(KYLE POV):
"Kyle... I had no idea you..." Denver was saying.
"Of course you won't! You never cared to know!" I interrupted then barged out of the room. I never knew that one day, tears would come out of my eyes but they did. And I ran to the bench outside the mansion in the garden to let those tears out.
I know I've been nothing but cruel to people around me but even I have a heart, even I have insecurities. I chose not to care about others because they never once cared about me. I'm supposed to be an evil demon but inside of me is just a softy.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and I made sure to keep my face out of view.
"Denver go away!" I shouted.
"I thought your brother was the one without powers. So much for being a demon. You couldn't even detect who I was." Delanie said and I felt her sit beside me.
"Go away Delanie. I don't have time for this." I said.
"You never went away when I wanted you to so there you go. I am returning the favour." Delanie said.
I was about to get up and leave but Delanie prevented me.
"Look Kyle, I may not be the best of company but... You can pour your heart out to me. I want to be your shoulder to lean on." Delanie said to me.
I couldn't help it and I let my tears flow freely. "I've just been through a lot in my life." I said to Delanie.
She turned to me on the bench and made me place my head on her shoulder. I kept crying and she kept patting my head lightly.
"It's okay. Just let it all out." Delanie said with a soft voice.
"You know... I once thought I hated my sister. Also my mom but then... That wasn't so because I discovered that in the true light of things that I love my sister. However, it was too late for me then because I only realized it after I lost her." Delanie said.
"The night that Denver took her away, right before my eyes, I cried it all out. Since I thought she was going to be gone forever I tried to pretend I didn't care and I played being though so it would look like I never cared. The guilt never left me till this day and when I saw there was still a chance of seeing her again I took it." Delanie added.
"I have a little advice for you Kyle. Don't let the things you hold dear vanish before you realize it's worth." Delanie said to me.
"Thank you." I said.
"I thought you would never say thank you to me." Delanie said, jokingly and I nudged her a bit then smiled secretly.
... Almost an hour later...
I woke up and the first thing I saw was Delanie's face. I smiled and was about to touch her face when she flinched. I didn't even realize I had fallen asleep with my head on her laps until she woke and I sat up straight on the bench.
She stretched on the bench then looked at me. "Oh? You're awake?" she said and yawned.
"Yes. Why didn't you wake me? You let me sleep on..."
"That's fine. I have no problem with it." she butt in.
"Of course you don't. Who wouldn't want too have this handsome face sleeping on their lap?" I said, boasting.
"Ha ha very funny. Now you are back to being you." Delanie said.
She stood up to leave and as she did I held on to her hand. Delanie turned to look at me, "Thank you once again." I said to her. She smiled and nodded then she left.
I felt a whole lot better now and I was about to go in when I caught a sight that got me angry. I marched forward and came in between Kelvin and a lady he was just kissing with. Kelvin looked surprised to see me the lady was confused.
"What do you think you are doing?" Kelvin asked me.
"Stopping you from using two ladies." I answered confidently.
"Who is he and what is he talking about?" the lady asked. Just then I saw Delanie signalling me from a window in the mansion to leave. I wouldn't have it so I stayed despite her signals and she left the window.
"I thought Delanie..."
"Hi Loveth!" I heard Delanie shout before I could finish speaking. Delanie looked like she had ran down all the stairs in the mansion to get here.
"Delanie. It's so nice to see you." Loveth said and they hugged each other.
"I see you couldn't stay away from your fiance for that long." Delanie said to Loveth.
"What can I say? I haven't been able to get my mind off him since I went abroad." Loveth replied.
Seizing the opportunity, Kelvin made Loveth go inside with him. Just Delanie and I were still outside.
"So Kelvin..." I said, feeling a bit awkward.
"That lady is Kelvin's wife to be and by the looks of things now, I just saved what you were about to ruin." Delanie explained.
"All this while I thought you and Kelvin..."
"Eww, yuck. Don't even go there. Kelvin is the only son and child. He just sees me as the sister he never had and I see him as a brother." Delanie said.
"But then why was he behaving like..."
"Like a big brother should?" Delanie said.
"He just doesn't want to see me get hurt and also, he doesn't like you either. Kelvin has been helping me heal since Melanie was gone. I didn't tell him how it happened but he was still there to comfort me." Delanie explained to me.
"Well... That makes a lot more sense." I said.
"Yes. Yes it does. Now please keep away from him. This is the last time I will be saying it." Delanie said and went inside the mansion.
I had never been any happier in my life! Could this day get any better?
I returned to my room in high spirit. Denver was there.
"Kyle. You're back. And... Happy?" Denver said.
"Yes." I answered and jumped unto the bed.
"I just wanted to apologize for..."
"No problem at all." I said to Denver.
"Excuse me?" Denver said.
"You heard me. I forgive you and everybody else. All that enmity was never worth it. If father had chosen you to rule after him then I am fine with it. He had his reasons. I will stop at nothing to get your powers back to you and your throne will be yours once more." I said to him.
