Chapter 156 CHAPTER 156

JACK

“Robin!” I called from beneath the staircase, waiting for the only reason I remain alive to step down.

“Almost done!” She called back.

“I still can’t come along?” Mag’s voice cut through the air, dragging me around to her little body levitating on the surface of the in-built pool.

“Get out of there, Mag. It’s late. And no, you’re not coming along.” I made my way to her, swiping a towel from a nearby rail and draping it around her shoulder when she splashed out of the pool in an angry burst.

Jesus, I needed Cathy here full time. Margaret never listened to any of our new house keepers. They couldn’t talk her defiant self out of anything, except her sister and me.

“Go dry yourself and stay out of the water. I need you alive.”

“I have professional swimming lessons three times a week, Jack.” She pouted. “I don’t think I’m going to drown anytime soon.”

The little fucker!

Only stayed a year and half with us and she practically had me on edge every fucking time. She got her sass from her sisters, no fucking doubt. Heaven help me with her.

“You’re not swimming at eight p.m. because Jack says so.”

“And because you’re always right?” She retorted.

“Fuck I am! Be a good little girl and climb up to your room.”

She pulled the ends of her towel closer to her body before turning to leave on a grunt, shooting me the eye. Fucking hell! I shook my head a little and huffed, almost stumbling over when I returned my gaze to the staircase, a mythical vision materialising before me. Her beauty purely indescribable, surreal and nonexistent. I was fucking blessed to be by her side every single day of my lucky days.

“My, Goodness.” I whispered in my trance state, eyes roving the full length of her petite body, not knowing what else to fucking say. She smiled, I gulped, looking at her like a helpless fool.

More than two fucking years together and it would seem I never got used to her beauty and I never will. It was as if I was seeing her for the very first time.

My fucking Christ! My dick shot up, chaos building viciously in my trousers. Not fucking now, mate. I tried a calming approach to relax but there was fuck I could do about it—my cock had taken a mind of its own.

“How do I look.” She asked quietly, taking delicate steps towards me, my eyes cemented on her face.

Should anyone be permitted to look this perfect?

“My waist isn’t slim like before. Do you think it’s okay in the dress?”

Did I think?

“Nonsense.” I pulled her closer by her lovely waist, pressing my lips to her cheek. “Your waist looks perfect… you’re perfect, baby.” She had been spewing this nonsense about her waistline not looking the same ever since giving birth to our beautiful babies, and each time I had scolded her, telling her how wrong she was, and emphasising on her perfection. She was still the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on, ever experienced, ever touched, ever loved. No one came close to her.

No one ever could.

“Are you sure?” I kissed her gently on the lips, hoping it would shut her up from spouting more ridiculous stuff. But it didn’t. Knowing Robin, she went on regardless. “The baby weight has come off but my sto—”

“My words are not to be debated. Your stomach looks fucking glorious. Your body is so divine I can watch you forever… and you’re mine. Drop it!” I kissed her again.

“You’re destroying my makeup.” Her lovely mouth puckered, I simpered. There was no way I could live without her.

“You should know, Robin…”  Her lips curled into a soft smile. “I have never been able to control myself around you. Not even when I wanted to.”

“Oh no.” She fluttered her lashes, fanning a hand beneath her eyes. “Don’t make me ruin this makeup, Jack. Angel spent hours getting me ready.” She laughed softly. Then very slowly I leaned in, kissing the tears gathering at the corners of her eyes.

“There. They’re gone.”

“I love you, Jack.”

“I know, lady.

She reached for me, rising onto the tips of her heels and cupping my face possessively, drawing me down to her lips before gently wiping the traces of her lipstick from my mouth.

“We’re going to be late.”

“Should we have a quickie?”

She gave out a cheeky laugh, batting my hands away from grabbing her waist. “No. You’re going to have me after dinner.” I groaned, she laughed, pulling me by the wrist towards our parking house. She should be glad I didn’t make myself a dead weight.

I rushed to the passenger side and opened her door before taking her hand in mine, guiding her into a familiar ambiance. She gasped softly as we touched the entrance, her hand hovering just over her mouth, mindful she didn’t disrupt her makeup.

“I can recognise this place with my eyes closed.”

I knew that to be true. Nothing much had changed since the last we were here, if anything I’d instructed to have the place looking exactly like it did a year and half ago.

Elegant. Exquisite. Breathtaking.
