Chapter 75 A Desert For The Angel

Chapter 75 A Desert For The Angel
BELLA'S POV

This is going to be embarrassing.

Mother woke up with the worst idea ever and she is now forcing me to be part of it.

She decided to make breakfast for her soon to be son-in-law. Keep in mind that mother is not a good chef and cannot make the kind of delicious foods Hayden grew up eating.

She wants to make him feel part of our family since the wedding is tomorrow. She however chose the wrong way of doing it.

She got the passion to cook, but she has always made the simplest of recipes because one could only work with the ingredients that we could afford.

We only had delicious food on special days. And not as delicious as what they make here.

Mother also has issues with accepting that others don't like the same foods she likes. She is obsessed with making what she believes are nutritive dishes which often end up not tasting good at all.

"He won't eat these." I try to point out even though I know she will insist that I take the plate of food to him.

Even my father hates it when she makes her favorite meal which comprises of mashed potatoes mixed with beans and served with vegetable salad.

"Who are you to decide what he will like? I am trying to appreciate all that he has done for us and cooking for someone is always the best way of showing them how much you value them." She lectures.

"You could have asked one of the chefs to make a good meal for you, Hayden wouldn't know." I argue.

"I don't think he enjoys the unhealthy foods they make for him. The cakes will only make him fat and unattractive." She says. "Take the food to him and you will see how much he will like it." She pushes the plate towards me.

I don't think I have an option but to take the food to Hayden's room. He will accept it since he is such a polite person. I will then leave so he can have the opportunity to throw it away.

It would be unfair to insist that he eat the food just because he will soon be part of my family, officially.

He has always had the best meals throughout his life, how can she expect him to like these?

I am not being as prideful as my sister. This is the type of food I grew up eating, sometimes much much worse.

I know no one eats those kind of foods because they love the taste. We ate because we were hungry and didn't have the pleasure of choosing what to eat.

If this is the only breakfast Hayden is going to have, I am sure he will go hungily until he gets his lunch or finds a snack.

I start to wish I had covered the food as I pass by people while on the way to his room. No one would laugh out loud in front of my eyes, it's the good thing about being a golden winged angel. That doesn't mean they won't do it later.

Hayden and I will be getting married tomorrow. The maids are once again running around, tying to prepare all that will be needed for the big ceremony and do it well enough for the King to be pleased.

Usher will be part if it of course. She rejected her mate, thinks it's best to be part of an event that no needs you.

No one except Hayden's parents want her there. I kind of feel bad for her because the King plans to embarrass her.

She is the most stubborn person I have ever met. I think she would put on the wedding dress even if she knew what exactly is going on.

I finally reach Hayden's bedroom door and knock gently. I hate how close Usher's room is to his. She had managed to fool Hayden's parents enough to be given the room right beside his.

I hear his footsteps approaching before the door swings open. I almost forget about the food in my hands as I gawk at his almost naked, glorious body that is only dressed in a pair of shorts that barely covers his ass.

"To what do I owe this honor?" He smiles seductively, opening the door even wider.

"You always answer your door naked?" I ask, trying hard to sound like I am disapproving his look.

"Don't pretend you don't like what you see when your eyes say otherwise." He says with a smirk.

So he did see me ogling at him. I feel a little embarrassed but not as much as I would have felt if he wasn't my mate.

"What if it was your mother knocking and not me? Would you tell her the same thing?"

"My parents never knock on my door. So you can bet they have seen enough of my nakedness." He answers.

His mother has seen him like this? She must be a really sweet mother if she didn't chastise him.

"You made that for me?" He asks, checking the food with curiosity.

"My mother prepared it all with a lot of love. It's her favourite dish but it won't be delicious for you." I say frankly. "You don't have to eat it since she is not here."

"Maybe I will like it."

He takes the food from my hands and walks back into the room. He leaves the door open.

My curiosity urges me to go ahead and follow him inside.

The room is as exquisitely furnished as I had imagined. His king-size bed is in a mess.

He places the plate on the small table beside his bed. "I am assuming you're the dessert since I can't see any." He says with a smirk.

I start to laugh at his remark but stop when he suddenly turns and scoops me off my feet. He carries me to the bed and lets me fall on the big, feather matress.

He quickly climbs on the bed and pulls me to him. "What are you doing?" I question. He promised that we won't be doing this until we are married.

"I am having my dessert." He answers playfully and starts kissing me.

"You haven't even eaten your salad!" I scream.

"I can't have my dessert first?"

"We can only kiss." I say.

"And cuddle." He adds, pulls me even closer to him.

I am tempted to say yes. "No. We can do that after our wedding."

"Cuddling isn't the same as having sex." He points.

"Alright, we have about twenty minutes before my mum comes looking for me."

USHER'S POV

Listening to my sister and Hayden kiss and cuddle sucks. I can already imagine her writhing in his arms as he kisses and nuzzles her body against his.

I rejected my mate. He wasn't as foolish as I had thought. He figured out I didn't love him and accepted my rejection.

I wish he stayed to help me get what I wanted in this Kingdom. But he quickly got convinced that I am an evil angel like everyone claims.

I am on my own now. I could have counted Anna as a friend but she is too dumb.

She did however suggest that we wait until the sword is handed over to Hayden before stealing it.

It was a good idea. But I will have to be part of their awful wedding because the King won't allow me to stay in his house without being part of it.
