Chapter 159 159

Chapter 159 159
Lysandra~~

She had already turned on the lighter when the door was hit heavily, causing her to stumble back. The lighter slipped from her hand down to the floor, and the fire began spreading so fast.

I held my pups tighter, looking around if there was another exit. But Jonathan came into the light that moment and grabbed Eden by her jacket. He landed a heavy blow across her face, less concerned about the fire burning in the room.

My feet fastened towards the door, and I tried to open it, paying less attention to what was going on between the two of them. But the door was locked up, and i didnt know the code to open it.

Jonathan growled, and he smacked Eden heavily, sending her to the floor, “We should all die at once, because that's what you always wanted.”

“I'm not fucking dying with you!!” she yelled, getting to her feet. “I should have killed you first.”

Jonathan pulled out his jacket. I couldn't even fathom the kinda anger that was burning in him, which was making her hit a woman that way. I knew they had been dating, and that…

Oh, my goddess! How did I forget that Eden caused him to lose everything he worked for?

Eden was bleeding through her nose from his hits, and he didn't seem to be letting her go anytime soon.

“I'm going to send you to the afterlife to meet my mum, you idiot,” he growled, slamming his fist against her face again, his breath raspy that I could hear it.

Was he searching for Eden? He must…

But I needed to leave before the fire got closer to where I was. I was beginning to feel the heat already, and there was no other door than the one they came in from. I hit the door with my legs several times, hoping that it would open by that attack, but the sound bounced back at me.

My heart was trembling. I feared dying here with them, and even broke into tears.

“I shouldn't have trusted you the few times I did, Sandra…” I heard Jonathan say behind me. “The first mistake I made was agreeing to the arranged marriage with you.”

I swallowed the lump that rose to my throat, not even attempting to turn around.

“If we died here, I wouldn't even be satisfied. So, of what use would it be? Will your death and that of the pups cause Ramsey to never be well again?” he asked and walked just before me. “Tell me what to do right now, because the fire is spreading faster, and there's no way to ask for help here.”

At that moment, words were too heavy to leave my lips. I didn't even know what to do, and just hated that I came between the enmity of two brothers, having to bear the pains of what I didn't know about.

“I don't mind if I lose my senses, but I'm going to bring an end to all of you that caused me pain,” he yelled, and I bit my lower lip.

I sniffed, “Did you do that to your mum too? As much as I know, she's the cause of all these, and my pups know nothing. I am the victim here, so don't even mention that again.”

“Youre crazy to think I care about your pups!!” he breathed out and scoffed at my face. “Why would that bastard have a generation when I have none?”

I looked him dead in the eyes, “Go make peace with your dad, and you're going to get back on your feet.”

“Shut that crap!!” he raised his hands to hit me when the roof made a sound.

I shifted too close to the door as the fire was getting so close.

Eden was lying weak and bleeding on the floor, and I do not even pity her anymore.

The sound on the roof continued until it was pulled off completely…then came a splash of water from there, turning off the fire. It continued that way until they began jumping into the building one after the other.

Due to the water splash, I couldn't even open my eyes, but moved to the wall and leaned there, my body covering my pups.

Thank goddess, they were firefighters.

Once the fire was turned off completely, the door was kicked from the outside. I didn't move from where I was until the door was kicked down completely, and a lot of men walked in at once.

“Luna?” one of them mentioned, and I finally broke into tears.

“I'm here!” I responded, and it happened to be Hunter. He walked towards me, and another came as well, so they took the pups from me. “How did you find me? I lost hope already….”

Hunter patted my shoulder, “You took a big risk, but I'm glad we were fast enough,” he said and signalled the others to help me out.

I didn't even glance at Jonathan or Eden anymore and just left with them. Their bikes were scattered all over the place, and ahead were a car and three firefighter vehicles parked.

The car door opened for me, and I climbed in. I was so focused on taking my pups from them when someone touched me from behind.

Slowly, with my heart still racing, I turned around, and behind me was Ramsey, looking weak, but wearing a soft smile. My breath caught in my throat at the sight of him. I didn't want this to be a dream, and I couldn't even hold back.

“I'm fine, okay?” he said again and shut his eyes.

My lips quivering, I turned to Hunter, and he simply gave a single nod before I took my pups. As they shut the door, I turned back to Ramsey, and he seemed to have dozed off.

Oh goddess! I couldn't speak; my chest was so heavy.

Where should I even start?

They really meant it when they said they weren't leaving until their king was awake? What if they didn't show up? I would have gotten burned in that building because there was no escape route, and my lycan was too weak to slam her body on the door.

Hunter drove the car, and the other bikers followed us back to the palace. All my attention was on Ramsey, who never opened his eyes until we reached the palace.

As the car stopped in the garage, Miriam and Clement rushed to me and carried my pups from me. I helped Ramsey down from the car and wrapped my arm around his.

“How do you feel?” I asked him in a whisper, and he gave a nod. “Does your body still hurt?”

“A little, but I'm recovering quicker, so worry less,” he said to me, his tone so assuring as it had always been.

We went into the palace building that had already been unlocked, and the servants were running around every corner. We entered the elevator together with Miriam, Clement and Hunter, as they helped bring in my pups.

“Hunter, what happened to them?” Ramsey asked as we got into one of the rooms, and he sat down on the sofa there.

“King Dennis took over from there as you wished. The chief gamma and his lady have been arrested too, so he will pass judgment on judgement to them with the evidence presented.” Hunter elaborated gently. “The councils also went over to his clan, and they would be back once the prosecution and penalty are declared on them.”

Ramsey nodded, “I am not going to be active for a week, because I need enough rest. But you must do your job well and report to me if there's anything.”

“Yes, my King!” he bowed and made his way out.

Miriam and Clement left afterwards, and I was just left with Ramsey alone.

I stood in the middle of the house, staring at him whom I spoke to in his beastly form. “I sincerely couldn't imagine losing you, Ramsey. I almost lost hope.”

He signalled me to come closer, and I sat on his thighs, "You're very strong, and I love you for that. I owe you and our pups an apology for not being there all through, but I also love that I got to the end of all this, and we will stay peaceful henceforth,” he said, running his fingers in my hair.

I leaned on his body to feel his heartbeat once again.

“If anyone should be executed, then my uncle should take that cross. Listening to Eden saying all those things about her father and how she had been treated by him, I was so shocked to my nerves. How could a father be that cruel? He should die a painful death just like Jonathan's mum.” I muttered, rubbing my fingers on his neck. “He killed my dad, mistreated his family too, and was cheating on his wife with Jonathan's mum.”

He kept patting my back until I felt my heartbeat returning to normal.

After some time with him, he went to the bed where the pups lay and carried them at once into his arms.

Watching as they moved their hands and legs, staring back at their dad, I felt so happy that we had to stay together again.

“Have you given them a name?” he asked, and I shook my head. “Then we shouldn't for now.”

I looked at him, “Why is that?”

“They will be crowned at three years, so they will be named at that time.”

“Three years is too little.” I opposed it, but it seems he wanted it that way. “No problem then! Are we going to have another pup?”

He shook his head, “I can't cause you delivery pain again. Since they came out at once, we are done.”

I giggled and leaned my head on his shoulder, “If you say so, then I'm good too.”
