Chapter 41
"She's dead," he said in a broken tone of voice.
I couldn't believe what I heard from him, but he was so serious as he looked at me. I asked him again to confirm what he said because maybe he was just joking, but it's true. Aries found Aryana's body that no one could recognize because her body parts were missing and only her clothes could confirm that he was that corpse.
"Are you sure about what you're saying, Alpha?" I asked him in disbelief.
"I'm sure, Crema. Aries found her body. The Rogues killed her mercilessly!" he answered firmly.
I don't know what to say or react to what I found out. I don't know if I will be happy or feel guilty about what I found out.
"But you know if there's anyone to blame here, it's me. I wish I hadn't allowed her to come back here. Her life was quiet and it only became chaotic when she chose to come back here because of the series of attacks in the Wound Woods, ”he answered.
"We are not always in control of the situation so don't blame yourself for what happened, Alpha" I insisted.
"Yeah, I know. But I can' help myself to feel guilty for what happened, Crema," he said seriously.
I just held my breath because even I felt guilty about what had happened to Aryana. But my desire to possess the heart and soul of the Alpha was still more dominant in my mind.
It's been a few days since the last time the Rogues attacked the Castle and Aryana died at their hands in the middle of the forest. I noticed that Alpha Dior has become quiet. He doesn't caress about me anymore and he's become too serious about training his pack inside the Arena.
While I was watching from the sidelines during their training, Martha came up to me and stood aside. She smiled at me and turned her gaze to Aries. I just shook my head when she noticed Aries, even though he wasn't paying attention to her. She combs her hair with her hand while smiling, and I'm disgusted to see that. Not because I'm jealous, but she looks like Stupid in that way just to get Aries attention. I don't want her to chase a man because for me, a man should chase a woman like what Alpha Dior did to me.
"Martha, stop acting like that! You're obviously crazy," I told her.
"You know I'm really crazy about him,"she replied with a smile.
"I don't know about you!" I said annoyed and just rolled my eyes.
I caught Alpha Dior's eyes on me, but he only smiled sparingly. I was disgusted to think why his behavior had changed suddenly since Aryana disappeared. Does he have a grudge against me?
I was restless at the thought, so I didn't hesitate to approach him after Training. I mustered up my courage and smiled seductively at him.
"Hi,Alpha" I greeted with a smile.
"Hey," he replied.
"How's your day?" I asked him with a smile.
"Well, all good. It's been busy in the past few days," he answered.
The old enthusiasm that he showed before was gone, and I was disgusted to think that maybe Aryana was really the reason. I couldn't stop myself from confronting him about the change he was showing me. But before I could speak, Eloisa suddenly approached us with a book. She smiled sweetly at him as she gave the book to him, and my blood warmed when I saw it.
"Thank you, Eloisa" he said, smiling.
"Thank you? What the heck!" said my mind.
"I had a hard time finding that book, but you are still lucky because I actually found it for you, my Alpha," Eloisa said with a smile.
"It's okay. Thank you so much, Eloisa," he said with a smile.
I caught Eloisa glancing at me while she was smiling. Is this woman really teasing me?
I didn't beat her and I boldly competed on her to get Alpha Dior's attention.
"What book is that, Alpha?" I asked curiously.
"It's the prophecy," he answered.
“Prophecy?” I asked curiously.
"It's a prediction of what will happen in the future," he answered seriously.
I was curious and interested to read the book he was holding. But he refused my request because he said it was not possible. I just rolled my eyes and said to him, It's fine. Maybe I can find a way to read that book of prophecy.
"Okay I respect it, Alpha" I replied.
"Uhmm, Alpha, I wish I could do you a favor," Eloisa said with a smile.
I frowned at Eloisa's words. My patience with this woman is about to run out. And I'm disgusted to see Alpha Dior entertaining everything she says.
"Sure, what is that, Eloisa?"he asked.
"Can you teach me how to fight so that I can protect myself. I'm always looking at the library and it makes me bored. If you don't mine, dear Alpha," Eloisa answered with a smile.
"Wait, you can ask for other, right?" I raised my eyebrows and said to her.
"I can't promise, Eloisa. Right now I have a lot to take care of, especially It's been a few days since the successive attacks of the Rogues. But you can join Adriana, Alexis in training and the rest of the pack," Alpha said.
Martha suddenly came and invited me to go to the kitchen to get food that we would deliver to the guards who were guarding the prison. I was surprised because this was the first time she would have me deliver food to the basement.
"It's a miracle that you ask me to be with you, Martha" I told her.
"Honestly, I just wanted to interrupt because I can see the tension between you and Eloisa is hot,"she admitted.
"Martha!" I said annoyed.
I just held my breath at what she said to me. Honestly, I also wanted to talk to her about the change that was noticed in Alpha Dior. I was restless, especially when I remembered what Eloisa had said to me. But Alpha Dior promised me, and he did. Could just break it.
"Are you okay, Crema?" I asked.
Honestly, I want to go back to the Arena and confront Alpha Dior if he has a problem with me or if he is angry. But wait, why am I hurt by what he shows? No! I'm not hurt; I'm just mad with that woman because my plan will be ruined by chance. I'm the only one she should chase. I'm the only one she should love, not that woman. My plans can't come to nothing.
"Are you okay, Crema?" Martha asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I answered.
A few moments later, we reached the front of the door and we entered the kitchen to get the food prepared by the Arwanas. But when I entered the kitchen, my blood suddenly warmed when I heard their conversation.
