Chapter 133 Chapter 133

Chapter 133 Chapter 133

LANA'S POV

"No way, that's ridiculous." I laughed, forgetting Vega was still in front of me talking.

"Huh?" She said, looking at me. "I didn't get that."

"Oh don't mind me." I brushed off, "I was just... imagining what inside the wing looks like."

"Ohhhh. You should check it out!"

"I should." I agreed, nodding intentionally. "I really should go check that out."

She went off saying what floor it was, smiled and then walked off talking to someone else. Her tone commanding and questioning. Reminding me again just how she was when handling staff around here. So her complimenting someone...

Or had she changed somehow?

"Now that sounds even more ridiculous." I looked away then, grabbed my purse from the front counter of the entire building. Feeling slightly displaced and inappropriate. Different kinds of thoughts on my mind but of course HIM. Him first because...

I didn't want to think of it but I couldn't help but remember Jordan's quiet surprise when he spoke of having a meeting earlier. It almost seemed as if...as if he was-

"Suspicious." I uttered the word. Finally finding placement for it, but then why would Jordan be suspicious of my man having a meeting?

He followed him everywhere. Was his safety guard, second hand, buddy call and literally everything. He knew all his schedules so why?

Why?

I turned slightly back at the building main hallway entrance. One I'd just stepped out from. "It's not... it's not her, is It?" I muttered to myself, staring. Contemplating. "It's really not... right?"

Right??

"I can't ignore all this." I said to myself, "I'll be stupid to not at least check. Only when you know your problem can you solve it."

Dad's favourite line.

So with that, I stepped forward. Going back inside, making up my mind.

"Let's go see who you are, Alina."

The directions given by Vega came handy.

First I went up to the floor, that Seraph. Pretty interesting outlook and overall interiors. But I didn't enjoy it. It wasn't the exact thing I came for.

Rather I met a few staff hanging around, an engineer, who proved unwilling to tell me where his manager was even after knowing just who I was.

At the end some other female gave it up. Happily too. And I turned on my heels, heading right down to the supposed floor. An office.

The word 'Consultant' boldy engraved on the glass door. But upon pushing it to open, it didn't budge. No one answered from the inside too, meaning no one was in.

She wasn't in.

"Some consultant you are." I scoffed, "You don't sit at a place, do you?" My eyes narrowed around, counting down seconds, minutes, then 5 minutes. Just when I thought I'd had enough, the elevator on the floor dinged open, catching my attention. I turned around and there she was.

Black cooperate heels stepping out from golden elevator, straight legs at first then bending and curving upwards until it reached the hips, the waist, then full chest before leading up to the face. My eyes greedily taking in every detail, quiet as I watched her. Really watched that face concentrated on whatever was on her phone screen. Her steps slow and intentional. Bold, but most importantly...familiar.

That face... I knew that face. I'd recognise it anywhere.

"Alina." My lips tested, "Alina Monroe."

Alina.

It was her.

Her.

My arms uncrossed slowly then, leaving my chest. Steps faltering for a bit, disbelief and sheer recognition hitting me square in the chest, my pulse quickening. Skipping even.

"Alina." I said more steadily, looking at her approach. "Alina Monroe."

It wasn't a coincidence at all. It wasn't someone else bearing her name and-

gods!

What the hell was she doing here?? How in the world- she worked here?? Here?!

"Has he seen her?" I whispered, remembering Roman. My man. "He's seen her? He employed her?"

My mind quickly went back to the many thoughts I've had about him being bothered by something. It was all work, right?

It was work and not-

No!

No.

That was impossible. They were finished. It's been years already. That chapters closed and he was my man now. My fiancée, and she, she looked surprisingly different.

Different from head to toe, I wouldn't know it was her had she not leaned forward so her hair fell over her face just now. Providing a curtain. Just like back then.

Somehow a vague image came to mind. Short, fat, image of a 16 year old with the most frizzy hair. And now the current image of a young woman slowly walking towards me, her packaged lunch in hand.

Where there was fat, chubby arms and legs, were now replaced by toned muscles. Well structured muscles in such a way she looked vumpious and curvy without even trying. An evidently small waist, full breasted chest and an even leaner face. Structured cheekbones.

Pretty.

Really pretty. Attractively sexy if you gave her another look in that full on black outfit she had on.

I felt myself unsteady just merely watching her. My lean built usually envied by many suddenly seeming abnormal.

So annoying.

So terribly annoying and worse because of her! Her of all people.

What the hell was she doing appearing here?? What the hell was she doing instead of staying dead and forgotten in some ditch with her loser family!

The more I looked at her, the more she annoyed me. Which was not allowed at all.

I was Lana. I am Lana Beaumont. Perfect from head to toe, men fall over themselves for me, women wanted to get close however possible. How I could feel some type of way because of her...

Impossible.

Instead of that, I'll show her who's the boss around here.

"Alina." I let out immediately, smiles on my lips. Shoulders rolled and squared perfect. Head straight looking at her. Watching her truly answer to the name. Her face turned fully to mine. Familiar.

Different but familiar.

"It really is you." I said, smiled instead of letting that stupid slow panic get to me. "Alina Monroe... Alina."

She stood frozen.

Paused totally in her tracks, lips parting in surprise but then quickly collecting back to form a still look. Eyes looking right at me. Bold.

A word I never thought I'd associate with her.

"Hi!" I grinned, pushing forward. "Hi Alina!" She stepped backwards, not letting me touch her. Features still as ever. Head held high and again, bold.

This time I got to see her facial features more closely.

"Pretty." I voiced, "You look pretty. Wow."

She wasn't exactly ugly back then but...she actually did look good right now. Facially and body wise.

"Did you get surgery or something?" I couldn't hold back. Chuckling as I circled her, checking her from all angles. "You look so different! No more fat, definitely surgery!" Her eyes met mine, narrowing. Glaring but trying hard not to.

A familiar kind of excitement filling my veins again, my lips stretching to a grin. "Lovely," I commented, touching her hair. "You look a doll, darling." She swat my hands off, no words still.

"Can you give me your doctor's number?" I asked, voice low. Taunt. "Will you give it to me? I have some questions for him because...what he do with all that fat? All the fat he cut off...what he do with it?" She glared, jaw tight and I pushed on. Pushed on some more because this is what I do. What I've always done.

Pick people.

I pick them apart. Search deep into their souls, tear them off limp from limp until I got what I wanted. Saw that laid underneath.

It was a special talent. One this darling girl here helped me find and now I've turned into my current job, so I was good at it.

"Did he Stuff some in your bum?" I reached for it. Her ass behind. Landing my palm on it, holding her eyes.

"Stop."

"He added some in here, didn't he? You made him put some of that excess fat into this place and crafted this bum for you, didn't you?!"

"Get off!" She snapped, pushed him right off. My form staggering several paces
backwards, disbelief on my face.

Didn't think she'd do that.

Didn't think she had in her.

"You've grown some wings, haven't you?"

She straightened, face calm. Hair flung back smoothly, like nothing just happened.

Instead she stepped forward. "
