Chapter 39
Chapter 39
Dane forced him to the middle of the room, right over to the chains that hung from the ceiling as if they were chanting Dad’s name then kicked him in the back of the knees, forcing him down to the ground painfully hard. The blow of his knees hitting the floor made a loud crack, which sounded like either the ground or his knees had broken, but all dad did was grunt, not showing any other signs of it hurting him.
Dane stayed standing behind Dad whilst Reid went to the wonky shelves on the far side and started looking for something in particular. Once he found whatever it was that he was searching for, he went back to the two that were still waiting for him in silence, not showing anyone what was in his hands until he got back to the chains and started connecting them.
“Ah nice, I like your thinking today.” Dane praised Reid for whatever it was that he had chosen. The smirk on his face made me dread the idea that Reid had concocted; my hands started to quiver in anticipation.
Each sound that the chains made as Reid moved them made my heart skip a beat, and at one point feel like it would stop altogether. My stomach was still twisting as it did the tango, threatening to evict any residue that was still left from my last bite of food and the burning bile that was teasing its way up my oesophagus, and the damp smell feeding my body’s agitated reactions.
Once Reid had finished fiddling with the new additions to the ends of the dark, corroded restraints, he stepped back slightly to admire his handiwork, which finally gave me the opportunity to see what it was that he had been doing.
“Hooks. Fucking meat hooks.” Glaring at the barbaric items, I was flabbergasted at the sheer brutalism that these mad tossers resorted to.
“Yup, and he doesn’t deserve any less than he’s gunna get.” Dane was the one to answer, but it was the haunting mockery and excitement that exuded him that made my nostrils flare as I scented him, and it reminded me of all the horrific things that I had seen only a couple of short hours ago.
The hooks sat resting gently on the floor, not making any sounds now, ready and waiting for their days work ahead of them. But instead of relief at now knowing what was most likely planned for my dad, I felt worse. I had not been reassured after the intense wait, and I knew that I would not be able to watch a strong wolf like dad being put through such depravity and I was stunned into complete silence.
“Hold him still.” Reid commanded Dane eagerly in his gruff, masculine voice to help him with restraining Dad. But he was a powerful wolf, and should he have chosen to retaliate, then Dane would not have been able to do a thing to stop him.
Dane used his large hands to pin Dads arms to his sides before Reid had stepped up to them. Reid lifted one of the thick hooks with its chain from the ground, inspecting it intensely to double-check that he had secured them together properly, pulling on them with all his strength for good measure. When he was satisfied, he stepped closer to the man that was kneeling and had already resigned himself to his fate, deciding to accept it without a sound, but dignified, and not protesting like a coward would - instead being the glorious Alpha that he is.
Tears rolled down my face as I watched the magnificent man and animal, kneeling with their back held straight, their face emotionless and strong as they patiently held still, waiting for the inevitable and needless torture about to befall them for some mundane reason.
My chest grew heavy, and I started wringing my hands nervously as Reid moved as close as it was possible for him to without stepping directly on Dad. His right hand was armed with the hook that was tormenting us with the dried blood that spoke of its past victims flaking away.
Reid tapped the hook threateningly in the palm of his hand before he held the sharp point against the skin bellow Dad’s right collarbone, freezing as if reconsidering what he was about to do. But I know better, he was probably just contemplating if there was something worse that he could instead. He slowly inserted the hook into Dad, taking his time to increase the lengthy suffering. He pushed it in through the muscle at the top of Dad’s firm pecs, hooking it underneath the jutting bone before bringing it out the other side.
The whole time that Reid was forcing the foreign item into Dad, he did not flinch even a millimetre. The man was a beast, staying mute and accepting his fate, paying his dues.
My eyes would not stop; I cried continually whilst I was trapped watching Reid insert the second hook. Blood was already pouring out from the first part of his persecution, but he stayed stock-still. The sticky substance trickled down his naked and tanned chest, but there was still not a peep from him.
Once he had finished forcing the torturous instruments through Dad, Reid went over to a wall were there was a random crank-type handle protruding, a crusted, rusty iron chain linked to it that hung from the ceiling, which then dropped back down to where Dad had been attached. He started to turn the handle, tightening the chain and pulling Dad forcefully to his feet. The weight of his body being lifted so unnaturally had stretched his wounds open further, sending random extra dribbles of blood to fall.
I noticed a small quiver in Dad’s arms as he fought to keep control and stop himself from calling out through his pain, still being the incredible man that he is.
Reid paused cranking just as it pulled Dad to the tips of his toes, leaving him suspended by just that one small fraction of his body. He was unable to hold himself and spun on the spot, lengthening the tight flesh more than it could naturally give and nearly tearing the meat hooks right through it. Reid looked extremely satisfied with himself, watching one of his enemies suffer so much at his hands, but it was still not enough. He started rotating the handle around again, this time until Dad was suspended fully by the hooks with his feet hanging freely in the air, his bodyweight and gravity working hard to try and pull him back down to the ground.
Dad gritted his teeth and grunted as the hooks tore his skin slightly, jolting him downwards a little and causing an immense amount of agony for him. But, even with him being so weak from starvation and the beatings that he had already received over the last few days, his superfast Alpha wolf healing still sewed up the new tears in front of our eyes faster than any omega could at full strength.
