Chapter 178 Working With Daniel

Chapter 178 Working With Daniel
Lana's POV

Arden and I had a very quiet drive to Sternpoint, he still refuses to let me drive to work. There will be a time when I have to drive to meetings and I cannot depend on cabs or my uncles to drive me anywhere that I need to go. He has not been talking to me much since last night, even though I have apologized and he told me that we were not fighting. He still held me last night, but I shouldn't have said those words to him. Ever since I said that, he has been in this mood.

Arden's class will be half day today due to the students going on a mini-vacation. But I will be busy and meeting with Daniel again today. I just hope that it continues to go smoothly between us, seem that we will be working together. I sat at my desk, I had a black long-sleeved blouse on that was tucked into my pencil skirt and black heels. My hair was loose. The weather was cold and still rainy.

"Hey," I looked up from my laptop, Daniel walked towards my desk with a smile on my face. He was dressed in a navy blue suit. He looked handsome. He carried a file and a laptop bag. "How are you?" he asked.

"You may have a seat," I said as he pulled the chair out from the desk and took a seat. "I'm good," I smiled at him as I placed my hand on my belly. It feels automatic for me to do that. "How have you been?" I asked. I still feel awkward around him.

"I'm good, I have great news though," he said as he opened the file and paged through it. "So we have contracts to fill in and then we can go through the 3D designs. These shoes should be done by next week, as we have pushed Sternpoint to be a top priority. We are happy to be working with you and I believe that this will be a success." he smiled as he looked at me.

"That is definitely great news," I was excited. After filling in forms, I handed them back to him.

There was a knock on the door. "Sorry to interrupt but you will be needed for the auditions tomorrow," Miranda said as she walked towards me and handed a document to me. I took it from her as she stood next to me. "I'm Miranda, I have my own clothing line here at Sternpoint. Lana is such a great person to work with and she makes dreams come true," Miranda extended her hand out towards Daniel as I gently put the document on the desk. He smiled at her, extending his hand too.

"Daniel," they lingered for a while as they held eye contact.

"I will be there. Thank you, Miranda," I said, snapping them both out of their moment as they pulled their hands away.

"I better get going then," Miranda said with excitement. As she got to my office door, she turned around and looked at Daniel, whose back was facing towards her. She had a little smile. I believe that Miranda deserves happiness too. Someone that is a good person to be with. She left when I saw her checking Daniel out, but I bit my bottom lip to keep myself from laughing.

"Would you want to take a break before continuing?" I asked.

"No, its okay. Unless you need a break," Daniel said.

"No, it's cool. We can carry on with the work," I said, but then there was a slight knock on the door and Arden walked inside, his brows furrowed as he looked at the back of Daniel's head. He was wearing a black suit with a black coat due to the weather.

"You're done already?" I smiled at him as he approached us.

"Yes, I also gave Lucy a ride to Sternpoint, thought it would be more convenient seem that we both would be here," he said as he stood beside me. He leaned down and he pressed his lips against mine and he kept them against mine as I closed my eyes, his hand on my belly.

His kiss just took me to a whole different place, it turned me on, especially after the mood that Arden had been in since last night. I didn't expect this from him. I didn't want him to pull away so I kissed him back, placing my hand on his that was on my belly until a throat cleared. Arden paused and then I pulled away, but Arden remained where he was. "How are you feeling? How is our little angel?" he asked and I gave him a deadpanned look, he just said that out loud when I didn't want anyone else to know about little pea yet.

"We are fine," I said, and then Arden removed his hand from my belly and stood up straight as Daniel looked at him with no smile.

"Professor," Daniel finally said.

"Daniel. I see you're back," Arden clearly doesn't hide his annoyance.

"Yes, this time I am working with Lana. I must say that she is glowing. I guess you are treating her well," Daniel stated.

"Yes, better than how you have treated her," Arden fought back. I rolled my eyes.

Daniel nodded his head. "Says the one who broke her heart," Daniel looked at him with a smug grin.

"Guys, please," I said.

"You broke her heart too. I'm the one that is here now," Arden ignored me.

"Well, so am I," Daniel smiled brightly.

"You-"

"Okay, can I please get back to work, Arden? I was working peacefully before you got here," I raised my voice a bit before Arden would possibly attack Daniel across my desk. I didn't need that, I needed Arden to back off a bit. "This shoe line is important to me and I don't need you both to be fighting over me. We did that in the past, now I need both of you to be nice."

I craned my neck to look at Arden who was still standing beside me. He was in fumes. I could tell he was trying his best to control his anger. I just want both of them to act maturely while I am working on this project with Daniel.
