Chapter 110
Not wanting Scarlett to leave, Mason got out of bed and pulled her back, coaxing gently, "Okay, I'll listen to you and help you get revenge, but you have to promise me that when the time comes, you'll definitely call off the wedding and be with me."
If there was no other choice.
If Ella had to die for Scarlett to stay by his side, then Mason would take that gamble.
He hoped that after fulfilling all her wishes, she would truly stay by his side regardless of any obstacles.
"As long as you can do what I asked, I'll definitely do what I promised you."
Seeing Mason agree, Scarlett turned to face him, took the initiative to wrap her arms around his neck, stood on her tiptoes and kissed him.
Once Mason killed Ella, Joshua would never let him off.
When he got sent to prison, she could marry Joshua without any worries, couldn't she?
Maybe the Rhea couple would even beg her humbly to plead with Joshua on Mason's behalf to save him.
If that day really came, she wouldn't need to care about the Rhea couple's attitude anymore.
As Mason carried Scarlett back to bed, a cunning, mocking look flashed across her eyes and lips.
After Ella got Joshua's hair, she went back to Dorian's side, took his hair, and sent them to the testing agency for identification.
On the way home, she accidentally hit someone while driving.
Ella's heart tightened, and she immediately stopped the car to check the situation.
Seeing the pedestrian knocked to the ground, she quickly helped her up and asked, "Are you okay?"
The person was somewhat injured and couldn't stand up for a while, but she didn't blame Ella and waved her hand saying, "I'm fine, I'm sorry, I was in a hurry and ran a red light. You can go, I'm okay."
Ella helped her up, and when she lifted her head after hearing her speak, she realized it was actually Rhea, Mason's mother.
But the other person didn't notice her and pulled away from her support, limping across the street.
Ella watched Rhea's back, feeling a bit dazed.
Her eyes somehow felt hot and wet, and her heart began to ache.
Worried about the other person, Ella hurried after her, "Let me take you to the hospital."
Only then did Rhea see her face clearly, somewhat surprised, "Ella?"
Although not familiar with Ella, she had a deep impression of her.
From the first time she saw her, Rhea had a strange sense of familiarity.
She thought maybe it was because she was the same age as her lost daughter?
But thinking that she was once Joshua's wife, and now Scarlett was with Joshua.
She had to keep some distance, otherwise it would be awkward.
"I'm fine, you go about your business."
Rhea waved her hand, still wanting to leave on her own.
Ella pulled her back, "You're injured. Let me take you to the hospital. I'll only feel at ease leaving after making sure you're okay."
She pushed Rhea into the car.
Rhea was somewhat helpless and had to get in.
Sitting in the passenger seat, she looked at Ella driving. She had heard this person gave birth to someone else's child and married Joshua while hiding it from everyone.
Now divorced and left with nothing.
Thinking she must be having a hard time raising a child alone, Rhea said, "Just drop me at the hospital, I'll check myself. You don't need to worry about me."
Ella ignored this and asked something unrelated, "I heard you lost a daughter before, the same age as me?"
Knowing some things were impossible, she couldn't help but seek confirmation.
Every time Rhea thought about her lost daughter, she felt terribly sad.
She looked out the window, unwilling to talk about it.
Her precious daughter, if she were with them now, would be twenty-four years old.
She didn't know if she was still alive in this world, or how she was doing.
Thinking that Ella was the same age and living such a difficult life.
Was her daughter...
Rhea didn't want to think further, it would make her heart ache.
She turned to look at Ella, "What are your plans now? I heard the child's father came looking?"
Ella didn't know how her situation had reached Rhea's ears.
She smiled optimistically, "Just go with the flow!"
Rhea felt inexplicably sorry for her, but thinking that the person marrying Joshua was Scarlett.
She had to take back her sympathy for Ella.
After arriving at the hospital, Rhea still insisted on seeing the doctor alone.
Ella wouldn't agree and insisted on supporting her.
Midway through, when the other person wasn't paying attention, she pulled out some of her hair.
While Rhea was being treated by the doctor, Ella took the initiative to contact Mason.
Mason rushed over, and before seeing Rhea, he saw Ella at the consultation room door and stepped forward wanting to hit her, "Ella, hurting Scarlett wasn't enough for you, now you're harming my mom. How can you be so vicious?"
He had originally been merciful and let Ella go.
Now it seemed that not getting rid of her would leave endless trouble.
A woman like her shouldn't be allowed to exist in this world.
"I'm sorry."
Ella admitted it was her fault and bowed her head in apology.
Mason really wanted to slap her to vent Scarlett's anger.
But just as he raised his hand, the doctor in the consultation room called out, "Family member, come take her to the ward."
Mason had no choice but to lower his hand, glared fiercely at Ella, and strode into the consultation room.
Ella didn't dare go in and just waited at the door.
Rhea's leg was fractured. Although not particularly serious, because of her age, she needed proper care, otherwise there would be aftereffects.
She was arranged to stay in the hospital for observation.
Sitting in a wheelchair being pushed out of the consultation room by Mason, seeing Ella still there, she said to her, "You can go, I'm fine."
Ella nodded.
Seeing Mason still looked like he wanted to tear her apart, she didn't follow them, but instead took the hair in her hand and went straight to the testing center.
After submitting the samples, she returned to Zachary's apartment to be with Dorian.
She didn't contact Joshua, and Joshua didn't come looking for her either.
Instead, Mason took the initiative to contact her a day later, "Ella, you hit my mom with your car and put her in the hospital. Shouldn't you come to the hospital to take care of her?"
Ella agreed.
She personally made soup and brought it to Rhea at the hospital.
When she arrived, both Mason and Scarlett were in the room.
Ella ignored them, carried the soup forward and politely nodded to Rhea, "I'm really sorry I'm only coming to see you now. This is homemade soup. Would you like to try some?"
Rhea was quite kind by nature.
She didn't blame Ella in the first place and didn't expect her to come.
She replied kindly, "I'm not seriously hurt, yet you went to the trouble of making food for me. Thank you."
Ella still felt apologetic and personally ladled soup to give to Rhea.
But she was stopped by Scarlett beside her, "Mom, you can't drink it. What if there's something wrong with the soup?"
Scarlett took the bowl from Ella and handed it to Mason, "Take it to be tested."
Mason took it and was about to leave when Rhea suddenly got angry, "What are you two doing? In broad daylight, what could Ella do to me? Give it back to me."
Rhea especially couldn't stand Scarlett's pretentious behavior.
She coldly issued an order, "Scarlett, don't you have wedding things to take care of? Go do that. Ella can keep me company."
