Chapter 180 Miranda's Crush Revealed

Chapter 180 Miranda's Crush Revealed
Arden's POV

The university was on a mini break, so all I could do was sit by myself in the apartment while Lana went to Sternpoint. She didn't allow me to take her to work because of my behavior towards Daniel. She forgets that he has a behavior too. Although I am sitting here, I want to be with her, keep an eye on her, but it's more about Daniel and I do want to protect her and the baby from any harm. I know that I cannot protect her from everything because I am not with her all the time.

Everytime that I think about her and Daniel working together, I dislike it more and more, I f^cking hate him. To top it off, it is that Lana thinks that it is okay to work with him after everything. She just dived in this company because she knows him. I snapped out of my uneasy thoughts and I browsed through the internet as I sat on the sofa with my laptop on my lap. Today was at least a bit sunny, with a few clouds. I found myself browsing through baby things, cribs, stuffed animals and clothes.

My heart swelled with love just thinking about our baby having all of these. Part of me still wants to purchase a house, but I am skeptical about it. This apartment is enough for the three of us. I let out a breath as I continued to focus on all the baby things. I am tempted to buy a few things, but I shouldn't purchase anything yet until the baby is healthy during the pregnancy.

There was a knock on the door and I placed my laptop beside me on the sofa and got up. Opening the door, I was met with Miranda's huge smile, "Hi!" she said excitedly and barged into the apartment, forcing me to step aside, my brows furrowed at her excitement and why she was even here in the first place. "I miss you," she said after I closed the door and looked at her. She made herself comfortable on the recliner.

"What a surprise this is," I said, still curious as to why she missed me. I took a seat on the sofa.

"I saw someone that I think I might have a crush on," she replied, barely containing her excitement.

"You came all the way here to tell me that?" I asked. She nodded with a smile. "Who is this person?" I wanted her to spill it out so that I could go on with my day. I didn't want to be in conversation with anyone because of my current mood about this whole Daniel thing.

"I don't know his name, but he was with Lana in her office. He is handsome, I think he is helping her with the shoe line," she said.

"F^ck no!" I hissed at her.

"What? Why not?" she asked me with shock. I am fuming right now because my sister has a f^cking crush on Daniel.

"He was Lana's best friend when they were in high school, he has feelings for her, and when she didn't want to be with him, he said pretty nasty things to her so that ended their friendship. We hate each other and I'm not going to allow a twenty-two or a twenty-three year old kid to date my grown-ass sister."

"Arden, have you ever thought about yourself who is engaged to someone that is far younger than you, who is the same age as him? I haven't dated since Terry's father. Allow me to be happy with whomever I want. This guy...whatever his name is, doesn't even know that I have a crush on him, but I plan to change that. Be happy that at least I might be the one to steer him away from feeling anything towards Lana. You want him to not have feelings for her, right? Then allow me to do my sh^t and for me to be happy with someone....if he returns the feelings," she let out a sigh.

"If he returns your feelings," I repeated, shaking my head with a chuckle. "Don't you think that you should just spend time with him and get to know him, see what his intentions are? I would be happy if he could back off from Lana, but I wouldn't want you to be dragged into this mess," I said.

"Well, we have to see how that goes. There is a fashion show next week and Lana's shoes will be on the models too. I know that he will be there, so I can mingle with him. I really just want to be happy," she sighed.

"I want you to be happy too. I want you to have a great man, not some kid and not even a druggie. I want you to continue on this path that you are on. You can be proud of yourself and how far you have come in life and in your career. I am even proud of you," I smiled.

"I am proud of myself too. I just want to have everything that I never got to enjoy years ago. I want to get married and have a family of my own... I am getting older, Arden, and my clock is ticking. At least you have someone younger that doesn't need to worry about a clock that is ticking..." she looked at me, cringing her face. "Sorry, that slipped out."

"Its okay. You worry about you and your clock while Lana and I enjoy our lives together." she doesn't know that we are expecting, so I won't say anything further until the time is right.

"There is a woman that is constantly trying to see dad in prison. She must be an ex-lover or one of the women that he f^cked. But I don't understand why she would go to that extent in finding him. Do you think that she fell pregnant with his child perhaps?" she asked.

I shook my head, "I could care less about him and any other woman that is looking for him. That is dad's own thing. I am just happy that he is in prison and won't be anywhere near me or Lana. I might just kill him if I ever see him again," I said, just thinking about everything just stirred the anger inside of me.

"Let's go to the coffee shop and just hang out. I miss our times together. You have nothing to do and I know that you are on a university break, so let's go, Arden. "

"I am not in the mood-"

"Oh, come on, stop being such a mood crusher," she got up from the recliner, took my hand and pulled me up from the sofa.

"Wait, let me get my things," I said.

I was not in the mood to go out, but I would gladly go to the coffee shop next to Sternpoint. I would be closer to Lana, as tempted as I am to surprise her at work, in my case, to also see what Daniel could be up to, she wouldn't like it at all. So I will just try to enjoy a coffee with Miranda and try my best to control myself.
