Chapter 177 177
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-SEVEN
LUCIAN'S POV
"Can someone please explain to me why the fuck have we been standing out here doing nothing?" Kieran growled beside me for the umpteenth time.
I snapped my head towards him and growled back.
"And as I replied during all the ten times you have asked, we are waiting."
"Waiting?" He growled then glanced at Aurora who had her eyes on the door, sqinted slightly as if she was listening to something then he glanced back at me, his nose flared. "We have been waiting for thirty minutes! Thirty freaking whole minutes! Don't you think its time we go in?"
"Shush!" She suddenly pressed a finger to his lips, her eyes still concentrating on the door, he froze, staring at her finger in shock.
My gaze stayed on her face because I might just pry him away from her if I do.
She had an excited look on her face. "I'm almost done. He's gonna say it."
"Say what?" I asked curiously, what could she be listening to, I can't hear a thing.
No matter how much we tried to listen with our enhanced senses, we couldn't. It was as if the sounds from the room were being blocked by something inside. Even though I had stayed quiet, I was also dying to know why we were standing outside the door since one of Auron's men, Gail, he said his name was, led us here. And so I've been waiting but Kieran hasn't been making it easy for me with his constant growling and questioning. I shot a look at Kale who stood quietly beside Gail, the both of them were watching us with amused looks on their faces. Don't tell me he just made a friend. It's that easy for him?
"Hey!" I hissed at him.
"Yeah."
"Hold your alpha before I do it myself..."
I narrowed my eyes. "...and it won't be pretty."
He nodded with a sigh and gently pulled him away from Aurora's finger, of course she barely even noticed it.
"Why did you..." Kieran frowned.
Kale smiled at him.
"Let's respect her boundaries okay?"
Gail let out a muffled sound, he was laughing at him. Kieran looked offended.
"Her boundaries? I didn't do anything. She was the one who..."
"Respect her boundaries." I whispered fiercely.
He pressed his lips tightly together, a cold glare directed at me, I looked away. Don't look at me, its my mate right there. I have everything right to act this way. Aurora suddenly clapped her hands, a grin on her face.
"Let's go!"
"She said let's go." Kieran sighed. "Finally".
She pushed the doors with her leg and bounced in.
"Hello motherfucker!"
She suddenly hollered loudly, her hands on her hips. Kieran and I had to look at her then glance at each other before shrugging. At this moment, we knew she meant business. With a nod, I, Kieran and Kale flanked her sides to show our support, though I'm sure she doesn't need it. She certainly can have this herself.
The room we entered was a stark and bare room with nothing but a simple iron chair. It was painted black and the place smelled like fire. I noticed Auron and nodded at him, he nodded back along with the men standing behind him. The object of their focus happened to be a weathered, old man, in his late sixties I think. He wore a long, black cloak and his head was bald, like red, shiny bald.
Wait!
My eyes flew up in shock. I stared at the man, was this the Elder Mikhail? He does look elderly, but what's with the bald head.
"Man, his head is so shiny. And red, like what the fuck. It looks like a hundred people slapped his head at once." Kale could not help muttering.
As soon as he said that Gail, behind us butts into laughter, then Kale joined him. I pressed my lips together to keep from laughing too because I needed to keep my composure like Kieran. I snuck a look at Auron and asked with my eyes about the head, and he nodded while grinning and pointing at his hands. Ah! I nodded in understanding, he must have used his powers burn the man's hair.
"Why are you laughing!? How dare you laugh at me!?" The old man screeched loudly, his eyes wide with anger and his face red. "And who are you?" He poured a finger at Aurora and us.
"Hi. You couldn't have forgotten me right? Its not so long ago that we met. Hmmm?", Aurora grinned at him, fluttering her lashes but I could tell that she was brimming with anger.
We watched as his eyes nearly popped out of his head in realization, he took a stumbling step back, his finger still pointed at her.
"You? Its you! I know that from the face and the hair...and the voice. What are you doing here?" He hissed at her.
She shrugged, stepping closer, her boot making clicking sound against the floor cemented.
"I've came here to pay my respects. You know, thank you for everything you did and didn't do."
He began to tremble, a horror struck look on his face as he darted his gaze to Auron.
"Stay away! A...Auron...tell her to stay away from me. You can't kill me! You can't hurt me! I raised you. I made you who you are. You can't do this to me."
Auron looked round him with a fake helpless look on his face.
"But I'm not doing anything, I'm standing right here. Why are saying I'm doing something when I'm not."
"You...you have to stop her. She's going to kill me."
"But I never said I was going to kill you." Aurora scoffed, her hands clasped behind her.
He shook his head and gulped, inching backwards, as if he wanted to disappear into the wall.
"I know you don't want to spare me. Why don't you listen to my own side of the story?"
She shook her head, rolling her eyes.
"I spent the last few minutes listening to everything you were saying to my brother through the twin link,..."
So that explains why she wanted to wait, she was listening all along.
"...every twisted word, every deceitful plan, so you don't have to repeat yourself on what you did and how you raised him. We all know that if things had gone your way, my brother and I wouldn't be here. Right?" She cocked a head at him, still smiling. "Anyway, as for your punishment, tell me what you think I should do to you? I'm ready to listen to your suggestions." She crossed her hands across her chest.
