Chapter 97 Waste them
As she was about to walk past Roger, he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back, a little forcefully, speaking through gritted teeth. “No means no, Lani, and this isn’t up for debate. We shall talk more at home.”
Releasing her, he walked out without looking back, but Delanie had a smile on her face as she dialed a number on her phone. “I need your help.”
Roger left for the Davis Group after leaving behind a few instructions. Closing, he arranged for a driver to pick up Oriana and Delanie due to his meeting with Destiny.
At the RD Group’s underground car park, he waited for a while before Karen came down to meet him. “Sorry I’m late. There is just so much to do with all the profit we are clocking every day.”
Proud of her, Roger leaned in and embraced her. “I’m so proud of you.”
He kissed her briefly and continued to say, “I haven’t had time to train you the right way, but I see your reports and I’m stunned,” he said honestly, thinking of how to reward her.
“Perhaps it’s the reason I’m so exhausted, but thanks for lunch. I enjoyed it, except that you didn’t turn up yourself.” Disappointment laced her voice but it was brief.
As soon as the younger generation were capable of managing their inheritances, their workload would drastically reduce as well but from the looks of things with Delanie, Karen could not expect much.
Though busy, she always looked forward to spending more time with her husband, just as Roger wanted. “Don’t worry, it will all end very soon.”
When they arrived at the hotel private room Roger chose for the meeting, he instantly felt that something was off when he saw the two people waiting for him.
Though elegantly dressed, there was that irking feeling that they neither of them was Destiny.
Calling Ryan and Max to the side, he asked, “Ryan, is that Destiny?” Roger’s arms were protectively wrapped around Karen as the two men’s gaze pinned on her.
“I’m sorry, I was trying to inform you earlier, but you weren’t answering my calls. I even sent text messages,” Ryan explained, and Roger frowned imperceptibly.
As soon as he arrived to pick up his wife, he put his phone aside and hadn’t seen the calls or text messages.
“So, who are these people?” His voice was loaded with annoyance as Max responded, “Destiny sent them.”
Roger’s anger boiled as he addressed the men without observing any protocols. “Tell your boss that this meeting is over.” What he wanted from Destiny, these men could never provide and he did not feel like wasting any more time.
“But sir, we haven’t even talked,” one of them stood up and spoke politely, his gaze lingering on Karen, but Roger noticed something and walked closer.
The hidden gadget in his pocket shirt was roughly pulled out with the fall of a few buttons, causing embarrassment to wash over him.
“Why are you here?" Roger demanded, his voice low and dangerous. With the atmosphere tensing up, the second man excused himself. "I'm sorry, sir, I..."
He was pulled back when he tried to walk past Roger, and just like the other, another gadget was found on him.
They were communication gadgets exposing them of communicating with somebody Roger suspected to be Destiny.
Max exchanged glances with Ryan as the atmosphere tensed up, but with just a phone call, two men in black walked in.
Roger never walked with bodyguards but they were always in the shadows, just in case and this was the reason why he could reach them anytime he wanted.
"I want them wasted," Roger instructed, and the two men began to confess.
"No, please, our boss wanted to hear everything discussed here today. We mean no harm."
Of course, Roger did not believe that crap and was beginning to hate how his father had kept him away from the mafia for years to subdue the beast inside of him.
Roger felt like the darkness in him when he was six years old was more than now that he was thirty years old. Giovanni raised a gentleman and not another demon like he was known for.
Back then, Roger would have enjoyed wasting these lives himself, but every time, he preferred having the bodyguards do the work like his father taught him after that massacre night over twenty four years ago.
"Lie one more time, and you'll never breathe again. You were lusting after my wife," he exposed them, their gazes lowered as one of them confessed.
"Our boss wanted a closer view."
His response immediately gave Roger a clue, and he instructed, "remove their contact lenses."
Shocked, one of the men asked, "How did you know there was a camera in it?"
Even Karen was stunned and had not expected it, but so were Ryan and Max. For some reason, they began to understand that things were not as simple as they perceived.
"You should be doing yourself some good by telling me exactly why you came here and who put you up to it," Roger scowled.
His voice was icy, his gaze cold, but Karen watched with a stun, never expecting their well-organized meeting to turn out this way.
She wanted to meet with Destiny and to know why he was after her and not be met with another puzzle. After the contact lenses were forcefully removed, the eye colors of the two men were exposed. Light brown and hazel.
“Please let me call him. We were sent here to poach Terror D2 and DK-1, but the man who sent us had a special liking for your wife,” the man with light brown eyes revealed. Roger shook with anger and instructed, “Waste them.”
As soon as the bodyguards geared into action, Karen spoke up. “No!”
