Chapter 20 You Don't Even Qualify for the Competition
Ava stood tall, her voice resolute, "This is just the preliminary round. Whether you can advance or not is still uncertain, so don't be too arrogant."
"But Miss Smith, you don't even have the qualification to enter the competition," Tasha said provocatively, lifting her eyelids to look at her.
"Don't worry about me. It's just a preliminary round. I believe I can enter it as long as I want to," Ava replied.
Ava didn't want to waste her breath with her. She needed to figure out how to enter the preliminary round. Otherwise, all her preparations over the past few days would be in vain.
But Tasha seemed determined to stick to her.
"Still relying on that old man of yours? It's no surprise. A woman like you, abandoned by Tyrone, has no choice but to find another old man," Tasha taunted.
"You keep talking about old men. I think you must be too jealous. Since that's the case, I can find one for you," Ava retorted.
"You..." Tasha raised her hand to strike but caught sight of Tyrone approaching. In an instant, she restrained herself and rushed into Tyrone's arms, her face looking pitiful. "Tyrone, look at what Ava did to me..."
Tyrone looked down and saw the red handprint on Tasha's face, then looked up to see Ava standing nearby.
He knew immediately that Ava was the one who did it.
"Ava, how dare you lay a hand on Tasha!" Tyrone's voice was filled with anger.
Ava looked at the two of them with a wry smile, hatred flashing in her eyes.
"Hitting her didn’t do her justice. One of you is despicable, the other shameless. A slut and a pervert, a perfect match made in heaven." She coldly dropped these words and turned to leave, but her wrist was suddenly grabbed by Tyrone, making her feel disgusted.
When her gaze inadvertently fell on Tasha's face, Ava suddenly didn't want to leave. Since Tasha had messed up her registration for the preliminary round, Ava wanted to annoy her as much as she could.
She endured the disgust in her heart and reached out to pull Tyrone back. "Tyrone, didn't you say you wanted to get back together with me? I agree now. You said you loved me last time, was it all because Tasha forced you to be with her?"
Tyrone hastily let go, his face pale as he looked at Tasha. "Tasha, don't listen to her nonsense." Tyrone turned his head, his narrow and fierce eyes glaring at Ava. "You bitch, not only did you ruin my company, but now you want to sow discord between us. It seems I need to teach you a lesson.”
Ava said, "Tyrone, it was she who provoked me. Your good woman caused me to lose my qualification to participate in the competition. Serves her right."
"Tyrone, didn't you say that she found a sugar daddy and still opposes us? I just spoke the truth, and she hit me," Tasha said, her eyes red like a bullied bunny.
Tyrone's eyes filled with distress. He leaned close to Ava, pointing at her with the hand missing a finger. "Apologize to Tasha."
"Apologize? I am nice enough to not tell you both to go die," Ava said with a sneer.
Tyrone approached Ava. At that moment, he believed that he would be able to subdue Ava. He said, “Ava, apologize to Tasha right now. Then I might give you a chance to join the preliminary competition for the sake of our old days.”
“You? Give me a chance?” Ava seemed to hear a big joke. “Tyrone, who do you think you are? This is the Prosperity Group, not your home.”
Tyrone put both of his hands in his pocket while raising his chin confidently. “The person in charge of this competition, Director Wade Garrett, is a friend of mine. Do you think I have the right to do so now?”
Ava thought, ‘I see! No wonder he is so sure that he can give Tasha the championship. However, with the reputation of the Prosperity Group, I don’t think they could get the championship so easily.’
Tyrone thought that Ava was frightened. He sneered and said, “That’s right, you have already lost the chance to enter the competition. After I get the investment, I will show you what I got.’
His words were like a knife that cut deep into Ava’s heart. She turned sideways and shot a glare at him. “I don’t believe anyone will invest in your company.”
Tyrone said, “You don’t have to worry about that. Apologize to Tasha right now!”
Ava suddenly started swinging her bag. Tasha and Tyrone retreated instinctively. However, Ava took the opportunity to run away.
When she turned a corner, there was a big crowd. Tyrone couldn’t do anything to Ava in public, so he could only stop chasing her.
