Chapter 31
“ Em.”, I said. “ Are you?...” She smiled. 

“ Yea I am. I found out a little after you did, and was so excited to go through this pregnancy with my sister.” She teared up. “ But when you got kidnapped it broke me. I didn’t know if I would ever see you again or if my kids would ever see their cousins.”

I hugged her tightly with a lump rising in my throat threatening to make me cry. “ Do you know what you are having? Have you picked out a name yet?” I asked her. 

“We are having a boy, but we wanted to wait until you found out what you were having and let you pick names first. You and Brian have had so much taken from you that even if you choose a name that we like it should belong to you. We have several picked out and we can use any of them.”

“That’s a lot to ask of you too.” I said knowing my feelings would be hurt if somebody stole my baby’s name.

“ No it isn’t” she said, shaking her head as tears streamed down her cheeks. “ We are just so happy we have you back.”

I hugged her as tightly as I could. “ I love you Em.” I said as my own tears fell and hit her shoulder. Jason hugged us both. 

“ It’s okay now. We are all home safe and we don’t have to worry about anything like this happening again.” he said, trying to console both of us and not knowing what to say to make it better. He was freaking out because he couldn’t and didn’t know what to do and I wanted to stop crying, but didn’t know how. All of my emotions just came pouring out of me and I know the same happened to Emily. We just missed each other so much. I felt Jason get up and heard him walk across the room. 

“ They just started crying and I don’t know how to make it better. What should I do?”I heard him ask frantically.

“ Jason, it's okay. They love each other and they’ve been apart for months. They are also pregnant and their hormones are high right now. All we can do is sit next to them when they are ready to need us.” I heard Brian say. I looked up, but still couldn’t stop crying. Then something happened that I was not expecting. Sebastian walked over to us and knelt down between us. 

“ I need both of you to look at me.” he said lovingly. I had never heard him speak like that before. We both looked at him with tears streaming down our cheeks while trying to catch our breath. 

“ I need you both to listen. All of this crying isn’t good for your babies. You have each other now and you will never be apart again. You have to be strong for the children you already have. Now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with crying, but you can’t let it make you sick and at this rate that’s what you are going to do. Don’t cry about not having one another or how much you missed each other. Live in the present because that’s all we've got because the future isn’t promised.” I reached over and hugged him as the tears began to fall again. 

“ I love you too Sebatian.” He kissed my cheek and let Brian come over to take over for him. 

“ I borrowed Sebastian’s phone so we can call the doctor,” he said soothingly. He held the phone out to me and I took it. I wiped the tears from my eyes and used the tissue that he gave me. I looked up the number to my doctor and dialed it. 

“ Hello this is Dr. Rae’s office.”

“Um.. yes this is Faith Merrimack and I would like to see if I could get in today?”

“ Mam you have missed several appointments. We can’t just get you in. You need several tests and an anatomy scan. That’s way too much to do in one appointment today. You will need to schedule an appointment for a later date and right now we are scheduled out at least two weeks.”

“ This is an emergency. I was kidnapped for all those appointments I missed and I really need to be sure my babies are okay.” I said, trying to make her understand. 

“ I’m sorry, but you will just have to make an appointment.” she said. Brian took the phone from me and was pissed. I knew he would try to reason with them first, but if reason didn’t work he would result in threats. 

“ Mam?” he asked. 

“ Yes sir.”

“ It is imperative that my wife sees her doctor today.”

“ I’m sorry Mr. Merrimack, but I’ll tell you the same as I told her. We are two weeks out and you will have to make an appointment.”

“ I don’t know if you quite understand what she told you. My wife was kidnapped for months and we just found her. She needs to see the doctor to check on the health of our children.”

“ Sir, we just can’t.”

“ I want to speak to the doctor now,” he demanded. 

“ That’s not possible.” she said, getting aggravated. 

“ You either get him on the phone or I will come up there and you don’t want that.” he snapped. 

“ Mr. Merrimack, I do not take threats lightly.” 

“ I don’t take lightly to you taking my wife and children’s health as a joke. Let me speak to him.” he demanded again.

“The receptionist sighed. “ Let me put you on hold and see what I can do.” It took about ten minutes before someone answered on the other line. 

“Hello, this is Dr. Rae. I hear we have a problem.”

“ Yes, there is an issue,'' Brian said. “ My wife had been kidnapped for months and we finally tracked her down and she needs to be seen to make sure everything is okay with her and the babies she is carrying.”

“ What is her name?” Dr. Rae asked. 

“ Faith Merrimack.” Brian said, sighing. 

“ Oh yes, I remember being quite concerned about her. Do you have proof of her kidnapping?”

“ I figured you would ask that and yes I do. She thought something was up and called my brother when she couldn’t get a hold of me and lucky for her it went to voicemail and her abduction got recorded. Also if you need me to, I can bring my brother and father in as proof. They searched for us both when I also went missing. ”
