First Twin

I arrive at the Hotel Orseolo, a forty-five minute drive from the gym, dressed in smart-casual black clothes to avoid arousing suspicion. My driver parks the car a few blocks from the hotel. I get out of the automobile, my face impassive, hidden under the shadow of my sunglasses and a false moustache. After a five-minute walk, I finally arrive at the hotel and approach the reception desk, exchanging a few discreet words to rent a room, which is 310. As I climb the stairs, Alvaro informs me by telephone that our men are in civilian clothes, pretending to be tourists, and that they are surrounding the entire building. Needless to say, the atmosphere is tense, and I walk with icy confidence to my room to get ready.
In front of my door, four of my men are disguised as room cleaners and wave to me that they are just waiting for my signal to start the operation. I enter my room and hurriedly change. After a few minutes, I give my instructions to Leopoldo and without waiting, my men silently slip in behind me with the laundry cart. With a precise, skilful gesture, they manage to obtain master keys and open the bedroom door 303, making it barely audible over the echoing corridor. Inside, Ignacio was bobbing in the Jacuzzi, surrounded by two beautiful women, laughing and enjoying the hot water. Carelessness on his part was about to end lives.
"Ignacio, my dear! Here,we meet again, and I see you are in excellent company," I say, taking out a silenced pistol from behind my back.
His face tightens at the sight of me catching him off guard, just as I have anticipated. My eyes turn red and glow with cold determination, pointing my gun at his two floozies. I put my index finger over my mouth to signal them to shut up. Without warning, I shoot the two sluts and Ignacio panics as he realizes the gravity of the situation. Realizing he has no choice, he throws up his hands with a face as pale as if he has seen a ghost, nods and climbs out of the Jacuzzi to follow us.
"Let's get out of here!” I ordered in a stern tone. And you over there, get rid of these bodies and clean up this mess.
With a coal-black, overpowering aura, I leave nothing to chance. I called in professional experts, hackers, and offered them a handsome sum of money to disable all the hotel's cameras. Given the number of zeros on the money offer, they immediately accepted, as the operation had to be quick and efficient, with complete discretion.
I watch as my men take Ignacio by the arms, dragging him into the bathroom to get dressed and then lead him out of the room. We leave in muffled silence, and it's not over yet. This is just the beginning.
In the huge hotel lobby, at the end of the afternoon, my men in casual outfits discreetly weave through, their muffled laughter masking the intensity of a hidden mission. They move with determination and confidence towards the exit, not revealing a hint of doubt on their faces. At the center of the group, Ignacio is held hostage, his face as pale as chicken broth, while he soaks up the luxury of his surroundings. They pass under the large crystal chandelier diffusing a calm and welcoming atmosphere, where gray velvet armchairs are arranged in small groups, inviting relaxation, followed by the latest magazines laid out on a few coffee tables. With customers passing each other unhurriedly while exchanging friendly smiles, my men move firmly through the mix to finally exit the hall.
Twenty minutes later, I make my appearance at that very moment, with a face that shows no emotion whatsoever. I have carefully dressed in a black high-collared sweater and blue jeans, a casual look that does not arouse suspicion. It gives me the look of an ordinary, simple person going out for dinner with friends, but always with an ice-cold stare that speaks volumes about my true nature. Once outside the hotel, I walk briskly towards the gleaming black car, where my driver is waiting patiently. Meanwhile, my men load Ignacio into the van at the rear of the hotel, taking care not to attract the attention of passers-by.
Settling into the back of the car, my phone vibrates in my jeans pocket and it is Leopoldo's voice on the other end of the line, confirming that everything is in order for room 303, including the evaluation of the floozies' bodies, which has gone according to plan. The efficiency of our organization was very well executed, with a cleaning crew already in place, ready to erase any trace of our passage, while a highly paid security brigade kept a watchful eye on the premises to avoid the slightest incident.
I give Leopoldo a few instructions before hanging up to say that is all for today, aware that nothing has gone unnoticed, or else the consequences would have been fatal. The driver turns the ignition key and starts the car. The engine purrs softly and heads for an old warehouse, perched on a cliff overlooking a tumultuous, ever-choppy sea. An ideal, isolated spot where few dare venture. It was also a favorite spot for Enrico Lombardi, my former Mafia boss, to get rid of any troublesome people standing in his way.
This raging sea, where the waves crash against the rocks with unprecedented violence, I see it engulfing everything in its path. With this grey, threatening sky, the clouds get heavier and the wind howls, describing my inner personality as a chaotic scene of rage and despair. Dark-faced, I stepped out of the car, wrapped in a long black coat, to observe the spectacle. My marble-cold eyes are riveted on the horizon, where the sea struggles wickedly. It is the same performance to show me merciless towards my enemy. With a cynical smile and a blank stare, my thoughts seal the fate of people with problems.
I am like this sea, which knows neither pity nor forgiveness, to make them disappear like a shadow under the wrath of the waves. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning rips through the sky, briefly illuminating the scene. The sea roars even louder and the waves, in their chaotic dance, seem to approve of the Machiavellian plan I have set myself.
Ignacio's time has not come yet, but he will stay here, enjoying the atmosphere, while I focus on my next target, his twin brother.
