Chapter 60

Chapter 60
Aurora P.O.V.

There was seven bikes.

One for each of us, but why did they think I would leave without my sister. Why would they ever think that I could leave her behind? The only reason that I am still living is because of her, shes the singular reason I’m not dead.

“Wheres my sister?” I asked, looking at their mom and my past Luna. In so many ways I still look at her as being my Luna, I wasn’t ready for that title and I’m not sure that I would ever be ready or such a big title. It wasn’t the type of life that I wanted to live, not for myself and definitely not emmy.

“Love…” Lucas said, but his words trailed off like he was trying to find a way to tell me that we wold find her later. The truth was there, in the unspoken words. I ripped my arm from him, “Where is my sister?” I asked, looking between all of the individuals here. My brother was here, my luna was here, my mates were here so where the hell was my sister. I know that the Liuna and my sister were together last.

“We don’t have time for this. Get on the bike and I will tell you everything when we get somewhere mildly safe.” Levi growled.

“If it isn’t safe for me to be on the edges of the pack then why is it safe for her?” I asked, arguing again for the life of my sister. I couldn’t leave without her.

“Sweetheart..” the luna looked at me with tears in her eyes. I had seen those eyes before, I had seen the look that someone gives you when they give you the very worst news that you’ll ever hear.

“Say it.” I demanded, a piece of my soul was breaking when we heard howls in the distance but they weren’t from our pack. Levi hopped on one of the black bikes and put his hoodie up, “Their here, everybody get on a damn bike now.” He growled, igniting the motor and bringing it to life.

I turned my head in the direction of where the howls had been coming from and just the sight of them was enough to terrify me. They weren’t anything like what I had been expecting, their wasn’t anything normal about them and that made them monsters. They were a mixture of both super wolf and human, but they were bigger than any alpha that I have ever seen. They were closer to being seven feet tall in human form with blood flowing from their mouths and sharp canines that were longer than anything I had ever seen before.

The terrifying part was when I saw what one of their wolves looed like, they were twice the size of any normal wolf within the pack. Blood and dirt was practically matters into their fur while they growled at us. There would be no escape for us now, unless I left with them and prayed that we got away in time. We had at least one football field between the lycans and us and we could use that to our full advantage.

I looked at the luna, “Is she dead?” I asked, my words were shaky while I hoped onto the bike and brought the engine to life. The Luan tried to compose herself as she did the same, “yes, honey.” She whispered, her tears flowing down her face. I almost didn’t recognize teh luna that was in front of me right now. I didn’t recognize the woman in black jeans and a hoodie with combat boots. She looked nothing like the Luna I had spent my entire life trying to be, trying to become. She looked like the type of Luna that I want to become in the future though, the type of Luna that would go anywhere with my mates as long as we would be together in the end, no matter what.

I felt completely numb.

“Lets go.” I whispered, clutching the gas and riding off into the dark as fast I could. I can’t die like this. Not after everything my brother and I had goen through just to have this one moment, not after everything that we had gone through so that we could finally live a normal life, one without pain.

I guess even that was a lie.

Even now, even in the numbness of the news that the luna had given me. I could still feel the way my sisters absence would haunt me forever. My parents had never been right about the bond between my sister and I, there were never even right about the bond between my brother and I.

They could never understand having an attachment, not even to each other, they had always been cold and calculated. That was the problem with the bond between my siblings and i, we were warm, we were loving, we were protective, and we were understanding. We would always protect each other no matter what it would do to ourselves.

“How far do we need to go to get to a safe place” I asked. I needed to know how far we were going, how long would we be driving in the darkness and praying that our enemies didn't follow us.That they would be okay with just having our home. How long did I have to pretend that I was okay?

Then I heard it.

it was my worst nightmare reimagined since I found out about the lycans coming to hunt us down and kill us one by one. since the moment I knew that our lives would be changed for the worst.

I heard it in the dead of the night, I heard more than just our  six engines in the quiet of the night. Rubber against the dirt as the six of us rode as fast as we could.

I heard another engine, I heard another bike.
