Chapter 157 157
Chapter 157 157
Lysandra~~
It had been two days since I began staying in the apartment with Miriam, but I had sent her out on an errand to get some groceries for us since we had nothing left to eat.
While I was bathing one of my pups that had messed up herself, my new cell phone kept ringing, and the caller hid his or her contact. I do not answer such calls, but because of the situation around me, I thought it could be someone important calling.
Having thought that, I picked up the call when it rang the third time, but I refused to speak until the caller did.
The clock ticked. For a minute, no one said a thing from the other end, so I angrily hung up and promised to ignore the future calls.
“You two have to sleep so I can rest as well. All my joints are hurting me.” I muttered while taking the pup to join her brother in the inner room where I made for them. I patted their backs gently until I felt they had slept off as I wished, so I tiptoed out of the room and gently shut the door.
They could wake up by a little sound, and then it would take eternity for them to sleep again.
I gasped for breath, standing in the middle of the room, “I should take my back before Miriam returns. I will have a lot to do at that time.” I mumbled under my breath and began undressing.
Miriam had gotten her personal cooking appliances so we could use them until we returned to the palace. It was actually new to me, because they were smaller and a little difficult for me to operate, but still okay to be used.
I entered the bathroom, humming a tune while gently scrubbing the little towel on my body. I hadn't even asked about Ramsey in these two days, because I had been so busy with us settling. Once I got out of the bathroom, I would reach Clement and hear how he's doing.
After just a little time in the bathroom, I walked out to the doorbell ringing. “Miriam, is that you?” I had to ask first.
“Yes, Luna!” she responded.
With a grin, I walked to the door and unlocked it.
She walked in and, after exchanging pleasantries, walked straight to the kitchen.
“I'll join you soon,” I said to her loudly, entering the inner room so I could get on something light.
But she chuckled, “You don't need to when it's my job.”
“Your job? Who said it is?” I hissed gently and walked into the inner room. My eyes went straight to the bed where I had laid the pups, and the bed was empty. I rubbed my eyes again and again, stared at the bed intently, and I happened not to be mistaken.
“When did I get an eye problem? I was fine all the time.” I muttered and left the room.
After some time, I entered again, hoping that things would change, but the bed was still empty. My knees buckled together, but I pushed them to the bed, and I began touching the whole space, yet didn't feel their presence.
“Miriam!!” I yelled, my eyes turning watery, and my breath hitching. “Miriam?”
“Luna, is everything okay?” She dashed into the room and stood at the door. “What's wrong with you?”
I crawled down from the bed and asked her, “Can you see my pups on the bed? I laid them here before getting in to take a bath. They were asleep when I left.”
She walked closer, shaking her head, “Am I having an eye problem? I can't see them here. Are you sure you laid them here?”
“Are you crazy?” I snapped at her, then took a deep gulp. “No! All this should be a joke. The door was perfectly locked, so it's not like I was careless with them.” I uttered, my voice sounding breathless. “I should check again,” I added and left the room.
This time, I entered the bathroom, checked around, before walking into the first room. I took my right into the inner bedroom, and Miriam was standing beside the bed, yet the bed was empty.
My breath caught in my throat that moment. I couldn't help but let those hot tears stream down my cheeks. I felt as though my whole body was cutting off through the joints.
“This can't be happening. My pups, where are they?” I cried out, finally getting to my knees. “I hadn't ever hurt anyone. Why should I be passing through all these? Those kids are innocent; they are my life, so how will I survive if I lose them?”
My head was spinning, and I was losing control over myself. I wouldn't ever forgive myself if this were reality.
“Let it be a dream, please. I can't stand it.”
“You have to put yourself together first. They don't have legs, so probably, someone must have taken them.” Miriam said, squatted beside me. “What happened after I left?”
I shook my head, “Nothing! I just bathed my baby girl, and….” I bit my lower lip, recalling the private contact who called me. I held Miriam, “Look, there's a private number that called me. I picked up and said nothing, and the caller didn't say a thing either. Everywhere was locked before I entered the bathroom.”
“Then we have to start searching for them right now,” she said and stood, trying to help me up. “Luna, please, you can't get hurt too.”
My vision had finally blurred. I felt the ground I was standing on was moving around, and I would fall anytime soon.
“Can you walk?” she asked, and I shook my head.
I placed my right palm on my forehead, “Call Clement. He has to come over. He needs to alert the bikers, too, because they have a strategy.”
“Fine!” She let go of me and left, so I staggered forward all by myself.
I didn't even know how long I walked, but I didn't reach the door before my head began throbbing so bad that I thought someone was slamming a brick on my head.
My lycan was strangely quiet too, and I couldn't stand for so long. I got to my knees, my tears hotter than before.
“Please, you two should be strong like your parents. Don't leave me empty-handed in this world after the time we shared. Mummy loves you so much, and you haven't even felt Daddy's love.” I kept mumbling under my breath until my mind slowly began getting dark.
I didn't want to pass out. I wanted to be strong and find my pups, but I lost myself soon and was drowned in the darkness that I had always hated.

Heaven bear me witness, but I lost count of the times I came to this hospital in this state.
When I woke up, I was surrounded by about four doctors, and I didn't even know what they were discussing about me. I moved my finger, struggled to open my eyes, but couldn't.
I couldn't breathe properly, and that was one thing that even bothered me most.
“Once the infusion is finished, we will check on her again.” I heard a male doctor say, but his voice wasn't familiar.
I tried to speak, so they could see that I was awake, yet my lips couldn't even move.
My lycan seemed to be struggling with me, too. We happen to be in such trauma that I didn't know we would ever pass through.
For someone who just went to bed less than three months ago, I hadn't gotten a good rest ever, and I think every part of me craved it.
Since I couldn't even draw the attention of the doctors, I relaxed my mind and happened to doze off. So by the time I woke up the second time, I felt so light from head to toe, and my lycan purred in my head.
“Luna!” I heard Clement's voice before, so I quickly opened my eyes that weren't heavy anymore. “You're good, right?” he asked, and I nodded, taking a good look at the infusion that was still dropping, but almost done. “Miriam called to me, but you passed out before I even came.”
My pups…
I recalled everything so fresh in my head.
“What about them? Any clue?” I asked, and he shook his head. “Has anything been done?” he shook his head again.
My jaw dropped.
“What do you mean? My pups are missing and….” I winced as the side of my head throbbed.
He rather helped me lie back on the bed, “You haven't fully recovered, so worry about yourself for now.”
“Are you okay, Clement? We are talking about my kids here.”
“I know!” he said and squatted beside the bed. “The councils and the bikers refused to act. They believe all these are tactics to prevent them from restoring the king, and I can say that it's true. Why are all these things happening now when we have little time left?”
That's so foolish!
“So, what if I lost them? I wouldn't forgive any of you.” I said, my voice shaking.
He pressed his lips together and stood up. “There's nothing I can even do. Although the hackers are trying to find the location of the private contact who called you, even if they find the location, nothing will be done for now.”
“This isn't fair! How am I supposed to stay without seeing them?” I broke down in tears. “Clement, please, you have to find them or let me just get out of here and do so.”
He held me back on the bed. “You are not strong enough to even defend yourself, so don't think of that.”
