CHAPTER NINETY
AURORA'S P.O.V
His eyes bulged out, his mouth opened and closed a few times. I tilted my head worriedly.
"Are you alright?"
He gulped and leaned closer, "Did you say sleep with you? I heard sleep with you, what did you mean by that?" He asked with a strange eagerness, grabbing my hand.
So he thought I meant something else, like sex? No! I was just trying to help! With my face flushed, I yelled at him, my voice filled with indignation. I pulled my hand away from his.
"Lucian. When I said sleep with me, I meant sleep beside me. Nothing else, get your head out of the gutter."
"Oh...I'm so sorry. Forgive me." He apologized then scratched the back of his head, a shepherd smile on his face. "For a minute you had me there. I was ready to kneel at your feet and worship you."
His eyes were deep and dreamy as he stared into my eyes, I swallowed slowly, licking my suddenly dry lips.
"Y...you need to stop that."
"Stop what?" He asked innocently.
"Whatever you're doing." I snapped then turned away and grunted. "Are you still interested in sleeping or you want to go back to your little cabin."
Immediately, he rushed and jumped on the bed right beside me, I shivered when I felt his heat behind my back. I did a little shimmer away from him, clearing my throat nervously. How is it that though we have done a lot of intimate things not involving sex, I still feel awkward and nervous now that he's right beside me.
"Goodnight." I blurted out sharply then closed my eyes.
"Goodnight Aurora." He replied back softly.
I slept with a small smile on my lips, my name sounded way too sexy on his lips. I liked it.
"You let him sleep in your room? With you?"
"Yeah, is that a problem?"
"Lucian. But yes Alpha Kieran, he was having a bit difficulty sleeping so I offered to let him sleep beside me."
"You offered?"
"Yeah, is there a problem?"
"Lucian, stop it. Yes, I offered, is there a problem?"
This was the conversation I woke up to this morning when Alpha Kieran came to see me. Lucian had still been snoring away but once Alpha Kieran was in, his eyes popped open like a robot. Alpha Kieran looked pretty shocked to see Lucian while Lucian just kept a hard frown on his face, glaring daggers at him.
"It's not that...but..." Alpha Kieran tried to answer but Lucian cut him off.
"Then if its not a problem, why do you look like you just saw your wife on the bed with another man." He waved a finger at him. "Don't have any ideas, she's mine. My mate and I don't think I need to explain why I'm sleeping in the same room with my mate."
Alpha Kieran glared at him then glanced at me. I simply shrugged and pointed at Lucian.
"What he said, though with respect of course."
The two men gasped. Their hands on their chest while they stared at me.
"What is it?"
Alpha Kieran shook his head, his eyes round.
"I'm shocked you actually agree with him.
Lucian nodded his head, his eyes crinkling at the sides.
"I'm shocked you actually agreed with me."
"After all this time? Of course I'll agree with you on this because it actually makes sense. I am your mate, so I don't think its a problem for you to stay in my room."
He pressed his quivering lips together and stared at me with pride and something like affection in his eyes.
"That's my mate." He wagged his eyebrows at Alpha Kieran while grinning.
Alpha Kieran growled at him then spoke with gritted teeth.
"I don't mind you staying in your mate's room. I mind you not letting me know that you were in my pack house. How the hell did you get in here anyway?"
Lucian shrugged casually.
"The window, it was easy. And if you are pissed about me secretly entering your pack house, you could have avoided it by simply giving me a room here."
"Never." Alpha Kieran shook his head.
Lucian clapped his hands, a smirk on his face.
"Then expect me to keep sneaking in a lot of times, maybe every time."
"Don't you dare."
"Then try me, I'm not afraid of you. I can leave your pack right away if you want it, I don't need to do your everything whim just because we asked for your help.
Alpha Kieran opened his mouth to speak but Lucian continued.
"With Aurora of course, even if she refuses." He darted a glance at me then back to him.
Alpha Kieran closed his mouth, looking like he had no urge to say what he had wanted to say early. He looked calm but his eyes were twitching and the veins on his forehead were bulging and pulsing. I sighed to myself in exasperation. What brought on this argument? Its such a petty topic, we had more important things to discuss.
"Hey guys! Snap out of it. This is pointless and petty especially for alphas like yourselves."
"He's no longer an alpha." Alpha Kieran growled.
"Says who?" Lucina growled back, his body tensing at the topic.
"Stop! Its way too early for this. In case you guys have forgotten, we have more important things to deal with. Like how you're going to help us " I glared at Alpha Kieran then I glared at Lucian. "And how we're going to defeat Desmond and set our pack free from his clutches. Remember your mom?"
Lucian lowered his head, his eyes going sombre.
"Yeah, you're right." He raised his head and took a deep breath, staring at Alpha Kieran with a serious look.
"I'm sorry. Let's start this afresh. What do you want us to do?"
Alpha Kieran crossed his hand across his chest.
"First of all, I have to introduce you to my pack. But this time, don't tell them everything."
