Chapter 40

I pointed the fang at him and rushed him. He immediately blocked my hand. He was stronger than me, so I failed to kill him.

"I am not your enemy, Crema," he said to me calmly.

I stared at his face for a moment and I was immediately overcome with emotion. I guess I was too much in my emotions so I couldn't control myself. I immediately lowered my hand and apologized to him.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. I didn't mean it because I thought you were an enemy who was just in disguise," I apologized.

"It's okay, Crema," he answered.

He noticed my bleeding leg and bent down to look at it and cover it with a cloth. I was surprised when he suddenly picked me up.

When we arrived at the treatment room, the doctor immediately treated the bleeding wound on my leg. His face showed concern as he looked at me.

"What happened in the battle?" I asked.

"Don't worry everything is fine now. We won, Crema. Many of the enemies were killed and only a few of my pack were wounded," he replied calmly.

"It's good that way," I said, and smiled sparingly.

When the doctor came out, he came to me and knelt in front of me.

I was surprised when he apologized to me just because he failed to protect me. I didn't expect that even on this matter he would blame himself.

"Hey! Stand up there," I said.

"I'm sorry if I failed to protect you."he apologized.

"What are you! It's just like a tattoo and I haven't died yet. Don't overact like that," I replied to him.

He sighed at what I said, and he held my hand and kissed it. I felt the inexplicable connection he had with my body. An electricity that flowed inside me when he kissed my hand was really different.

"Still, I'm sorry," he said softly.

I want to laugh, he's so masculine, but he looks like a puppy if he stands in front of me. I just smile every time I think about how I tamed him like this.

Suddenly someone knocked on the door and he stood up to open it. I saw Aries simply peeking at me and they said goodbye for a while because they said they had something important to go to.

"Will you leave me here?" I asked.

"I will call Martha to watch over you here. We have something important to talk about. I promise I will get back," he answered.

I just nodded and was left alone in the room. After a while, I didn't realize that I fell asleep.

When I woke up, Martha appeared in front of me with food. She smiled at me and placed the food on the table next to the bed.

"How are you feeling, Crema?" she asked.

"I'm fine, Martha. This wound is only superficial," I answered, and smiled sparingly.

"I brought food for you. You need to eat to get stronger,"she said with a smile.

"Thank you very much, Martha," I thanked her.

My eyes searched for Alpha Dior so I asked Martha where their Alpha was. I think it's been a few hours, but he still hasn't returned.

"Where is Alpha?" I asked.

"I saw them with Aries earlier outside with the gammas. There seems to be a meeting going on,"she answered.

“Meeting? About what?" I asked curiously.

"I don't know, Crema. Let's just wait for Alpha to come back so he can tell you himself,"she answered.

I held my breath at what he said. Martha volunteered to give me a bite to eat, but I refused. I know I can eat by myself so I didn't bother her anymore.

"You can leave me here, Martha," I told her.

"I won't leave you until Alpha comes back. This is what he strictly ordered me to do, Crema," she responded.

I couldn't help but smile because of Alpha Dior's protectiveness towards me. But this is not a reason for me to forget the sin he committed against my family. This is just one part of my plan to avenge him.

"He's so very protective," I said with a smile.

"You are so lucky to have him, Crema. You are very lucky because the man you love loves you," she assumed.

I was suddenly swallowed my food by what she said. Suddenly my heart beat faster at that time. No! I don't love him and I will never love him.

"Are you okay?" Martha said in a panic while giving me water.

I drank water and tried to calm myself down. I was disgusted to think about why I was affected by what Martha said.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I answered.

"I'm sorry,"she apologized.

"You know I hope Aries is like that to me but he's not. I know he loves someone else and I want to know who that is,"she said sadly.

I remembered Aries confessing his feelings for me. I took a deep breath to calm myself from what I heard from Martha. I didn't let her know that I was affected.

"I think you should just give him time, Martha," I assumed.

"Time? For what?"she asked.

"For him to learn to love you or maybe he will realize one day that he loves you. You just need to give him space and focus on yourself. Remember that you are loved so much that if that day does not come, I am sure there is a man reserved for you who is ready to love and protect you," I answered with a smile.

He smiled at me, but the sadness was still evident in his eyes. I know he is hurt by what Aries is showing him, but no one can control Aries feelings and I felt sorry for her.

"I will wait for him like how Alpha is waiting for you," I said with a smile.

I smiled at what she said, and I remembered Daisy again in her personality. At least she is being honest about her feelings this time.

"I'm only here if you need someone to talk to," I said with a smile.

"Thank you, Crema" she responded, smiling.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door of the room, so Crema immediately stood up to open it. And when she opened it, she bowed to pay her respects, so I knew it was Alpha Dior.

I smiled at him and he smiled at me. He told Martha that she could leave and leave the two of us.Martha glanced at me and I nodded to her and smiled.

"You can go out, Martha. Thank you very much," he said with a smile.

Martha bowed in front of him before leaving the room. He came closer and looked at me seriously and examined my my wound on my left leg.

"How are you feeling?"he asked in a worried tone of voice.

"I'm fine. Maybe later I'll be able to walk properly,"I responded with a smile.

I could tell from his eyes that he was thinking deeply. But before I could ask him, he spoke to me first. And I became curious at what he was going to say.

"I want to tell you something," he said seriously.

"Sure, what is that all about?" I asked curiously.

"It's all about Aryana," he answered.

My blood boiled again when I heard that woman's name. Is she still thinking about Aryana? I thought she was already out of our lives. What is wrong with that woman?

"What about her?" I asked him again.

"I guess she will come back here, Am I right?" I asked flatly.

"Take it easy, Crema," he responded, calmly.

"Then tell me what?!" I asked firmly.

He didn't immediately answer my question and took a deep breath. I couldn't help but feel a little nervous about what he was going to say. It was a few seconds before he spoke and I was surprised by what I heard from him.
