Chapter 46 46
CHAPTER FORTY-SIX
AURORA'S P.O.V
After Lucian had left with the four men, I had stayed at my position on the bed for a long while, my mind still relieving the last few momments in my head. My flushed skin was finally cooling down, going back to its usual paleness. Thank goodness, the heat had passed. Now it was time for the next thing. Why had Lucian been taken away. Slowly, I sat up from the bed and headed for the shower. This time, I opted for a hot shower, my body felt sticky and drowsy from the amount of sweat and orgasm I had worked up. It didn't take me long to be fully dressed and about to head out when a knock came from the door.
"Come in."
The door opened and Griffin walked in, his face grim with dark shadows. I stared at him worriedly. I noticed he was alone, no Lucian.
"Is everything alright? What about Lucian? Is he out yet?"
He shook his head.
"Lucian was taken to the dungeon because he was accused of committing treason." He announced, his voice gruff with emotion.
My hands fell to my sides as I stared at him.
"Treason? What do you mean by treason? He would never do that.!" I exclaimed.
"I know that but his father, the alpha has declared it so. I have no idea why he's doing this. I was going to go see him but I decided to check up on you first.".
"I'm coming with you." I told him flatly but he shook his head strongly.
"No. You have to stay put."
"How do you expect me to stay put when he is in the dungeon for something he didn't do?"
"That's all the more reason why you should stay put. We have no idea what his father might do next. If he can put his own son in the dungeon then what about you, the mate that he's been trying to get rid of."
The words I intended to say hitched in my throat. What he said made sense but I didn't want to do nothing while he suffered.
"Then what can I do to help?" I asked him with a helpless sign.
"Just stay here. For your own good and his, please."
I bit my lips then discreetly placed my hand behind me while interlocking my index and middle finger in the "finger-cross" gesture.
"I promise to do that."
He nodded, his eyes lowered slightly looking relieved.
"Thank you. I'll see you later."
He nodded then left the room. I placed my head door and glanced at my watch.
"Okay, I'm gonna wait ten minutes, after ten minutes I'm going to see that brute." I murmured to myself.
Its high time I faced him one on one, I'm sure he's only doing this because of me.
Ten minutes went by with a snail's pace. I opened the door and headed straight to his study. I reached the door and raised my hand to knock but then I felt he had lost respect in that aspect. With a growl, I pushed the door open.
"Alpha Desmond!" I called his name, my voice firm but not too loud.
He raised his head to look at me, immediately he saw me, his eyes narrowed and a snarl escape his lips.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to confront you."
"What?" He squinted, standing up slowly.
I placed my hands on my hips.
"You heard me. Why on earth will you do that to Lucian? You know he is innocent.".
"He dared to defy my orders and so he must be punished."
I scoffed, "What do you mean by that? He's done nothing wrong. He was only expressing his own opinions and choosing his choices. Especially since you decide to be a dick on his case."
"How dare you!" His voice thundered through the office, I flinched but then I stood my ground and moved closer to him.
"Let him out."
"Make me. The only way I can let him out is if you agree to a few conditions."
I took a deep breath.
"What are the conditions?"
He smirked then sat down and slowly crossed his legs.
"Reject Lucian, I don't care how you do it, make him reject you. Leave this pack, I don't care where you go to. You can go with Alpha Kieran if you like. And lastly..." He leaned closer, his fangs showing, "...never step your foot in this pack. Do you agree?" He reclined back in his chair as he raised his head while sneering at me.
This...this was a tough choice but if I didn't do it, there is a high chance that he won't let Lucian go. I can't live with the guilt of knowing that I am the cause of his imprisonment. I stared at him, my voice unsure as I spoke.
"If I agree to all these...do you promise to let him go and never come at him again?"
He did an X sign on his chest, a grin on his face.
"Cross my heart and hope to die."
Its worth a shot. I nodded my head, my hands clenched tight.
"Okay, I'll do it. Now let him go."
He held up a hand and wagged a finger at me, then he stood up and pulled out a piece of document and slid it to me on the table.
"Sign this." He tapped on it.
"What is this?"
"A written agreement that states you agreed to all the conditions I gave you. If you fail to adhere to any of them..." He gave me a hard gaze. "...you will be killed and it wouldn't be my fault."
"Whatever."
I slowly pulled the document to me and took the pen he offered, my hand inched towards the document to sign when suddenly the door burst open and I heard a loud roar.
"Desmond! Have you gone crazy?"
He stood up, his face harsh as he stared at the woman.
"Eleanor! What are you doing here?" He gritted out.
The woman had dark hair that she let fall on her shoulders, gray eyes and a soulful face that was twisted with the raging anger shining through her eyes.
"You have the audacity?" She trembled with rage as she spoke. "Did you think that just because I keep quiet I wouldn't do anything when I find out that my son is in the dungeon, For No Fucking Reason!?"
