Chapter 158 158

Chapter 158 158
Lysandra~~

Miriam came to the hospital soon and spent a little time with me before leaving. I was in a panic, sobbing without a stop. How do I stand staying here when I know my pups could be in danger?

Each time I shut my eyes, I saw them wailing, lying on a bare, chilly floor. My breastmilk was leaking after several times of pumping out a lot and storing it. The more I tried to get a strong mind and believe they would be fine, I felt I was the coldest mum ever.

My mum never abandoned me, or I wouldn't be alive today. I couldn't stand losing my pups after all the pain I went through in the labor room, so I thought of a way to sneak out of the hospital.

I paid attention to the time the nurses came to check on me, and when I also called Miriam, and she assured me she would get to the hospital in a few hours, I decided to leave before she arrived. I left the hospital premises and, while striding down the road and waiting for a cab, I checked my cell phone.

As I reached the bus stop nearer, I sat down to go through the different messages I had gotten in these few days in the hospital. They kept using the same address, urging me to come alone and take my kids.

“Could it be true? The address isn't fake?” I muttered and tried checking the contact, but it was still a private one that I couldn't get access to. “I should get to that place first,” I said to myself, and stood up to the side so I could get a cab.

When I got one, I told the driver the address I was heading to, and he said his charge, which I paid before he took off. According to him, the address was outside of the clan, so it would take hours to locate, and he couldn't trust getting his payment after we reached, because most people end up paying half of it due to the cost.

In the car, I prayed to the moon goddess to keep my pups safe until I arrived there. I wished to see them safe before speaking of whatever it would cost to take them away.

Soon, Clement and Miriam began bombarding me with calls. I even got a message from King Dennis asking where I was headed, but I ignored them all and silently changed the tone of my caller tune so they wouldn't disturb me.

How on earth did they expect a mum to keep calm for days when her pups are not in safe hands? It's three days, yet nothing has happened…and Ramsey wasn't saved. If I lost Ramsey, should I also lose my pups?

We were on the ride for over three hours before the car came to a stop. I alighted and then checked the address again, so I began using my map so as not to miss the route.

I was scared…so scared. I could hear the loud beating of my heart in my chest, and I just hoped that this risk that I took would yield something.

Once my cell phone began beeping, I checked to see that the building I was standing in front of was the one I was to come into. My fingers tightened on my dress. I was in panic, but I still needed to do this.

I slipped my cell phone into my side pocket, walking slowly towards the building. I hadn't even reached closer when someone hit my head from behind.

My palm went straight to my head, and dizziness struck my mind. I slumped to my knees, fighting the urge to pass out…but couldn't succeed.

The cries of babies kept ringing in my ears, getting louder by each second, until I couldn't stand it and forced my eyes open. I was having a headache, one that made me groan silently as I sat up. I managed to look around, and I was in the building, with no one watching me.

I darted my eyes around, and my pups were some feet away from me, crying so loud like they were abandoned.

Without thinking twice, I hurried closer and slowly carried them into my arms one after the other. I didn't need to breastfeed them one at once, but had them suck my nipples even though I knew it wasn't hygienic.

“Oh goddess, you are so hungry…” I gasped, staring at their faces as they suckled tenderly, and had also stopped crying. “Mummy is here, okay? I'm not leaving you two again.” I muttered, tears fighting to drop down from my eyes.

I felt so guilty and even deserved to be punished. For three days, they starved.

Who the fuck took them from me?

They were still suckling when I heard the footsteps of someone. I turned to the direction the sound came from, waiting to see who the hell did this to my kids…and was shocked when my sister came into the light.

She wore a sinister smile and squatted some feet away from us. “How do you feel seeing them again?”

“Eden?! Why did you do that to my kids?” I yelled at her, and she rather laughed at me. “It's not funny! If you want to get at me, you could come directly and not hurt innocent souls. Do you feel alright after starving them here?”

She stood and resumed walking closer, “I didn't even know they would survive till you came, so I think they are just as strong as their parents,” she uttered and winked at me, causing a knot to twist in my gut. “Now that you three are bonded again, I should go ahead with my plan.”

My brows drew together. “What plan are you talking about?”

“The one you escaped from, and caused me this stress. I aim to bring you, your pups, Jonathan, and his mum down. I succeeded in bringing down that evil woman he calls a mum, and now he is nothing but a wanderer disguised as a prince. Once I'm done with you, I will be the happiest ever,” she stated and grabbed a gallon, which she unsealed.

My lips moved, and I asked her, “Tell me what you want, and I am going to do it for you.”

She scoffed, “Your life, Lysandra! That's what I want,” she answered and began pouring the content in the gallon all over the place. It smelled so bad like petrol, and I didn't need to be told what awaited us.

“So, you put up that fire that I escaped from? What are you going to gain from this? Just tell me what you want, and I'm going to do it. Is it Jonathan? Or his brother? Whatever! I'm going to leave this clan for you.” I yelled, tears streaking down my face.

I didn't want to imagine myself burning with the kids, so I quickly got on my feet and carried my pups like my everything that they were.

“Eden, I'm going to hand over everything I own to you. My bank account, my position, the company… I will give you everything, provided you stop doing this.” I lamented, but she paid less attention to us.

I didn't want to drop my kids, or it might be too late.

As Clement said, I am in a state where I cannot even save myself, talk to someone, and I could feel how weak my lycan and I were, so fighting her could lead to my death faster than it was supposed to be

“I have never loved you, Sandra. You got everything you wanted from childhood until your parents passed on. Now you are the clan luna, and with the best man every woman wants. You now have your twin pups and are the director of your father's company.” She shook her head and threw the empty gallon to the side. “But look at me, despite all my efforts to be a good girl to my father, he thinks I'm worth nothing more than being a lover girl to men. He thinks I should work hard on my own and make him proud. I had to sleep with men just to train myself through college, but my dad was capable of doing it for me.”

I took a deep gulp, surprised to hear that from her, because I had always thought otherwise.

“I have the worst father ever, a father who doesn't even respect his wife but cheats on her with that evil woman because of money. He refuses to work hard like your dad and wants me to do that for him. I have nothing, but you have it all. I hate you for having the best parents, and not the best husband,” she sneered, but I could see through her pain.

How was my sister going through all that, and I didn't know? I lived with them for years; they mistreated me, so I didn't pay attention to any of them.

“Sandra, you should have gotten parents like mine. A father who cares less about his child, and a mother who is so useless and can't be of help. You should have gotten a mate who would dump you after several sacrifices…and I wouldn't have been mad with you.”

I exhaled heavily and walked closer, “And you didn't know that your dad and Jonathan's mum were responsible for my father's death?”

She hissed, “My dad killed no one. It was your father who took all their father's assets to himself, leaving my dad with nothing, and then he transferred the pain to me.”

I shook my head, "That's not true, Eden. That company was created by my dad and the late king; it's a joint company and not generational wealth. Your dad could have just asked my dad for help instead of killing him off after allying with Jonathan's mum….” I took a breath and bit my lower lip.

She didn't seem to believe me, and I was also shocked by all that I was hearing.

How many people did they deceive with their lies?

Eden brought out the lighter she was holding, “If you die with your pups, everything will be okay with me,” she said and began leaving.

“Don't leave, Eden. Don't light that, please.” I screamed, but she kept smiling devilishly as she turned her back on me.
