Chapter 132 Chapter 132

Lana's POV

"Ma'am."

"Hey baby," I simply ignored him, the one at the door. Jordan. Stepping into dark themed office space, my gorgeous man at the center, backing me but I didn't miss the pissed off look on the features.

Still, I strutted in. Setting down the lunch I personally held onto. "No smoke." I commented, grinning lightly as I looked around. The second time I was coming in here since I came back.

Everything was just as I'd designed. Still the way we spoke it was going to be, and of course he must've made changes but the core designs stayed.

My designs. Get that?

I giggled quietly. The lack of ash tray too adding to it.

"You really stop smoking for me," I said, approaching him. Hugging and holding onto that body from behind. "Aww, thank you, baby. I know it must've been so hard. I appreciate you, thank you."

"Hmm." He simply reacted, turning around to face me. Pulling away as he went to his seat. "Why are you here? Thought you wanted to go shopping with your aunt."

"Shopping? Oh right, I had that planned!" I let out, surprised at myself for forgetting. "Guess I forgot while making you lunch. Making everyone lunch."

"What?" He looked at me surprised. "You cooked? And for everyone?"

"Of course!" I smiled, walking over. Pulling out the dishes in front of him. "It's my first time here officially, and I'm sure your staff heard about me the other night. I thought to do something nice. For everyone."

"Including Jordan." I added for emphasis. Remembering just now how I was stopped at the gates simply for having no proof that I could get into the building and him not telling them to let me in after hearing it was me at the gates.

I had to stand several minutes before gaining entry, so yes I won't accept his greetings.

But for my man...I could spare him a meal.

"You didn't have to do this." He muttered, checking the meals. Shoulders relaxing, features softening slightly from the tensed state they'd been. Bringing me back again to what could be the problem, but still I smiled.

Smiled as he sat to eat, my heart warm. Only he could make me feel this way. Only him.

"Delicious?" I probed, hopeful. Even though I knew it was cause I already ate a plate back at the house and had everything repackaged into my own plates to bring to him.

"Hmm." He nodded, approved. "Thank you." I smiled even more, moving to sit with him but next thing he stood back up.

"What? Aren't you eating?"

"No, I got a meeting." He said, grabbing his phones. "I'll eat later. Jo!" The door opened up immediately, the big buff of a man coming in like he knew he'll be called upon.

"Send someone to take care of her." My man informed him, gesturing to me. "We'll be leaving now."

"Leaving?"

"Leaving."

Hmm.

Why was he was acting surprised? Didn't he know about the meeting?

"Don't worry about me," I called, kissed him on the cheek. "I'll be fine. Still meals to share around too."

He nodded, and with that, the door of the office closed with me in it. My eyes instantly going to his desk, checking around if I could see a hint of what was bothering him.

Was it an investor? A building?

He didn't need an investor or a new building. From the texts I saw on his phone last night, he was making pretty good money around here.

"So what is it then?" I mumbled, sighing. "I'll find out. Don't you worry."

With that I got on my own business. I already said I brought food for everyone in the building, now I had to ensure those foods were delivered.

It wasn't hard. Just make an order and done. Money wasn't my problem at the very least.

But something did become a problem. A person. A name. I kept hearing it on almost every lips whenever I asked what was the latest around Oxygen.

"Oh, nothing much. Just Seraph Wing, ask the Consultant."

"Seraph Wing opened recently, a week ago. The Consultant really did well."

"I'm surprised the place has so many good reviews because... don't blame me if I thought that Consultant was an air head."

"The place is really cool, have you seen it Ma'am? You should go there with the boss. If you know what I mean..."

I just chuckled, waving off that last comment but...

Seraph wing? A female only wing??

And a Consultant. A female Consultant, now I didn't hear of that.

"Excuse me," I grabbed a person close by. "Do you know the name of the Consultant for the new wing?"

I only needed her name to get everything I need.

"Oh! Alina." The person said.

I blinked. "What?"

"Alina. That's the Consultant's name."

Eh?

