"I won't waste my breath arguing with you, Noah," Daisy said through gritted teeth. "But whatever you and Bana are planning just know it won't work."

Noah simply shrugged, unimpressed. Without another word, he walked back into the wall, vanishing from Daisy's sight like a ghost.

The moment he was gone, Daisy let out a slow breath, her shoulders slumping slightly. She was alone again.

Escaping wouldn’t be easy, not with the kind of magic these chains holding her carried. But she had noticed something, a small flaw, a loophole in the enchantment. It required blood.

They wouldn’t starve her forever. Eventually, they’d bring food, and when they did, they would have to give her a spoon to use for eating. She just needed one chance, one slip-up, to turn the smallest opportunity into her escape.

She clenched her fists, determination burning in her chest. She knew Bana might be watching her and didn't want the demon lady to feed on her idea.

She just had to wait.

And pray that Nyxoria wouldn’t walk straight into Bana’s trap.

Tharros Castle— Nightfall:

Tharros sensed the moment Vyrelen returned. Careful not to disturb Nyxoria, he adjusted the pillow and placed her head on it and slipped out of bed. The moon was high in the sky, casting its pale glow through the chamber windows, but the room itself was dark. With a quiet clap, the oil lamps and candles came to life, their golden light illuminating the space.

Satisfied, he stepped outside, closing the door gently behind him. Vyrelen stood waiting, his usual unreadable expression in place.

"Did you deliver the message?" Tharros asked.

"Yes, my Emperor. Exactly as you instructed."

"Good." Tharros nodded. "Now, go and inform all the Kings and Queens about the upcoming fight. They must be present. Make sure they spread the word among their people, whoever wishes to witness a real battle is welcome."

Vyrelen smirked. "A free fight? That will attract a crowd."

"Exactly," Tharros replied. "I want everyone to see what happens when someone dares to challenge me."

"I will make the arrangements, my Emperor."

Tharros studied him for a moment. "Did you notice anything strange when you met Oberon?"

"Not really, but you know Fae has strong magic and Oberon is their King, he will have more magic, my Emperor." Vyrelen answered truthfully.

Tharros exhaled, his eyes darkening. "Then be careful Vyrelen. Whatever tricks he’s hiding, I expect you to handle him."

Vyrelen grinned. "I won’t disappoint you, my Emperor."

"See that you don’t," Tharros said. "Now go."

With a slight bow, Vyrelen disappeared into his shadows.

Tharros turned back toward his chamber, pushing the door open silently. Nyxoria was still fast asleep. Careful not to wake her, he slid into bed beside her, pulling her close until her head rested against his chest once more.

He let out a slow breath, closing his eyes.

Amazon Kingdom— Queen Ashani's Palace:

Vyrelen had informed all the Kings and Queens as instructed, saving Queen Ashani for last.

He entered her chamber to find her seated at a reading table, engrossed in a book about war. She didn’t flinch or act surprised; instead, she simply placed the book down and turned slightly toward him.

"I see you enjoy visiting my palace only at night, Nightweaver. To what do I owe this visit?"

"Apologies for the late hour, Queen Ashani, but I come bearing a message from the Emperor." Vyrelen bowed slightly. "I regret disturbing you at this time."

"It’s fine. What does our Emperor want?"

Vyrelen relayed Tharros' message.

"I will be there," she said simply. "Thank you Nightweaver."

He gave a small nod, and within seconds, his shadows curled around him, swallowing him into the darkness.

Left alone, Queen Ashani sighed and picked up her book again, though the sadness in her eyes lingered.

Dika’s Chamber:

Vyrelen had no intention of returning to the castle just yet. Instead, he followed Dika’s scent, tracing it through the palace halls until he arrived at her chamber.

The moment he stepped inside, he blinked, briefly thrown off by the pitch-black darkness. No open windows, no candlelight. If he didn’t know better, he might’ve thought the room was empty.

A low, threatening voice broke the silence. "Who the hell is in my chamber? Speak now, or you die."

Vyrelen snorted, he could see her on the bed, though he didn't want to tell her he could see her very clearly in the dark. "You have a thing for darkness, or what?"

"You?" Her irritation was evident.

"Who else would it be?" Vyrelen smirked. "Unless, of course, you have a lover?" His voice darkened. "Who is he?"

Dika let out a loud, mocking scoff. "I don’t care to know how you got in here, but get out. Now."

"That would be difficult," Vyrelen murmured, stepping forward. "I haven’t kissed you yet."

"In your damn dreams." She tried not to remember the kiss she and Vyrelen had shared a few hours ago. No, she refuses to think about it.

"I’m not leaving until I do."

"Good luck finding me then," Dika challenged, a smirk on her lips as she silently slipped off the bed.

Vyrelen chuckled. "You think I can’t find you in the dark?"

She didn’t respond, quietly stepping away. She heard him moving toward the bed, then the sound of his disappointed groan when he found it empty.

"Where are you, Dika?" he sang, drawing out her name like a taunt.

She crept closer, then without warning, threw a hard punch at his face. The force barely made him stumble, but it was enough to make her grin, until his hand shot out, gripping her wrist. He had allowed the punches to hit him so that he could touch her.

"You like playing with fire," Vyrelen murmured, his voice dangerously smooth. "I love it."

Before she could react, he shoved her against the wall, pinning her in place. The impact stole the breath from her lungs.

His fingers traced the sharp line of her jaw, firm yet teasing, as if he was testing how much she could take before she could break.

Dika smirked despite her breathlessness. "And you love getting burned."

Vyrelen's grip tightened. "You know, I can see you just fine in the dark."

Fool. Dika silently cursed herself, she had forgotten that he has shadows so which means definitely he could see in the dark.

Before she could snap back at him, his lips crashed against hers. Hard. Possessive. Demanding.

It wasn’t gentle.

It wasn’t kind.

It was raw, demanding, and laced with the fury neither of them could name.

Dika bit down on his lower lip once again, hard enough to draw blood.

She should’ve pulled away. Should’ve spat it out but like before she didn't. It was like the moment his blood hit her tongue, something inside her snapped.

The taste was intoxicating.

A moan slipped past her lips as she swallowed, her fingers gripping his shoulders, nails digging in deep enough to leave marks.

Vyrelen groaned in response, pressing closer, devouring every sound, every breath from her. His free hand slid down, fingers brushing over the curve of Dika's waist before gripping her thigh, pulling her against him in a way that made it clear, this was his possession, that she could only belong to him.

But Dika's mind was too focused on his blood, too hungry for more. And the fact that Vyrelen wasn’t stopping her only made it worse.

Finally, he broke the kiss, his lips hovering just over hers.

"You taste good," he murmured, his voice thick with amusement. "Sweet. But I wonder… how much more will you give me before you beg?"

Dika’s breathing was uneven, her pupils blown wide, but she still smirked. "You assume I will beg you for more?"

Vyrelen fingers trailed lower, his touch both soft and threatening. "You will, my angry goddess."

"In your damn dreams."

And then just as quickly as he had come, he vanished into his shadows, leaving behind a very pissed off Dika.
