Chapter 26 Awkward Feelings After Love Confessions

Chapter 26 Awkward Feelings After Love Confessions
We've been in the village for a month now, a month we've been hiding as people who were thought to be dead. We are starting to get used to the work in the village, and we are starting to get used to socializing with the villagers. And the same thing that changed was Collin.
Collin kept his distance from me more, only speaking when it was absolutely necessary. And a drastic change happened to his body; his body is now larger with muscles, thanks to his daily routine of training every night at midnight. Whatever his motivation was, the growth even amazed Anthony.
I'm still practicing every day with Anthony, and he says my abilities are already very good. I can already aim correctly using arrows, and I can use sharp weapons.
Like this time, I was facing Anthony directly. Anthony fought while teaching me, and in the final step, Anthony made a mistake, so I managed to knock him down. Anthony fell to the ground, with me on top of him, while the tip of the knife was already in front of his eyes.
Anthony fell silent, neither responding nor holding back the knife that was right above his face. His breath was racing; I could feel it because one of my hands was on his chest.
"I'm going field first." Collin stood up, making us scramble awkwardly to adjust our positions.
"You've only been practicing for ten minutes, Collin," Anthony said, patting his body, which was slightly dirty from the ground.
"I want to practice at midnight if you don't mind. If not, give me some moves so I can practice on my own." Collin used coercive negotiation, forcing Anthony to agree to his words.
Collin then left, leaving the two of us to return to the fields. Meanwhile, Anthony and I decided to take a short break.
"What's really going on with you two guys? You have to tell me, honestly, this has been going on for too long, and I think this kind of relationship is very uncomfortable." Anthony forced me to speak.
"Collin likes me, but I can't return his feelings. Now I might have hurt him." Anthony was a little surprised; it was all evident from his expression.
"Didn't you really realize Collin's feelings for a long time? What man would go this far and deep into your life if he didn't like you? You should have understood from the beginning. If you wanted to refuse, you shouldn't have involved him from the beginning," Anthony said.
"So you're blaming me?" I asked sadly.
"That's not it. But there wouldn't be a relationship between a man and a woman this close if one of them didn't have feelings of affection. Maybe Collin was disappointed because you didn't realize that a long time ago," Anthony tried to make me see. He's a man; maybe he understands Collin's feelings.
"I never thought about going there; I came because of my problems with my husband. I didn't come as a single person; Collin knew I was married, and so far, I haven't thought about another man or considered starting a relationship with another man." I tried to give a defense.
"That's true, but you need to be careful with yourself. With a look like this, who wouldn't like you? To be honest, I like you too, but who am I? I'm quite self-aware, and I understood from the beginning that Collin liked you. And behind all of that, there's someone who holds a higher place in your heart, namely Andrew. Although he's a temperamental husband, I know you're just trying to run away, not stop loving him."
Anthony understands my feelings perfectly, and he also understands Collin's feelings perfectly. He said he liked me, but I admire him because he didn't think about getting anything in return.
"Thank you for liking me. It's an honor for me to be liked by great men like you two. But you understand me so well and can guess my feelings, Anthony. Right, I was just trying to run, and I'm still learning to stop loving Andrew. It would be a lie to say I wasn't jealous seeing Andrew's closeness with Lucy or the matchmaking done by netizens for Andrew and Sarah Olsen. But I need to love myself more," I said at length.
"I believe you didn't intend to take advantage of Collin, nor did you intend to hurt his feelings. Everything needs to be discussed again between the two of us. Go see Collin right now."
Anthony gave me advice; he seemed to be an expert in love, but when I left, I could see Anthony's wistful smile directed at me.
I went back to the fields; the aunts and uncles had already stopped working and were ready for lunch. What about Collin? He's at the far right end, all alone, holding his phone.
As I approached his back, I saw he was on a video call with Kate. Someone who is eagerly awaiting Collin's feelings. Collin hasn't contacted Kate in a long time; Kate probably doesn't know that we're actually still alive. And somehow, they're connected again now.
Is it possible that Collin has been silent all this time because he was considering Kate's feelings? And perhaps now Collin realizes that no one can be as sincere to him as Kate.
I stepped back, Anthony was behind me, and he chose to pull me toward the group of aunts and uncles who were ready for lunch.
Collin and Kate's phone conversation lasted quite a while, but from a distance, I saw Collin finally smile again after calling Kate. Perhaps he had realized many things and would try to repair their relationship as it was before they met me.
"Eat a lot." Anthony put a piece of chicken on my plate, interrupting my thoughts about Collin and Kate's relationship.
"We'll talk to that man later." Anthony once again seemed to understand why I had been staring at Collin, who was still busy making video calls and hadn't come to eat with us.
"Didn't Collin already change his cell phone number?" I whispered to Anthony. Anthony nodded as well.
"Maybe he needed something, so he had to call the woman. Who is that woman anyway?"
"She was one of the doctors at the mental hospital where I was staying at the time," I revealed, and Anthony just nodded.
Until we went home and night fell, I was always looking for a chance to talk to Collin. However, Collin seemed too busy today. He also borrowed Anthony's motorcycle for the first time and was wearing completely covered clothing.
Collin hadn't been home for a long time, and Anthony and I waited for his return until late at night. And right at midnight, Collin finally returned to the village with Anthony's motorcycle.
Collin approached me, giving me the medications he often gave me when I was in the hospital before.
"I contacted Kate to get the medication from the hospital. There's no pharmacy here, so we met on the street to pick it up," Collin said.
I was stunned; it turned out Collin had left just to get medicine for me.
