Chapter 164 Steven Teaches Bianca a Lesson
"Just drop it off and leave quickly." Philip's attitude toward her wasn't very friendly.
"Nora kicked me so hard, it really hurts." Bianca put on an affected act.
"I saw it - you hit Nora first." Philip said coldly, "This is our company. Don't cause trouble here, or I'll have security escort you out."
Bianca immediately backed down, not daring to act up in front of Philip.
Philip walked over to Nora. "Nora, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Is that package ready?" Nora asked him.
Philip nodded. "Yes, it's all packed. I'll have an employee find you the best shipping rate and get it sent out tonight."
"Thank you so much! Just let me know how much the shipping costs, and I'll transfer the money to you." Nora was really grateful to Philip. Big companies had access to really good shipping rates - small companies usually couldn't get such good discounts.
"I'll treat you to dinner next time." After saying this, Nora remembered the shirt and took it out of her bag. "Philip, this shirt is yours."
Bianca saw Nora hand Philip a shirt and got really angry.
Bianca cursed inwardly: 'Bitch, stealing that big client was shady enough, and now you dare give Philip a shirt?'
Since this was the Thompson family's company, Bianca didn't make a move. If they were outside, Bianca would have scratched Nora's face already!
After returning the shirt, Nora left.
Bianca's face was full of resentment. As soon as Nora left, she followed her out.
Philip had an employee take Nora's package to ship it. After thinking about it, he felt something was off about Bianca's expression earlier and immediately went after them.
The two women had already taken the elevator down to the first floor.
Philip caught the next elevator down.
"Nora!" Bianca chased her to the entrance of Harman Tower, lunged forward, and clawed at Nora's face.
Nora wasn't prepared, and Bianca scratched her near the eye. She yanked the bag off her shoulder and swung it hard at Bianca.
"Stop it!"
Philip rushed out of the building, pulled Bianca away, and protected Nora in his arms. "Bianca, that's enough! Are you out of your mind?"
Bianca pointed at Nora angrily. "Philip, I can avoid making a scene in your company, but outside, don't try to stop me. This bitch scammed our company's money, sold us a useless account, and I need to settle this with her!"
"Bianca, stop talking nonsense." Nora was being protected by Philip. Just as she was about to step out of his embrace, she felt an icy stare fall on her.
Nora turned around and saw Steven wearing a black mask standing not far away, with James behind him.
James, nearly 6'3" tall, stood there with an imposing presence that felt overwhelming.
Bianca tried to hit Nora again, but James grabbed her hand first, twisted it behind her back, and restrained her.
"Let go of me!" Bianca couldn't move and struggled.
James gave her a cool glance and ignored her.
"What are you doing here?" Steven walked over, looking down at Nora and Philip with displeasure in his eyes.
Philip was startled, feeling that this man's features and build looked very familiar, but he was wearing a mask, so he couldn't see his face clearly.
"Honey!" Nora ran toward the tall man.
Philip heard this, and his whole body shook.
Bianca took the opportunity to say, "Philip, did you hear that? Nora's already married, and that's her husband!"
Philip looked over, his eyes full of sadness.
Had he come back too late?
Was Nora already married?
"You're here." Nora held Steven's hand. There were several bloody scratches on her eye area from Bianca's nails.
Very noticeable.
Steven looked at the wound near her eye, his gaze carrying authority. "Who scratched your eye?"
"Bianca," Nora answered.
Bianca immediately shouted, "I only hit her because your wife was seducing my man!"
She deliberately slandered Nora.
Philip's face turned cold. "Bianca, don't talk nonsense!"
Then he said politely to Steven, "Actually, Nora came to my company to ship something, and Bianca saw her. She misunderstood, that's all. She's very jealous and bullies people randomly. She's the one who caused trouble for your wife for no reason."
Philip was an upright gentleman. Although he liked Nora, he wouldn't harm her.
Steven's eyes were icy cold as he looked at Nora.
Nora nodded. "That's right. Because I came to ship that big order, Bianca found out. She said I scammed Apex Technologies Corporation and wanted to settle accounts with me."
After hearing this, Steven's expression improved a bit. He stared at Bianca, his eyes turning cold again. "Fine, let's settle accounts with her then."
For some reason, Bianca felt very scared being stared at by Steven.
Even though Steven only had his eyes showing, she felt her whole body trembling.
"Apex Technologies Corporation signed an agreement with my wife's shop. How is there any fraud?" Steven looked down at Bianca, his body giving off a cool, light fragrance.
Bianca suddenly wondered why Nora had such good luck to find such a good husband.
