Chapter 179 Arden's Behaviour
Chapter 179 Arden's Behaviour
Lana's POV
I needed to work in peace with Arden and Daniel. I do wish that Arden had worked the entire day so that this could be avoided. "I will make myself comfortable," Arden said as he continued to glare at Daniel, but Daniel remained to be smirking at him. Arden walked around the desk and he shrugged off his coat, draping it over the back of the sofa. He sat down, scowling at us but mainly at Daniel.
I let out a sigh, "So what do the 3D designs look like?" I asked Daniel.
He opened his laptop bag and retrieved his laptop, placing it on my desk, and then he typed away on his phone as he waited for his laptop to warm up.
I got a ping and there was a notification on my email. I clicked on it with my mouse. It was from Daniel, the images loaded on my laptop screen and I clicked on one. "I have sent you the email with the images, those are the 3D designs that you can go through," he said as he started to type on his laptop.
I browsed through them and I have loved them so far. It brings out the design further. "I love these, they are brilliant, my design team could've done these, they are just as talented," I said.
"Then you wouldn't have seen my talent in that either," I looked at Daniel with a smile.
"I know how talented you were, you still are." A throat cleared and I looked at Arden, who was still scowling at us. He had a magazine in his hand.
"I have more designs though, I got more angles of your shoes," he said, and I stood up as Daniel focused on the laptop in front of him. I walked around the desk and I stopped beside him and looked at the screen. "These are the different colors for the shoes. You wouldn't want it to only be one color. A variety of colors would sell more, especially when it is a special occasion and a wedding. I do think that more colors that will be added will give females a variety of colors to choose from to suit their needs depending on the occasion," he said.
"I loved the cherise and blue. I love the white with the glitter and pearls on them. I might just wear my own shoes for my wedding," I smiled as I leaned forward, placing my hand on the desk and the other rested on my belly as I looked at the screen more closely.
"You will look beautiful," he replied as I stood up straight.
"I won't allow you to compliment my lady," Arden was now beside us. I took in a deep breath as Daniel remained oblivious. "You should keep it professional," Arden warned.
"Or what, Professor?" Daniel sighed.
"Can you just stop, Arden?" I said. I felt light-headed, I placed my hand on my forehead as I closed my eyes.
"Are you okay?" Arden moved closer to me, his hand on my lower back.
"I just need you both to act like friends or something. I am light-headed," I said.
"Did you eat anything?" I removed my hand from my forehead and Daniel now craned his neck to look at me with concern.
"No," I replied.
Arden was clearly concerned, "You should eat," Daniel chimed in. "I will not go anywhere."
"We are not talking to you," Arden hissed at him with annoyance.
"Let's just go and eat," I said as I walked around my desk and retrieved my purse from the desk drawer and then Arden held my hand as he led me to the cafeteria.
I was beginning to get tired with these two, I just wanted them to stop. I didn't eat today and I know that Arden wasn't impressed to hear that. "You can take a seat while I get you something," Arden said, and I nodded.
I took a seat at the table situated at the window. I soaked up the view of the building and the grey sky. I was actually hungry because my stomach growled. I placed my hand on my belly. I cannot wait to have him or her. Just to be able to hold him in my arms, and sing a lullaby. I smiled at the thought.
"What is that smile for?" Arden appeared with a sandwich and a bottle of water. He smiled in return as he placed my food down in front of me before taking a seat across from me.
"I was just thinking that I cannot wait for him to be here and to hold him in my arms." I said as I unwrapped the sandwich. The smell made me feel a little nauseous, but I took a bite anyway.
"I believe that it is a girl," Arden replied, watching me eat with a smirk.
"What if it's a boy?" I asked as I chewed.
He shrugged, "As much as I want it to be a girl, I will be happy with either one," he held his gaze on me, his smile disappearing. "I do not like Daniel to work alone with you, especially in your office. Perhaps have Miranda or Cynthia with you. It is a shoe collection after all. It goes hand in hand," he said.
I swallowed what I was eating and placed my half eaten sandwich down. "I believe that we had been over this already at the apartment. I can handle him but it seems to me that you are the one that cannot handle it," I held his gaze, his eyes became darker.
"I don't trust him, especially around you." he let out a breath.
"If this is how it will be when you are here, then I think that it would be best that you allow me to drive myself to work, so that I wouldn't have to deal with you and your behaviour in my office with someone that I am working with," I tried to make that clear.
Arden shook his head. The cafeteria was at least half empty, so no one would let on about me and Arden having a disagreement. "I wished that you had worked with someone else, there are so many other great companies out there."
"I chose Daniel's company. Stop acting like a child in my office," I glared at him as he looked down at the table. "I have work to do," I stood up.
"Lana, I don't want you and the baby to be stressed," he looked up at me with sadness.
"Then stop behaving the way that you are in my office. I simply want to work in peace. That is all that I ask," I said before I left the cafeteria.
If Arden cannot respect me in my own company, then I will be forced to drive myself to work because I simply do not have time to deal with these two who are always trying to be in some kind of competition.
