CHAPTER 64
CHAPTER 64
Olivia never thought that doing away with Alice would give her the peace of mind she needed at this point in her life. Although her aunt and uncle haven’t been caught yet by the Cops, she knew that their day of reckoning was drawing closer.
The most awaited day for Reynold’s group was today. Today was the day that she’ll be recognized as the leader of the big group.
Jade made it her mission to overdress her boss for this big event taking place at one of their event centers at the outskirts of the city.
“I’m done with your makeup and boy! You’re perfect.” Jade said in between a gasp. She nudged her brows to the mirror before them for Olivia to take a look.
Olivia followed Jade’s line of sight and was equally stunned by her own beauty, she brought her hand gently to touch her face only for Jade to catch her hand effortlessly.
“Don’t even think about it, you’re gonna ruin all of my hard work.” She teased. “Go put on your outfit, I want to go check on Aiden real quick.”
“Yeah, please do that.”
Meanwhile…
Before the large screen TV was Aiden, dressed in a casual ash polo and black jogger pants. On one hand was a big bowl full of popcorn and his legs stretched and crossed boldly over the coffee table.
Jade was left speechless by the audacity the young man had. He was meant to be ready by now to drive them all to the venue but here he was.
“Aiden!” She snapped, taking the last stair and marching straight to him.
She blocked his view of the TV screen with her slender figure and her actions instantly pissed Aiden off.
“What the hell is your problem?” He questioned right away, feeling annoyed and irritated. “I’m busy watching–”
“You’re supposed to be ready by now, Aiden. Olivia is almost ready and you’re not even dressed yet.”
Aiden snorted, bringing his head to meet her gaze and it was at that moment he noticed Jade’s makeup and for some reasons he bursted out into laughter.
Jade was speechless and was also left in a trance. This was infact the first time she had seen him laugh at something, the least he always does is to give a wicked grin whenever he does something annoying.
The longer his laugh lasted, the more embarrassed she became.
She unconsciously checked herself out wondering what exactly was making him laugh so much.
“Will you just quit doing that?!” She snapped, already fed up with his annoying laughter.
“You look like a circus clown.” He uttered, keeping the bowl of popcorn aside.
Jade rolled her eyes hard at his remarks. Now she understood what he meant, she was halfway done with her makeup before she left to help Olivia get ready.
“Well this circus clown is about to kick your ass if you don’t get ready this minute–”
“I’m not interested at all and I’m not going either. You both should get another person to drive you.”
Jade pursed her lips tightly. “You have exactly twenty minutes to get ready, Aiden.” Her voice went low. “Don’t test my patience.” She threatened before leaving the room to him.
Asher took a glance at his wristwatch while his eyes fell to the stairs every now and then. Since he was a major shareholder in the Reynold’s group, he had to be present for this big day.
He was dressed in a black tuxedo, a crisp white shirt lay underneath and a black bow tie around his collar while his hair was perfectly cut in a taper fade.
His feet was covered with a shiny black leather shoes.
He was all set for the event and the only thing that remained was his date. At that moment, his ears were piqued by the sound of heels clicking against the staircase.
He brought his gaze up from his phone to the stairs only to catch the sight of his date, Agnes.
Dressed in a silk silver long gown that shimmers whenever a ray of light falls on it. There was a radiant smile on her lips as she took each step down the stairs.
For a very brief second, a different image flashed past Asher’s eyes when he saw Agnes. He smiled in return, walking towards the stairs and stretching his hand out for Agnes to take.
A red hue fell on her cheeks as she accepted his palm.
“You’re looking pretty.” He confessed, bringing her palm to his lips where he planted a soft kiss.
“You’re not looking bad either.” Agnes murmured. “I just want the world to know that you’re mine and I’m yours.”
The smile on Asher’s lips quivered for a second, he didn’t utter a word to her anymore but led her out of his house.
Tonight, he chose to give Olivia just one more chance to rebuke her earlier words or he’ll move on from her with Agnes.
As expected of a fabulous event like this, the red carpet was filled with different wealthy folks who made their appearance to share this beautiful night with Olivia Reynold and also to congratulate her.
The media team were also present to cover the event and take photos of whatever couples that graced the event.
Including, Asher Adams. Today was the first time that he’ll be making a public appearance with his real identity as the Adam’s only son who they all thought was dead over two decade ago.
Immediately he stepped out of the car, the media swarmed around him and Agnes at once. They still recognized him as Seth, the man who was chasing after Olivia at one point.
Seeing him with another lady sparked suspicion and more information to create a juicy gossip.
“Mr Seth, you came with a different lady tonight. Are you no longer with Miss Reynold anymore?” One of the reporters asked right away.
At first, Agnes loved the spotlight she found herself in but as soon as they started making everything about Olivia, she became pissed off by their attitude.
Asher noticed her discomfort and also how they kept flashing cameras at their faces and shoving their mics to their lips.
“Enjoy your night!” He concluded, leading Agnes away from the crowd.