Steven continued, "If you can't explain it, we'll sort it out in court."
"I'll explain!" Bianca pressed her lips together. "When we bought that shop from Nora, we bought it for that big client. She secretly took the big client away, then sold us a useless shop and scammed our money..."
Before Bianca could finish, Steven gave James a look.
James slapped Bianca.
Bianca was dizzy from the slap and said breathlessly, "Why are you hitting me?"
"For talking nonsense." Steven's tone was cold. "I know about the shop sale too. What was sold was the shop, not the client. If you're not clear about it, call your brother and ask. Once you understand and clear up the misunderstanding, apologize to Nora. Otherwise, I'll take you to court."
Bianca was stunned.
She didn't expect this man to be so fierce!
She suddenly thought of that unbeatable lawyer Alton, who was supposedly Nora's husband's friend and probably their backer too.
"Fine, I'll call my brother." Bianca wanted to find some support.
Steven didn't stop her. Let her call, so they could clear things up, and she wouldn't keep bad-mouthing them all the time.
Nora didn't expect Steven to stand up for her. She really felt a bit protected.
Nora felt a bit warm inside and looked at Philip, who nodded gently at her, meaning to wish her well.
Nora smiled at him.
Steven, next to her, glared at her, his face dark. "Still trying to seduce men?"
His voice wasn't loud; only Nora could hear it.
Nora frowned and hit him. "You're the one seducing men, I'm not."
She smiled at Philip because Philip had just helped explain to her, and Philip was a good person who had just helped her pack the goods.
Anyway, Steven wasn't very happy and didn't want to talk to Nora.
Bianca called Willie. She told him what happened with embellishments, wanting Willie to come support her.
Right now, she was alone, outnumbered.
Willie was at home discussing Olivia's situation with Eleanor. When he heard Bianca's words, he scolded her harshly. "Bianca, stop causing trouble for me!"
They were trying to figure out how to appease Olivia, and Bianca was going after Nora. Bianca really knew how to stir up trouble!
Bianca said unhappily, "Willie, I'm doing this for Apex Technologies Corporation! Don't you care that she scammed us out of money?"
Willie had been a bit angry before.
But later he thought it through - they never paid her a salary anyway, so just consider it her wages for those two years.
Willie said, "That shop was indeed under contract. What was signed was for the shop, not the client. The law firm has already notarized this; there's no way to overturn it. Also, you caused this problem yourself, so you solve it. Apologize if you need to apologize, make amends if you need to make amends - you figure it out!"
With that, Willie hung up.
Bianca didn't expect Willie to just abandon her like this!
She was doing this for Apex Technologies Corporation!
Actually, Bianca was doing it for Philip, but she just wouldn't admit it!
But after the phone call, she still had to face Nora and her husband. Bianca clutched her phone, wanting to escape.
But James caught her and brought her back.
"Did you figure things out?" Steven said, looking at her.
Bianca was trembling with fear and wisely admitted her mistake. "I'm sorry, Nora. So your agreement with my brother was to sell the shop. I thought it was to sell the client before. I misunderstood you, sorry."
"What about this?" Steven pointed to the scratches on Nora's face, his voice cold. "How are you going to make up for this?"
Bianca said timidly, "Nora, you hit me too."
"I didn't see that," Steven said coldly. "I only saw you hit my wife."
Bianca was at a loss for words. This time, she couldn't even complain. After hesitating for a while, she said, "How about this - I'll pay two hundred dollars for medical expenses?"
Steven snorted coldly, his gaze intimidating. "We don't want money. Slap yourself twice, hard enough to leave a mark on your face, and we'll call it even."
Leave a mark? How hard would I have to hit myself?
Bianca didn't want to and glared at Steven.
But she was so scared by Steven's presence that she didn't dare lift her head. Finally, out of fear, she slapped herself twice hard.
The first time, no mark appeared on her face.
James took the cue and said, "No mark means it doesn't count. Hit harder."
Bianca started crying. This was the first time in her life she'd been bullied and humiliated like this. She bit her lip and looked at Philip for help. "Philip..."
Philip looked away as if he hadn't seen anything.
Bianca's expression was aggrieved.
James shouted, "Hurry up and hit yourself!"
Bianca jumped in fright and quickly slapped herself twice hard.
The force was so strong that even Nora frowned slightly. For Bianca to strike herself so hard, she must be truly desperate.
Bianca cried after slapping herself.
Steven looked at her coldly. "If you bully Nora again for no reason, it won't be this simple to settle."
With that, he put his arm around Nora and left.
