Chapter 79 Thank you Liam

Chapter 79 Thank you Liam
~Liam~
It's now a week since we did the operation and I'm recovering pretty well because I feel like myself now though doctors insist that I need to take it easy on myself and I agreed because it's not like I was rushing to go somewhere.
On the other hand, our daughter Kara has also been fighting and I'm glad to know that she's getting better now.
“Hey,are you done?” Alina walked in and found me sitting on the bed.
“Yes,I'm ready, just waiting for you guys so tell me whenever you're ready,” I replied while getting down from the bed.
“I'm from Kara's room and I left her with the nurse in the lobby so if you're done, please let's leave right away,” she opened the door and I followed her behind.
Today was the day we were getting discharged but I'm so grateful for the doctors here and the whole team because they didn't rest unless they were sure that we got all the medication and attention we needed.
And last but not least,I felt safe with our caretaker Alina who worked tirelessly everyday and made sure that we had everything we needed in time without complaining at any moment.
I always felt bad and I wished I could give her a hand somehow because she had two patients but she cared for both of us simultaneously and I appreciate her for that.
We reached where Kara and her nurse were waiting for us from and when they saw us,the nurse stood up and pushed Kara who was sitting in the wheelchair outside towards our car.
“I will need a hand please ma'am,” the nurse told Alina.
They carried Kara and made her sit at the back seat and after buckling her up,her nurse also joined her inside.
I put the chair in the truck then after and I sat in the passenger's seat while Alina drove us.
“Hey, can we talk for a second before we leave?” Alina asked.
“Yeah sure,” we stepped out of the car and she pulled me to the side.
“Uhm,I forgot to tell you about this but, you're going to stay with us for a while,” she was kind of stammering.
“Oh about that! Okay,no problem,” I shrugged.
“You agreed just like that? I didn't expect this to be a walk in the park!” She was super surprised.
“Well,I have no one to go back to right now so I think it's better if I stay with you guys for a while,” I replied.
“What do you mean by that?” She asked.
“Uhm,that's a story for another day so don't stress over it…let's leave this place already please,” I begged her.
We sat back in and we drove off but we first made a stop at a restaurant and Alina asked everyone what they would like to eat for lunch and we gave her our orders, she moved inside and after a few minutes, she came back with her hands holding bags.
The restaurant was near her castle so we just drove for a few minutes and we were at her luxurious home.
Two maids came to the car and Alina handed them the bags with the food she bought then took them inside the house.
They were planning to get the wheelchair from the truck when I opened the back seat door and carried Kara in my hands.
“Liam, you're not supposed to weaken your body please let's put her in the chair,” Alina cried out.
“Calm down, she's not that heavy anyway so I won't hurt myself please calm down,” I walked towards the main door and the little girl just wrapped her tiny hands around my neck without saying anything.
The nurse and Alina followed us behind while pushing their empty wheelchair haha.
“Please put her down there on the dining table because we are all first going to have our lunch before we do anything else,” Alina said.
I gently placed her on the chair and slowly pushed it back so that she could have good access to the table.
“Thank you Liam,” Kara thanked me in a soft voice and everyone stopped in their actions.
“You're welcome Kara,” I gave her a warm smile.
I sat on the chair opposite to hers, the nurse sat next to her while Alina sat next to me.
“Madam,well be back,” I heard a voice and when I turned,it was Alina's chef.
“Oh thank you so much and thank you for sending us food all the time,my patients didn't get a chance to complain,” she thanked her.
“Ohh good to know…but Madam, you would have called me when you were leaving the hospital so that I could prepare something for you instead of buying outside,” he said.
“You're right but I wanted you to take some rest but worry not, dinner is on you so get us something good,” she replied.
“Okay Madam, let me go and start preparing…please you all should enjoy your lunch,” he went back to the kitchen.
They plated the food so well and if I wasn't there when buying it,I would spend a night arguing that it wasn't bought from outside.
We finished eating and I carried Kara up to her bedroom and Alina stepped in to take her bath as I was taken to my bedroom by one of the maids.
They had prepared it so well and I sat down on the bed then pulled out my cell phone and dialed my secretary's number to check on them.
I have been giving them instructions for the past week so I had to confirm whether everything was in order though I'm at peace because when it comes to business,I believe she delivers one hundred percent whether I'm around or in my absence.
After talking with her,I put away my phone and laid my head on the pillow to take some rest and this is when reality hit me that Ava left me with Halsey and it's been a week without hearing from them.
I held my phone in my hands and searched for Ava's contact…I wanted to dial it and maybe hear her voice but again I didn't know the right words to use at the moment.
I missed them so much and no words could describe how empty I feel without them in my life right now.
I put the phone down because I failed to gain the courage to talk to her and I slowly closed my eyes with hope that sleep could come and steal me away from these thoughts.