"What kind of name is that??" I spat out before I hold it. The staff looked at me, I smiled. "Thank you." Then I let go.

But seriously, "What kind of nam- does that even know he's talking about?" I looked back at the fellow, watching him stagger on his own feet down the hall. "Pfft! A drunk ass bitch man. Probably don't even know he's own name."

I continued forward, searching for another person now.

I saw one.

"Do you know who the Consultant at Seraph Floor is?" I asked, looking at the female.

"Who's asking?" She retorted, attitude all over her. Eyes rolling. I scoffed.

"You shouldn't be rude to just anybody." I told her, "You don't know who your next saviour might be."

"Well, my saviour won't be saviour if she's going around asking for that bitch Consultant."

Huh.

"So you don't like her then." I commented, already loving the female. My type of person. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

"She's too self righteous for my liking."

"Oh, so, she judges you? The work you do."

She gave me a look, annoyed, I just rolled my eyes.

"You're obviously an escort, it's written all over you. Tell me something I don't know." I said, giving her back that look.

"Who's asking?" She questioned again, I sighed.

"Lana. Your boss's fiancée. Heard of me?"

She looked, stared at me. Head to toe and then softened her body language. "What do you want to know? Why you asking for Alina?"

"Alina." I repeated, wanting to make sure I didn't hear wrong.

"That's her name." The female said, "Alina Monroe. Alina."

I paused.

Quiet.

Just taking a moment for that actually.

"You're sure about what you're saying." I asked, "You're not making mistakes or something?"

"Are you kidding me? That girl got me suspended few weeks after landing here, you think I'll forget that?"

Suspended??

Now that was interesting.

An Alina Monroe and getting people suspended. Most of all an Alina Monroe.

Alina.

Or was it a mistake? Could be a coincidence right? People bear similar names. I for one met a Lana last week.

Lana Cottrell.

Incredibly sexy and divine goddess (as she should be. It's us.) and because of her I finally closed the last deal that kept me away from my man since so long.

So this could be a coincidence just like that.

It probably is.

"What do you want with her?" The female in front of me asked, still standing apparently. You'd think she'd use her brains to see I'd gotten what I wanted from her and she should be on her way. But no.

People loved making me the bad guy.

"See ya." I simply said, leaving her since she didn't leave. Strutting away in heels.

"Hey! What are you- it's rude to walk out on people you know!"

"Whatever slut." I chuckled, going back down to the main floor. I was done giving out stupid meals, it was time to leave.

But somehow not yet.

"Ma'am." Someone called, appearing beside me. Blonde hair pinned in a ponytail, white fitted dress. Short and exquisite. Pretty face.

"Vega." I smiled, recognizing her at once. "You look striking as always!"

"As do you." She returned, chuckling. "I didn't know you were coming here today again else I would've come see you earlier. I only just heard you're here and rush down. Good thing I caught you."

"Awwwwn, how have you been? Work." I asked her, taking in her every feature. Although pretty, but not exactly my man's type.

Good thing he wasn't into blondes. Except me that is.

Haha.

But Vega was alright, known her for years now. Was here when she was screened and chosen to work here. So she was pretty loyal.

"Oh right!" I said, choosing to ask her too. "I heard talks about there been a new wing, consultant and stuff. What about that?"

"Oh Seraph!" She smiled, her face lighting up even more. "It was a huge success! The absolute best stats we've had for any wing that's been established. Alina really did a good work, you should meet her. Hell, you go there." She winked, tone suggestive.

"I'm pretty sure you'll find some 'interesting' things to do over there with the boss."

"Oh?" I chuckled, laughed it off. "So Alina huh? That's the name of the consultant. Alina Monroe."

"Yes." She confirmed, "Sweet girl. I hope she stays longer with us."

Wow.

Vega complementing a staff. One under her too, cause that's a consultant right?

Vega was general floor manager, any consultant shit person had to be under her jurisdiction.

She was had these positive reviews to say about her? Other staff I spoke to also having positive reviews?? Minus that escort female, every other person seemed to commend this Alina.

It wasn't what I was thinking, was it?
