I prayed silently to the goddess that Ashley would be okay, he informed his mother of the situation and she instantly rushed to her room with her portions, the amount of blood that she had lost was not even helping the situation, she was not healing at all, this whole time, her mother has been scolding her, for some reason, she was not that tensed, maybe, she had dealt with such situation countless time, he did not utter a word at all to me or his sister, we just watched as she mixed her portions with her some herbs and chanted incantations before applying it on the wounds.

Ashley immediately winced in pain in reaction, I shut my eyes and tried not to imagine the pains that she must have been going through.

‘’Don’t you dare, I do not want to hear that voice of yours, what exactly were you thinking?! Going outside there with the new student, her father kept her here because he knew that it was a safe place for her to be, what if something had happened to her? What would have told Alpha Gray? That a hunter shot his daughter?!’’ She sounded really angry.

It was nice to know that she actually cared but she did not have to worry too much about me, if my family had heard of such news, they would have been unbothered, Liam would have been the happiest, he would have prayed for my death, the thought of nobody actually caring for me made my eyes to tear up.

‘’You are worried over someone else’s daughter? What about yours, ma? We are not her babysit.’’ He deadpanned in a harsh tone.

‘’Ree is not the one to blame for this, she did not want to go along with the plan, I forced her to.’’ Ashley voiced out weakly, the antidote was slowly working on her.

‘’Look what your plan had landed you into.’’ Their mum mocked.

‘’I don’t believe this bullshit that you are saying, she is a new student, of course, she would want to explore because she has always been caged back at home, so, she dragged you into this, stop trying to cover up for her.’’ He stated.

Ashley’s face held disgust on it, ‘’What exactly is your problem? Can you please for once stop with your silly insinuations, she did not do anything, if I knew that she could not shift yet, I would not have allowed such in the first place.’’

‘’Avery, why did you hold such important information, you know that it is dangerous for people that had not shifted before to be out in the woods without protection but still, you put your life in danger, don’t ever do that again and make sure that you do not miss a day in shifting classes or else, you will be in detention.’’ She told me in a strict tone and I nodded slowly.

I tried not to look at Lexan but I knew that he was staring daggers at me, I was so scared of the things that he would do to me when we get back in the room.

‘’Okay, you two. It is 11PM, go to your room, it is going to be your big night, tomorrow, son.’’ She pointed out with a weak smile.

She faced Ashley and ordered her, ‘’And you, make sure that you rest through out tomorrow, so, you would be able to attend you brother’s coronation, I do not have the energy to explain to your father about your absence, I do not want him to find out about this or else, you know what he would do to you.’’

‘’Goodnight, mum, Alex and Ree.’’ She told us and we did the same before their mum turned off the light.

The walk back to our room was tensed and I did not feel like being in the same space with him, I did not like the way that he was calm back there, that was the highest and deadliest point of anger.

He was definitely going to vent it all on me.

I got in and he locked the door behind him, my heart was pounding so fast as he walked towards me.

‘’Just because I refused to accept or reject you as my mate, you felt it was okay to try to harm my sister.’’ He voiced out.

I shook my head rapidly as I opened my mouth to speak but words refused to spill out.

‘’You knew that your action today would have cost me, my sister’s life if I was not around to save her, who in their right senses goes into the woods, knowing fully well that they cannot shift yet to be able to fight or even, run faster?! You are such a burden, Avery to every fucking person.’’ He added.

He gripped my arms and I flinched, I shut my eyes because I did not want to look into his green eyes.

‘’If it was just you out there, without my sister, I would have left you to die, the hunter would have cut you into half or maybe, used you as an experiment.’’ He told me in a very calm tone.

His words screamed hatred, he wanted me to die.

‘’I would have been so much happier if it was you that got injured and not my sister, the hunter would have eased me of my stress.’’ He added.

‘’Look at you, you are so weak that you cannot even save yourself and you think that I will ever accept you as my Luna?! Such dreams are never going to happen, sweetheart. It would be a disgrace to my pack to make an omega, their female leader.’’

‘’I am only letting you go today because I know that Ashley forced you on that silly adventure, next time, you will be sorry for yourself.’’

He freed me and I fell to the ground.

‘’I do not want to see you during my coronation, seeing your face will sour my mood, if I do, I will make sure that you would never forget such night, do I make myself clear?!’’ He yelled at me.

‘’Yes, you do.’’ I replied him, trying not to stutter.

He rolled his eyes and sighed before walking to his closet and stripping himself off his clothes.

His Luna was not invited….

He would never mark me, not in this life or the next.
