Chapter 62 Unexpected Happenings
Dante's POV
Something felt different this time around, like it wasn't meant to happen, but it was happening.
I looked up at Serena who was already looking at me. She didn't say anything, neither did she move.
I didn't make any attempt to move my hand from her ass and somehow, our heads nearly came together till a strange sound broke us apart from afar.
Serena startled and pushed herself up against my chest. “Oh wow, how did we get there?” She laughed as she got to her feet and stepped a few feet back.

“I think we've seen enough for one night, we should go before someone notices our absence,” I said calmly.

I followed after her fast, careful not to crash into her again. I turned on my phone light and quickly found her.
I met her by a small rock and moving very slowly.
I got behind her and tried to reach out to her but slipped on a rock again, stepping back and pressing into me again.
A sharp breath broke out from my lips but I held myself together quickly.
“Serena—” I tried calling but she cut me off immediately.
“Shhh, you might wake them,” she whispered and straightened.
What the fuck?
I lifted my phone light to see what she was talking about and met a couple of dotted eyes. Then…
A swarm of bats all got up and scrambled in fear.
“Ahh!” Serena yelped and dove into my arms, resting her head on my chest in fear.
I lowered my head to avoid being scared as they scrambled around.
When everything seemed to calm down, I opened my eyes and looked around with my flashlight still on and in hand.
Serena too slowly pulled back and looked around. “Is it over?” She asked.
“I guess so,” I replied.
Then she slapped my chest playfully. “You did this. Why did you chase them away?” She asked with a sly grin on her lips.
“And now? It's time I take us outta here,” I exclaimed and picked her into my arms, swaying towards the way we came in from.
“Let go of me!” She screamed while giggling wildly.
Her laugh was pretty infectious and soon? I was laughing too as I spun us around.
I quickly got tired and leaned on a rock with Serena's legs wrapped around my waist and hands around my neck.
We took a minute to relax as we were still giggling.
After what felt like a whole minute, I grew calm while Serena still had some giggles left in her.
I noticed I could see her face slightly, I could spot her eyes with the little light in the cave.
Then I noticed I didn't have my phone in hand again, must have fallen from earlier.
She looked so beautiful with a carefree smile on her face. I watched as strands of hair fell between her eyes as she smiled with all she got.
“You're crazy,” she finally remarked after getting a hold of herself.
“You haven't seen anything yet,” I replied with a smirk.
“You are so dirty!” She screamed with a mock British accent.
