Chapter 21 Her punishment
I felt myself float for a moment before hard arms wrapped around my body and that familiar scent wafted into my nostrils.
I opened my eyes and realized we were heading to the floor together. Just before we hit the floor, I saw it clearly. Big thick glasses designed the floor.
My heart skipped a beat at this. But Lucian suddenly switched arms, changing position so that I'm now facing up.
We hit the floor with a thud and a groan escaped Lucian.
I couldn't imagine him leaving me to land on those glasses. I wouldn't have escaped it. I don't believe this man just saved me.
Shock still kept me motionless and I couldn't even get off him. He didn't send me off or get up as well.
“Alpha!” Ben called suddenly, worriedly.
Lucian finally let me go. I carefully crossed the other pieces of glasses on the floor to where Ben was.
However, Ben crossed it over to help Lucian up. Just as he got up, blood poured out from his wound.
“I brought the physician,” Ben announced.
Almost immediately, Jude stepped forward with a bow.
Ben helped Lucian cross to our side and set him down. It was as if he suddenly went weak. It's just a few scratches, right? Besides, werewolves heal up very fast.
“I will examine the wounds,” Jude announced and moved closer.
I followed suit to check what the glasses had done to him. His clothes were shredded now, and over a dozen glasses were sticking out of him.
The site almost made me barf so I looked away quickly.
“I will remove the glasses first but a lot of wolf bane must have penetrated your body,” Jude revealed.
“Wolf bane? What's that?”
“Its like poison to werewolves. To humans, safe though but you wouldn't have survived the fall if the Alpha hadn't come in,” Jude explained.
“What were you even doing here!” Ben yelled, angrily.
My heart skipped another beat. “But I didn't know this would be here. I mean why would you even put this here? Are you all planning to kill me!” I yelled back.
“If the Alpha wanted you dead, he wouldn't even go through a sick, tricky way,” Ben huffed. He doesn't look like he likes me that much either.
“These wasn't for you. These were traps for the enemies. Wolfbane doesn't do anything to humans but it can kill wolves.”
“It's ok, Ben,” Lucian shushed him, his voice lower but holding much authority. “Get to work, Jude.”
Jude bowed slightly and grabbed a pair of rubber gloves from the box he brought along. Then, proceeded to remove the glasses.
I looked at Lucian and I couldn't believe the mad beating of my heart. Was I going to cause his death?
“Is he going to be alright?”
Jude concentrated on whatever he was doing. “Yes, he will, fortunately, but he would need a lot of rest. You've stressed his wolf too much.”
Lucian laughed. “Were you scared I would die?”
I scoffed. “I don't really care, actually.”
His smile widened. “I won't die, pumpkin, because I still need to teach you a strong lesson.”
I felt a sigh of relief, actually, at the revelation that he was going to be fine. I can't believe he jumped to save me, knowing how much that would cost him.
Jude took a surgical scissor and proceeded to cut through Lucian’s skin.
I looked at Lucian as if I would spot pains on his face, but he's so good at masking them all.
“He's not healing,” Ben panicked.
What! I panicked as well.
“It might take a little moment. Give it time, Ben.”
“Bandage them. I don't want to be dripping blood on my mate's bed,” he smirked at me.
Oh, now he can use the word.
“Alright Alpha.”
It took a while before Ben eventually stepped back. “All done, Alpha.”
Lucian stood up and flexed his arms for a moment but at that moment, my heart was suddenly caught in my mouth.
“Is that OK to do?” I yelled. “You haven't even started healing!”
“Looks like you lied again,” Lucain laughed. “You really do care about me,” he teased.
I looked away and cleared my throat like I wasn't the one who said those words a few minutes ago.
“Ben, get Chloe for me. I will be there soon.”
I turned to him quickly. “What do you mean? Why? Why do you want the innocent girl? She didn't do anything.”
He smirked. “Innocent? Well, I didn't say she did something, did I? But there's something I don't know, right?”
I swallowed harder and looked away.
“Looks like I guessed right. Get Chloe, Ben!” He ordered.
Ben bowed slightly and left with Jude.
I turned to Lucian again. “Please, leave the girl out of this. Chloe knows nothing. This was solely done by me.”
He moved closer and scooped me off the floor before I could blink. “I know. You are quite stubborn but you are just a mere human. You don't have a wolf and can't have known you are my mate unless someone told you.”
My heart made a sudden flip. How is he able to know everything so easily?
My heart reached out to Chloe. Only God knows what he would do with her. Lucian can be scarier whenever he's angry. Even now that he's smiling, I still don't believe his mood.
“Please, pardon her. Forgive her. Its not her fault.”
“Oh sweatherat, that will be up to me. Why dont you just think about yourself, princess. I have a punishment for you, a hard one at that. I will advise you to look forward to yours first.”
“What are you going to do to me? And put me doen! I can walk!”
He laughed but didn't listen to me. Instead, he walked towards the packhouse.
Wgat is he going to do to me? Kiss me? No, he said he wouldn't unless I asked him to.
“Kill me?”
He laughed as he eventually stepped inside the pack house with me still in his arms.
As he stepped inside, several maids stopped to bow. I watched them for a moment. I can't believe everyone here knows I'm their Alpha's mate except me.
“Focus on me, Aria,” Lucian said suddenly, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I looked up at him and realised he was looking at me too. Our gaze held and locked. Chills ran down my spine at the contact.
He looks so handsome when I look at him up so close like this.
He walked inside my room and carefully dropped me on the bed. Then, he pulled something from under the bed.
“You crossed a boundary you shouldn't have, Aria and now, you will bear the consequences. I was going to wait for your consent but not anymore.”
Wait! What! What does he mean by consent? What's he planning to do to me
