CHAPTER 35

Elena was tossed into a little hut-like room. She groaned when her arm hit the floor, wincing silently in pain. Sending her hot saliva down her throat, she opened her eyes to see Beta Tyrion squatting before her-sending shivers down her spine.

She gasped and shifted backwards, pointing her fingers at him. "Aren't you supposed to be dead? What are you doing here? Who was executed, if not you?" her voice was shaky. She was sure if Tyrion was impersonated, then he must have done all that just to deal with her like he promised.

He grinned, tapping his index fingertip on the floor. "Ridiculous? " he shook his head. "She seems astounded…." she stood up and gripped his jacket. "You fucking think I will have to die because of you? Why should I when I've been on my master's side before he met you…. and then I will be the one to pass on because of you huh?"

She bit her bottom lip. "Stop claiming to be the victim when you are the culprit-" she exhaled deeply. "If you didn't offend your master-if you didn't betray his trust, he wouldn't have you dead. Do you know the pain you caused him? It would have been better if I was the one who did all that….. then he will believe that I was never his person." she gulped harder and continued. "But you stabbed him in the back and expected him to keep shut because you are who?" her voice raised.

He snorted and took two steps closer. "I am his right-hand man and shouldn't be cast away like that. If you didn't come into his life, he wouldn't find out a thing….. and even after finding out, he couldn't even give me a second chance, at least for the sake of the years we stayed together." he squatted again. "Looks like he's tired of being the Don and the Supreme Alpha King. If I'm not fit to take that role, I can install someone who will rule under me…."

Lena clenched her fist, even when she knew she couldn't do a thing.

"He wouldn't hesitate to chop off my head if he finds out that I'm alive. He won't welcome me ever again. So, I have to get rid of him out of my way and live my life….. I will start from you and him…" Tyrion pointed at the door, and that instant, the door was opened and Alfred was pushed into the room to the floor.

She jolted from the floor and hurried towards him. "Alfred! What happened? How did you end up here?"

Alfred looked at her and then at Tyrion. "Are you okay?" he asked Lena and she nodded. He exhaled a deep breath he didn't know he had been holding. "I went after you and was captured by some men in the woods….."

"Why? How dare you take such a risk?" she frowned, her jaw tightened.

Alfred looked at Tyrion and then back at Lena. "Do you know him?"

Lena nodded.

"Then they must be the reason you escaped," he added but she didn't answer that. She was yet to understand what was going on.

First, she escaped from the rogues that she wasn't sure who sent them after her, and then the bounty hunter. Just when she thought she was free, she met the devil she didn't know was still living…. but she was still less blinkered if Tyrion was the one behind all those people she escaped from.

She sighed heavily and curled her legs together. "Now that you found us, what are you going to do with us? Are you going to kill me? Then do it now, but you must let him go for he knows nothing. Once you kill me, you can now go back to your master and make peace with him….."

Tyrion burst into laughter. "Is that what you think? That I want you dead so I can make peace with him?" he laughed again and stepped back a bit. "Do you know the injections I took before I was revived? Are you aware of the hell I went through just to survive and do this?"

"You are destined to be dead with Nathan, so quit blurting." she stamped her fist on the floor. "Listen, if you don't kill me, you will end up dead!!"

He sneered. "The audacity!!" he came closer and leaned his right side on the wall. "You must think that I'm joking here. I mean it when I say that I will take your lives before I meet my master…. and he won't survive as well. I will end you all and rule this world myself."

Lena glared at him, unable to say a word any longer.

"So, tell me, should I also kill your child?" He made her heart sink into her belly. "You don't want him dead?" he shrugged his shoulders. "Then I will train him to see me as his father. He will obey me and will lose his life if he messes up with me."

Lena shook her head. She wouldn't mind her child being her weak point. "You must not hurt my child even after this world. Go ahead and kill me, but you must promise to not touch my child no matter what…"

He chuckled. "Promise? Do I look like Don?" he shook his head. "I mean everything I say, and that's how it will be. Let's be done with you two so that I can face the mighty Alpha…." he released his body from the wall and exited the room.

Lena exhaled deeply, taking a glance at Alfred who couldn't keep his eyes off her.

"So, I guessed right, that you had a husband and a baby. Then why did you leave them? Where are they? Who is this man?" Alfred inquired, slowly taking her palms into his.

She gazed at him, tears welled up in her eyes. "Those questions must be unanswered even after my death. All I want now is for you to live."

"What about your husband? Don't you want him to live too?"

She shook her head. "That's not it! Alpha Don is unbeatable, so I trust him to protect himself and our child. My priority now is you. Alfred, you must live for the sake of your mother…."

He hissed. "Mother? Are you sure she's my mother?" he came closer to her. "You touched me, I passed out and woke up with my wolf awakened. Don't you think something is binding us?"

"But you insisted that we have nothing in common, so I didn't bother again…" she uttered.

He nodded. "I did say so, but I don't think it's true. I grew up with that woman."

"I never set my eyes on you as a brother, and my parents never talked about me having a brother too…" she snapped at him and lowered his head. "Let's not talk about this now, although I strongly believe that we have something in common since we met again. But for now, let's talk about your safety."

"We should find a way to escape-" he brought his head closer to her. "I heard that man say he passed through hell to be revived, which means he's supposed to be dead, and there's definitely something holding him alive now."

Lena narrowed her eyes. "Are you trying to say that he seems to be a robot?"

He shook his head. "He must be on an injection which if he doesn't take for a while, he will die again."

She nodded slowly, understanding what he was trying to say.

"Let's escape from here tonight, and he will come after us. Along the line, he will be weak and will pass on again," he suggested.

Lena thought about it for some time and decided to agree to it. "But, we must survive no matter what. If one of us must die, I should be the one…."

His nose wrinkled. "Why would you be the one to die?"
