Chapter 76 Favoured Bride
Chapter 76 Favoured Bride
HAYDEN'S POV
People love drama. One would have thought that since they were here only a few days ago to celebrate my mate's phasing, only a few would take the journey again to attend our wedding.
I am surprised to see people that have never made it here before for a ceremony walking into the big hall. I wonder if they would have made the effort to come if they are not interested in seeing who I will choose.
My Father must be exhilarated to see the multitude that has gathered to witness this marriage.
This isn't how I would have wanted my marriage with Bella to be like. I am not against a big celebration, what I don't want is to have two brides when I am going to marry only one.
It may be the thing that made many to come, but I would have preferred a smaller ceremony without drama.
The good thing is in the end of the event, Bella will officially be my wife. We will be together for a millennia. We will live to see many of our great grandchildren and their children as well.
Today she looks extraordinarily beautiful in the white wedding dress we picked from the clothing store.
Usher isn't happy about it of course. She has already tried to convince my mother that the dress is too revealing since the upper back is only made of lace.
"The dress is more than fine. I can send someone to get you a similar one if you want. There is still time for you to change." Mother answers her.
"I have no intention to show off my body." Usher says snidely.
She is in red cocktail dress with a million shinny beads decorating it.
She has got three maids working on styling her hair. They are making a lot of effort to satisfy her, but she keeps on asking them to repeat the work.
"You have been showing off your body every day until you began pretending you have changed!" Mother fires at Usher. She looks shocked.
"None of you ever appreciate anything good from me this days." She says in a sad voice that I know she is faking. "You hate me so much yet I am not the one who came here to steal!"
I will be happy to throw her out the moment the wedding is over. I would be mad to keep someone so evil and bitter near my family for a single more day when I have the power to do otherwise.
My Father's Beta peeks his head into the room. "Hayden, your presence is needed in the hall." He announces.
I take Bella in my arms and kiss her forehead. "There is a whole millennia ahead of us, you'll be with me until the end, right?" I whisper.
"Are we already saying our vows?" She asks teasingly. She is almost as tall as me in heels. Her fingers touch my neck gently. "I will be with you every time we are born. I will find you no matter what continent you are." She whispers.
I have never felt more valued, more assured, more loved.
I notice Usher looking very keen as she listens to our conversation. Even though we are whispering, there is barely a sound too low for an angel to hear.
"Go before your father starts getting agitated." Bella urges.
I kiss her one last time before turning to head for the door. "Aren't you already too unfair for someone about to become King?" Usher speaks aloud. "Aren't going to treat us equally since we are both your brides?" She adds when I turn around to face her.
"Once this ceremony is over, you should pack and leave my kingdom. Otherwise I will make sure everyone is watching as my men lock you in a cell downstairs!" I snarl.
She is appalled. Her lips shake as she stammers the words, "I. . .am so. . . sorry!"
I ignore her and walk out of the room. "That's exactly what she deserves!" My Father's Beta comments, walking behind me.
The hall is so full that there isn't a space left unoccupied. The only seats left are the three seats on the stage. Mine, my mother's and . . .for the bride I will choose.
I am guessing Usher will have to leave the hall after everything, my father can be very cruel sometimes.
He wears a happy smile as he sits watching the massive crowd. Everyone stands and bows slightly as I make my way to the stage. Everyone except Skylar who doesn't know if he is supposed to it.
He is once again running from one guest to another, talking and playing with strangers.
I make it to the stage and he runs towards me. I pick him up and carry him to my seat. My Father sits beside me, Angel Grayson and our Prophetess behind me. I greet them before taking my seat and placing Skylar on my lap.
"Where is Bella?" He asks.
"She will be coming very soon."
USHER'S POV
My plan is once again crumbling. Hayden had agreed to let me stay a full week after the wedding, but he wanted me not to be present when he marries my sister.
The King would have already sent me packing if he even suspected
that I wouldn't be part of the wedding.
What I didn't expect is Hayden to act as cruel as his father. He promised to have me locked up if I don't leave his palace immediately after the wedding.
Being an angel, I wouldn't miss somewhere to go. There are kingdoms without a single angel that would appreciate my presence.
But who wants to go live in a small kingdom, alone and powerless?
My mate is already gone. Not just gone, he is waiting for someone else.
I thought he had come back to beg me to accept him when I saw him this morning. He was with that prophetess and looked happy when they spoke.
I waited until they were done before approaching him. I wanted to caution him against interrupting the event because that would sabotage my plans.
He smiled politely as he informed me that the Prophetess has just told him that he would get another mate but she is yet to phase.
Tears welled in my eyes. I didn't think it would hurt so much to lose him.
He gave me a hug before walking into the hall. I watched him until he disappeared inside.
It took me almost an hour to overcome the pain and go back to focusing on what would benefit me.
I didn't know what my sister would be wearing until I walked into the room that Hayden's mother had asked me to meet her.
She had gathered a variety of decorations; necklaces, earrings, hairpins and bracelets. There were maids to help us select the best and wear them.
There is however no jewelry that could make me look as stunning as my sister in that dress that has only lace on the back.
Hayden hugged and kissed her. They whispered sweet words as I watched. Both acted as if I wasn't in the room.
Hayden snapped at me when I voiced my displeasure.
He said he wants me to leave his kingdom. He thinks he and his mate can get away with all that they have done to me by throwing me out of the Kingdom?
Never. I will make them pay for it all. I may no longer have a perfect plan, that doesn't mean I will allow my sister to take all that used to be mine so easily.
