Chapter 91 91
CHAPTER NINETY-ONE
LUCIAN'S P.O.V.
"Tell them everything? Like what?" I frowned.
"Like what power she holds and what you are currently going through in your pack. For now, you are just my guests who came to see me. They have no idea what's going on in your pack."
"For something important. We came to see you for something important. Don't forget that." I finished for him.
He didn't answer, he simply glared at me but I glared at him back.
"Ha ha! Thanks Alpha Kieran, you are the best." Aurora diffused the tension while pulling me to stand besides her.
"You both can have your shower and get ready. They'll be waiting."
"Sure. Bye. Thanks."
Immediately he left, she hit me on my chest.
"Ow. What was that for?"
"Behave Lucian, I'm at my limits." She growled as she sat down, closing her eyes.
I wanted to protest or at least defend myself but then I changed my mind.
"I'm sorry."
She let out a sigh.
"That's what you keep saying. Go shower, I'll shower after you."
I moved a few steps then I paused and turned to her, a smirk on my lips.
"You don't want to join me?"
She opened her eyes, chuckled then picked up a pillow and threw it at me.
"Go!"
"Fine."
Thankfully, Kieran still had the sense to give us extra clothes because our clothes luggages were still in the car. We were done in less than an hour. He had a sour look on his face as we walked towards him, a casual smile on my lips.
"Lead the way. Alpha."
For once, putting respect in my voice. He seemed to notice it too because he simply nodded, then turned, we followed silently behind him.
The air suddenly buzzed with energy as he led us through the grand entrance of the Silver Claw Pack’s gathering hall. Pack members, men and women alike allturned to stare at us. I was used to attention, but this...this was different. Their gazes flicked between me and Aurora like we were some grand spectacle.
“Welcome our guests!” Kieran announced, moving to stand in the center of the room. “Lucian Vaughn, future alpha of the Blackclaw Pack, and Aurora Steel…” He glanced back at her, a different gleam in his eye, “A valued friend of mine.”
I cleared my throat letting out a short cough.
"And my mate."
Kieran gave me a cold look but I deflected him by looking away. I can't have them thinking I'm challenging their alpha. As for Aurora, she stood beside me, her posture graceful and determined, no sign of unease showing on her face. Her white hair shimmered like silver under the chandeliers, and her golden eyes stood out like twin suns. She looked otherworldly ethereal as I stared at her and I wasn’t the only one who noticed. My ears picked up the murmurs from lustful males immediately.
“Is that her real hair?”
“She looks like a seer…”
"No, she looks like a goddess, look ar her eyes."
“She’s beautiful… I wish she didn't have a mate yet."
That brought out a growl from me which I directed at the young men with a snarl, they immediately lowered their heads and shut up.
I caught a few girls near the corner whispering and glaring, not even hiding it. Their eyes roamed over me like something they wanted to possess, then narrowed on Aurora. Glaring daggers at her like she’d stolen something that belonged to them.
“She doesn’t even smile,” one of them scoffed.
“Bet she’s only here because of her looks,” another muttered, loud enough for Aurora to hear.
I clenched my jaw, my teeth grinding against each other. How dare they talk about her like that? I opened my mouth, about to snap at them when I felt her hand onine. I looked into her eyes. They were serene and shinning, like she found it amusing.
"I'm fine."
"But they..."
"They are just jealous. Its not everyday you get to see such a beauty like me, you know." She grinned then flicked her hair, we heard a collection of gasps from around us.
"She smiles?"
"She talks!"
"Gosh! She's so beautiful!"
"He's so hot!"
"And sexy!"
I tried to keep a straight face, I really tried but when I saw Kieran's cold face and the way his eyelids were twitching, a laugh burst out from me.
"Yep, I'm hot and sexy. Keep the compliments coming." I smirked. Many of the girls swooned, fanning themselves as they stared at me.
"Ahem!" Kieran let out a cough, giving his pack members reproachful looks, they immediately calmed down.
"Like I said, they are guests who came to see me...for something important. And they will be staying here until thru need to leave. Now, do not disturb them and do not try to probe in areas that do not concern you. Am I clear?"
"Yes Alpha!" They all chorused.
"Look at him, acting so stoic and brace in front of Aurora. Too bad, she'll still be mine." I sneered while dragging her hand in mine, she gave me a questioning gaze but I just shrugged. We made our way to the large dinning room, Kieran showed us a table which looked more grand and luxurious than the others. A young man was seated at the middle, he had short brown hair and black eyes with a buff build. He seemed to be waiting for us, as soon as we sat down, he smiled at us.
"Hello. My name is Kale Storm. I'm Kieran's beta, nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you Kale." Aurora smiled at him.
"Pleasure is ours." I answered softly, looking at him just made me remember Griffin. I hope he's doing okay in that dungeon. What am I even saying? There was no way anyone would feel better in there.
"Lucian?" Aurora's soft voice pulled me out of my thoughts, I looked at her.
"Huh?"
She leaned towards me, her eyes warm.
"Are you alright?"
She must have sensed my change of mood, one of the perks of our mate bond.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I smiled at her, she smiled back.
"So..." Kale leaned closer and laced his fingers together once Kieran was seated and we were eating. "...have you thought of a way to defeat your fatheV
?"
