Chapter 93 93
CHAPTER NINETY-THREE
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
I let out a growl, my eyes locked on the hostile pack.
"I want to see your leader, now!" I shouted, my voice roaring over the snarling and growling of the wolves.
There was a shuffling and the hostile pack leader, a massive black wolf, took a step forward, his black eyes fixed on me. "You must be Lucian," he growled, his voice dripping with malice. "I've heard a lot about you."
I sneered, my lip curling back. "And I've heard nothing about you. What's your business here?"
"I'm Ryker Flame. Beta of Redscar Park. And I'm here because there is something we want." He smiled, showing sharp teeth. "Your father sent us a tip. It seems like he wants you dead."
I raised an eyebrow, my mind racing. Of course get had to be behind this. I expected it.
"He's not my father." I growled.
"Don't care. Just let us have what we came for, then we can be on our jolly way. Unless you would like this the hard way."
Was he threatening me? Did he just threaten me? With a fierce roar, I shifted into my wolf form, my clothes tearing as my body transformed. Kieran and Kale shifted too, howling at the other men to shift.
The fight began, with wolves clashing and snarling, their teeth and claws flashing in the moonlight. I lunged at Ryker, my jaws snapping mere inches from his throat. He dodged, but I was relentless, my paws flying as I attacked him again and again. Kieran fought beside me, he was fast and agile, knowing when to dodge and weave through the enemy's attacks. I took down wolf after wolf, my teeth and claws deadly. Ryker and I clashed, our jaws snapping and clashing as we fought for dominance.
He barred his fangs at me, his body tensed and ready to attack at any time.
"I don't care how strong or stubborn you are but you won't stop me from getting what I came here for today."
I replied.
"Try me. The only thing you're getting today is defeat."
He paused, panting harshly and sneered.
"You're just a fallen alpha that has been declared a rogue. Step away from me or I'll barely your secret out to everyone."
I snarled, my fangs bared. "I'm not afraid of you or anyone else."
With a snarl, I swiped his face with my claw, he moved back giving me a chance. I immediately jumped and latched my fangs Into Ryker's throat. His body wiggled fiercely under me, kicking up dust but I held on tightly and kept biting until he finally went still. The scent of blood filled my nose and spread into the air while dripping from my mouth. I flung his body away like a bug and leaped back into the fighting fray. the night air.
As I shifted back to my human form, Kieran walked to stand beside me, nursed a wound on his side, his eyes sharp. "Lucian, are you okay?"
I nodded, exhaustion washing over me. "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you okay?"
He nodded. "Yeah, its just a scratch. It'll heal."
"Okay."
I said nothing more, at that moment, the feeling of temporary agreement settled between us. We had won and no casualties, that was enough.
"Alpha!"
We both turned at the call to see Kale dragging a man. The man had blood spilling from his head and hands and he kept struggling to get out of his grasp.
"A Hostage. I managed to keep him alive, we can interrogate him and find out what they came here for."
Kieran nodded at him, a tired smile on his face.
"Good job, Kale. Let's hope they say something useful."
Kieran and I approached the man, my eyes filled hate as I stared at him.
"Talk. Why did you come here?" Kieran commanded in his alpha voice.
The man's words started spilling out like a confession, his voice shaking with fear as he had no choice but to obey him.
"My...my alpha has been searching for Aurora for weeks now, ever since we found out about her special abilities. He wants her because he believes that by mating with her,he will be unstoppable and he'll stop at nothing to get her."
I listened, my expression cold, as the man revealed more about the Red Scar pack's plans.
"He knows about her and what her bloodline means."
"Who told him about her?" I asked.
"Your father. Alpha Desmond."
I almost punched him while hugging my hair.
"He's not my fucking father! How long do I have to say this!!!
"Calm down Lucian. He's still speaking.
"Like I said, he was the one who told my alpha and informed us where you two might be right now. His plan was for us to bring her with us then kill you all."
I snarled, my anger boiling over. "You'll never get your hands on her," I growled, my voice menacing.
The man swallowed, his eyes darting to Kieran and Kale, who were watching with cold, calculating gazes. "I-I don't think it's just about getting her," he stammered. "I think it's personal. I think someone close to you is working with the Red Scar pack. Someone other than your fat...I mean...other than Alpha Desmond."
Kieran's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. "Who?" he growled.
The man shook his head, his eyes wide with fear. "I-I don't know. But I overheard something, something about a traitor in the pack. I think it's someone close to you, Alpha Lucian."
I felt a surge of anger and betrayal, my mind racing with possibilities. Who could be working against me? And what did they want with Aurora? It couldn't be Griffin and certainly not Talia, thy had no idea where we were. And I'm sure there's no way Griffin would ever betray me. Then who could it be?
Suddenly, the mans eyes went wide, and he let out a choked cry. His body went limp, and he fell to the ground, a dagger buried in his cheV
