CHAPTER 63

CHAPTER 63

“How can you both make such a mistake? You’ve doomed us!” Alice spat, visibly annoyed by her parents mistake.

Driven by rage, she tossed her phone to the couch and stood to her feet. There was no point staying here anymore, it was clear that Olivia and Jade must have known the whole truth by now.

Shirley and her husband were nowhere to be found at the moment. It’s very possible that they might have gone to Olivia and told her everything that they overheard her parents discussing.

“I’m no longer safe here.” She whispered. Alice brought her palm to her lips. “Olivia must have discovered everything by now, I must leave from here now.”

As soon as she finished her words, She dashed to the stairs going up to her room. She began packing the very few clothing she managed to acquire into a small luggage box.

Meanwhile…

Olivia’s car rolled up in front of the building, she carefully stepped down after Aiden opened the door for her.

“Are you sure that you want to go in alone?” Jade who just stepped out of the car demanded in a worried tone.

She has always known that Alice was no different from her mother and father. The same deceitful and evil blood flows through her veins.

“If I don’t come out in the next ten minutes, you both can come in.”

Jade gave a short nod, she flashed a reassuring smile at Olivia.

“Don’t let her get you first.”

Olivia turned to the one story building, her eyes fell on the window which belonged to Alice. She noticed the disturbance in the curtain, like someone was there a while ago.

Inhaling sharply, she began walking into the house. Once she was in, her eyes scanned the living room. She spotted Alice’s phone lying on of the couches ringing nonstop.

On a closer look, it was a call from her uncle and also Jade’s father. She reached for it and brought it to her ear after accepting it.

She didn’t say a word and neither did her uncle speak. The silence did all the talking and passed all the message needed.

“I’ll fish you both out of hiding very soon, Uncle.” Olivia finally broke the silence before disconnecting the call, she finally placed Alice’s phone into her purse and turned around after perceiving Alice’s perfume up close only to stagger back after the latter fell to the ground and passed out.

Olivia’s eyes widened in horror. She gasped out loud seeing Jade with the vase on one hand and Alice sprawled on the ground, on her left hand was a big kitchen knife.

“Jade.” She called out in a breath.

Jade let out a sly smirk with a shrug of her shoulders. “I told you that I don’t trust her at all. She was this close to stabbing you.”

Olivia’s right palm fell on her neck. She could swear that she didn’t hear or feel Alice sneaking up on her at all.

“Oh my goodness, that was close.” She gasped. “Is she still breathing?”

“I hope not.”

However, the two ladies were stunned when Aiden rushed out of nowhere and crouched down next to Alice checking for her pulse and heartbeat.

He snapped his head to the two staring down at him with the meanest gaze they’ve ever seen on a person. Then his gaze settled on Jade and the vase she was still holding.

“Have you lost your mind?”

“She tried to stab Olivia! I had no other choice than to knock her out.” Jade retorted. “I don’t mind doing the same to you maybe you both can be a real couple in the afterlife if you adore her that much.”

“You’re sick!” He spat back.

The next morning…

Jade stared meaningfully at the lady tied up to a wooden chair in their basement. She still hasn’t woken up after she was struck in the head the previous day.

“Bitch!” Jade spat before splashing the cold water from a bucket over Alice’s face. It took only a second to get a reaction from Alice.

Alice took her time trying to adjust to the surrounding she found herself in. She tried to bring her hand forward to wipe her face only to discover that she has been strapped to a chair.

“Ah! Let me go!” She yelled, rocking her body forward and trying to break free from the thick ropes holding her firmly.

“Of course dear, I’ll let you go soon. After all, you’re the Cops problem now not ours.” Jade ridiculed, grinning from ear to ear.

Olivia who has been standing by the dark part of the corridor rolled her eyes and marched forward to the two.

“That’s enough Jade, I’ll take it from here.”

Alice’s chest tightened on sighting Olivia approaching her. The usual calm gaze she had been using turned into a chilly glare.

She couldn’t keep the false character anymore.

“It’s you!” She spat. “You would have been dead by now if this pest over here didn’t interfere–”

Alice’s head to the left after a deafening slap fell on her right cheek. She slowly raised her head up meeting Olivia’s gaze.

“You–”

“You have no idea how long I’ve waited to hit you hard across your face.” Olivia interrupted. “Do you really think that my favorite color is two?” She mocked further.

Alice’s chest rose and fell in harsh breath.

“I should have killed you long ago!” She snapped only to receive another equally deafening slap from Olivia again.

“And I should have arrested you and your parents a long time ago. The Cops are out there looking for them, as of now they are both the city’s most wanted.”

Alice’s heart skipped a beat but she managed to put on a tough face like it didn’t bother her at all.

“I already informed them about you, they’ll be here to take you away any moment from now and I’ll finally breath a fresh air of relief.”

“I’ll haunt you down and make life unbearable for you.” Alice threatened through clenched teeth. “You and lover of yours, what’s his name?” She questioned meaningfully. “Asher Adams, I’ll make life so difficult for you that the only choice you’ll have left is to jump into a hot furnace.”

Jade chuckled, gently pushing Olivia aside.

“You can fulfill all your wishes as soon as you get out of prison.” She added with a toothy grin.

At a distance, they could hear the police sirens approaching.

“They are here already, I hope you rot in your cell.” Olivia mocked.
