Chapter 30 30
CHAPTER THIRTY
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
"Lucian..." She started, "Aurora...is not as simple as you might think."
I stared at her, silently waiting.
"She's actually not an Omega like everyone thinks. No bloodfang clan can ever be an Omega." She told me firmly. "Your father hates her because he is afraid of what she will be."
"What she will be?"
"Yes." She nodded and stopped to take a sip of water. "This pack wasn't always ruled by your father. It was ruled by the original Bloodfang clan. They were a clan that was said to be the direct descendants of the moon goddess. Their bloodline was so powerful that no one could easily defeat them, it is even said that they could draw upon the direct power of the moon goddess whenever they needed it."
"Wow." I was entralled, "Then...where are they now and how do they connect with Aurora?"
"She is actually the secret last remaining descendants of those powerful people."
My eyes went wide as I gaped.
"Are you serious?"
She nodded, a grim look on her face.
"If she is still seen as an Omega, then it means she hasn't awakenened her powers yet. Your father knows this and is trying to get rid of her. Though he has forgotten that the awakening doesn't show itself when its about to happen. It just happens." She leaned towards me, her voice going low, "If I am correct, she should have started showing some signs by now. I think you should ask her."
I blew out a puff of air as I scratched my neck.
"I don't know. This is all so overwhelming, what if I tell her and she refuses to believe me. Or she doesn't tell me, what should I do?"
"Then you give her space and let her tell you on her own terms, when she has enough trust in you."
"Fine, I'll tell her...and I'll try not to push her into anything she doesn't want."
She smiled as she nodded.
"Good, remember...no matter what, do not let your father hurt her. She could be the answer to the prayers of the pack members. Your father is too cruel."
I nodded slowly as I hummed.
"So...what actually happened to the actual Bloodfang people? How did they disappear and leave only Aurora? How was she found."
She shook her head, a troubled look in her eyes.
"No one knows. It was your father that fond her as a baby crying alone in the woods, covered in blood. When he moved that she be killed or sent to another place, his father, the then alpha refused and ordered she be raised as a normal Omega in the pack. He was the one who also gave her the name, Aurora Steel."
"I see." My voice went hard, "Even as a baby she still suffered but managed to escape his claws. Thank you mom. You just gave me answers to a lot of questions."
A relieved smile crossed her face as she patted my hand.
"You're welcome son. Now go, you don't want your father finding out you came here right? He might act up again."
I frowned and growled.
"If he does, I don't mind putting him in his place."
"Oh and one more thing." She began, "They are always known for their pyre white, snowy fur. Other things can change later."
"White fur?" My eyes went wide. "Is that why dad made it a taboo for anyone with white fur?"
She nodded. "I'm afraid yes. You should do well to protect her. I'm sure her fur must be showing."
I kissed her goodbye and headed back to my study. To my surprise, I discovered that I had spent close to two hours with Mom.
"Time sure flies fast huh." I murmured.
As soon as I had settled in my seat, a knock on the door sounded.
Without opening my eyes, I answered.
"Griffin, you can come in. You don't have to knock, you know."
The door opened and he walked in, a smirk on his face as he pulled out a chair to sit.
"I guess I like to ask before I enter, especially after that last traumatic event."
I winced and glared at him.
"That was just a one time event and I had been drunk."
"Yeah, but it still didn't stop me from seeing you and a strange lady going at it like a wolf in heat."
If only I could erase that time. It happened two years ago, dad and I just had a serious argument about mom. So I had gone out and gotten drunk. I don't know what had occurred to me to bring the chick into my study. But yeah, we were having sex when Griffin walked in on us. I still remember his shocked face as he saw me pounding into the young woman. And for all I did, I simply told him to close the door as he was going out.
"I was in a bad place at that time and..." I leaned closer and whispered while glaring at him. "...please lower your voice because you do t kow when Aurora might walk in."
He smirked, he eyes shining as he nodded.
"I get it. Its so strange seeing you afraid because of a girl."
"She's not just any girl, she's my mate."
I grumbled.
He chuckled then cleared his throat.
"So, did you get the answers to your questions? From your mom?"
I nodded.
"Yes, and its a lot. I intend to tell Aurora when she comes back."
"What do you want to tell me?" Aurora's voice suddenly filtered in as the door opened, she stepped in with an exhausted face as she walked towards Griffin and sat beside him.
"Hey." She nodded. "I was informed you were here and wanted to see me."
I glanced at Griffin and smiled at her.
"Yes...I have something to tell you."
Griffin stood up.
"I'll be going..."
"No stay." I stopped him. "I trust you, and I think its right for you to know about this too."
He glanced at Aurora with uncertain eyes as he sat down.
"If you say so."
She looked between Griffin and I, her eyebrows going up.
"What's going on with you guys? Is everything okay? Did your dad do something again?"
I shook my head.
"No, its none of that." I took a deep breath. "Its about you."
"Okay." She blinked and relaxed back against her chair. "Alright, tell me. I'm all ears."
How do I start?"
"Aurora...have you been having any strange behaviors lately?"
She suddenly froze, the whites of her eyes clearly visible.
"What!"
"Have you been..you know...seeing some...strangeness...in you?" I carefully asked again.
She swallowed, her face white and pale.
"How did you know?"
