CHAPTER 34

"My feet are so damn bruised now…" Lena lifted her leg, seated on the floor, while checking her foot. She had pulled off her footwear when she found it difficult to run faster, but now, she was regretting it. "I will wait until it's healed before I continue…" she mumbled and positioned her bag to use it as a pillow, and then she laid down.

Looking into the sky, she exhaled deeply, reminiscing on Alfred and how she had left without saying goodbye. However, she believed it was better, so they won't want to stop her or come after her. But then, one thing still baffles her-why he passed out when she touched her.

She had never experienced such a thing before, and her wolf was saying nothing about it.

"My baby-" she sniffled. "He must be crying now. I can hear his cries…" she blinked and turned over to lie on her side.

She was already in the streets, but couldn't tell where exactly she was. It looked so calm, and people were barely walking around, or maybe she was still at the tip of the town. She was sure it wasn't a pack because it didn't look like one either-but like a human town.

If she were among humans, then she would have to hide her wolf so she wouldn't be noticed to be a werewolf. She would start a new world of hers if the town was compatible with her and forget about her son and Alpha Dante.

On recalling him, she sat up again, her gaze fixated on a spot. "Did he really want me dead? Is that why he insisted that I leave without his awareness because he would certainly come after my life?" she shook her head. "Alpha Don can't do that to me. If he truly wanted me dead, he wouldn't hesitate to execute me like he did to Nathan and Tyrion."

She licked her lips, lifting her legs and resting her arms on them. "I can't go back there either. I don't even know who exactly sent out those rogues, but I'm certain Alpha sent out the bounty hunter. Does it mean that he wants me back? The last thing I know about hunters is that they don't kill but only search and find…." she rolled her eyes. "Then, he must want me back to the palace, but I'm not sure what he has in mind. Those rogues….."

The sound of a car drew her outta her thoughts. She lifted her head to see a car parked before her…and just then, the doors flung open and two men alighted from the car.

She pushed her butt backward, fighting to stand, but they had already approached her. She shook her head, "Who are you? What can….."

She was cut short as they dragged her up and pulled her along. One of them yanked her by the hair towards the car, and she was thrown into it.

Mouth agape, she was uncertain what exactly to ask, and then the door was shut.

"Be a good woman-" came a masculine voice from the back…a voice she had heard somewhere but wasn't supposed to exist any longer.

When she turned, he was one she didn't anticipate to set her eyes on ever again.

"You are supposed to be dead, Beta Tyrion…" she muttered, unable to control her breathing rate.

A single nod. "And I came back to life because of you. Interesting, right?"

A day later, at the Alpha's palace.

A thunderous slap resounded in the hall, stunning the whole guards around the corner. Alpha Dante was out of his mind. He didn't expect this to take such a time.

He walked closer to the three bounty hunters who were rubbing their cheeks. He was the first man to raise his hand on them and the only one that had the power to do so. They bow to him-they are controlled by him-and were trained by him as well.

"You three are useless…!!!!" he screeched, stamping his foot heavily on the floor. "What is the essence of having you when she can't be found? Do you think I believe those rumors that she is dead?" he nibbled on his bottom lip, turning his back on them.

His eyes caught the report he had just gone through about Evelyn's death, and that was nothing to him. She was already punished and useless to the pack, so her death was nothing to him.

"I can sense her wolf. She is alive somewhere, yet you three can't find her." he turned to face them again. "I must find her, even if it means invading human land…." he remarked and stormed out of the hall back to his room.

He pulled out the office cloth he was putting on and hurried into the bathroom. Within minutes, he was already done freshening up and began getting dressed.

It's already ages since he dressed like a Mafia, and that's because of his role as the Supreme Alpha, but as it is, he has no other choice. He would search for Lena and find her himself no matter what.

He had his jacket on and then slid his gun into his pockets, alongside bullets. Picking up his gloves, a knock came on his door.

"It's Odessa!!!"

He glanced at the door and scowled. "Come in!!"

The door opened, and Odessa walked into the room and bowed to him. "Alpha, the baby won't stop crying. We've tried our best to…."

"Keep trying! You must make sure he stops crying…." he cut her short and exited the room.

There was nothing he could do. The baby needs the mother, and bringing back Lena is the only way to bring back his happiness and that of the child.

"Your Majesty!!"

"I am going alone. Stalk me if you can." he snapped at the hunter that rushed to him.

He headed to his car and stepped in. Just as he ignited the car engine and was ready to leave, he caught a glimpse of a piece of paper on the floor of the car. He bent and picked it up, then opened it.

'I found her before you!' he read inwardly, his brows furrowed.

"What does it mean? Who found her?" He turned the back of the paper to see the main write-up. His eyes grew wide. "Tyrion? Wasn't he executed? I watched him being….." he got his palm on the door to open it but held back instantly. "He found Lena? How was he revived? Or, wasn't he executed? Was that an impersonator?"

He threw the paper on the car seat and smirked. "Those executors will face my wrath later…"
