Chapter 162 162
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-TWO
AURON'S P.O.V
She slowly smiled, spreading her hands in front of her in a calming gesture.
"It's alright. You don't have to be afraid..."
"I'm not afraid." I interrupted, my eyes flashing with agitation. "Who are you?"
She flashed me a grin.
"I'm Eleanor, nice to meet you. And aren't you handsome, just like your sister, only that she is beautiful. To think a face like this could give such stress to dear Aurora, not nice young man. Not nice." She waved a slim finger at me.
My posture slightly relaxed.
"You know Aurora?"
She chuckled.
"Know? She's my daughter."
"What!" I yelled, not sure what I was hearing. Did she just say her daughter? "Did you just say she's your daughter?" I asked, inching forward, my earlier agitation forgotten.
Eleanor tilted her head to the side, looking upward with her lips pressed.
"Hmm, well technically, she's my daughter in law, but I see her as my daughter so that's why I call her my daughter. What...she can't be my daughter? Are you saying I'm not suitable to have her as my daughter?" She glared fiercely at me.
I shook my head quickly, taking a step back, suddenly feeling the temperature drop as she continued glaring at me. But I was secretly relieved now that I understood her.
"No, no. I didn't mean that. I was just...shocked and you know...surprised when I heard you..say...that she was...your daughter. B..but now I know. You look good by the way, beautiful."
Her face bloomed into wide smile just as quickly as it had given scary earlier.
"Aww, such nice words, thank you. I am flattered, I know I'm beautiful, still rocking it " she preened herself.
I nodded at her, relieved and at the same time confused but the way her emotions changed, that's when I realized what she said.
"Wait a minute! Did you just say you're her mother in law? That means..." My eyes went wide, "...you're Lucian's mother?"
She clapped her hands gleefully.
"Exactly, you hit the nail on the wall. Now, I was so excited to meet you when they told me about you, that's why I rushed here to wake you up. But seeing you in person just floored me, I'm so happy that the both of you finally got to met each other."
She wiped the beginning tears from her eyes, I stood there awkwardly, not knowing how to react. Just when I was about to ask if she was okay, she suddenly grabbed my hand. How she got over to me so quickly, I had no idea. The next thing I knew, I was being dragged away.
"Come with me, its time during breakfast. We all have to eat together as a family and you are now a member of our family."
"Um...thank you...Mrs..."
"Call me mother or mom." She told me in a firm voice.
"Um..." I don't think I can or should do thay, not knowing how Lucian might feel about his recent enemy calling his mother "mom".
"Fine..." She huffed, rolling her eyes with a frown. "You can call me Eleanor but I expect mother from you after some time."
"Yes ma'am." I answered, not even knowing when we had already reached downstairs and were already standing in front of the dinning table. The chattering of various voices and the clink clank of plates and spoons shook me out of my dazed state.
"Everyone, I've brought our dear Auron;" she suddenly announced.
"Oh hey Auron." Talia greeted with a wave as she arranged the table.
The other guys that were there, couldn't remember their name well but Jake, Kieran, maybe Kane or is it Kale and Eli were also helping to set the other dishes. I thought this was the pack house, why didn't they have people to serve them. The guys noticed me and sent me brief waves and slight smiles.
I nodded glumly, my eyes searching from Aurora.
'Because we decided to be natural when we are all together.' A calm voice sounded in my head.
I swerved to the right and saw Aurora stepping out from the kitchen, Lucian, Griffin, Shawn and two other women, I think Mirabel and Ariel, behind her. Their arms laden with food filled dishes, my stomach immediately growled from the delicious smell waiting through it.
"What's up Auron?" Lucian nodded at me.
Ariel smiled at me.
"Hope you had a great night?"
"Your first breakfast with the family huh?" Mirable grinned, taking the hand of her mate in hers, I watched in slight envy as he easily curled his fingers around hers. Aurora winked at me again and placed the food on the table before walking over to me. I hugged her once she was in close distance with me, she sighed and rubbed my back before stepping back.
"Its better and more comfortable this way. We are already many anyway, making the staff to cook for all of us at once will only be a stress. And I want you be a good Luna, this is an example." She explained as she pulled me to a seat.
"What are you explaining to him?" Lucian asked with a tilt of his brow. "I hope mom didn't bore him to death." He glanced at me worriedly. "Did she?"
Knowing that she was right beside me, staring at me with a careful gaze, I immediately shook my head with a smile.
"No, she was actually lovely."
He shared a knowing glance with Aurora and nodded, as if he understood what I was trying to hide. She quickly went to him and kissed his cheek as if telling him to watch it.
"He was wondering why we didn't use the staff to prepare our meal, so I just told him."
"Oh" he looked at me while pointing at her with a proud look on his face. "One of her many decisions as a Luna, do not stress the staff for something we can clearly do."
"I think that's nice." I told her, giving her a smile, I didn't have anything against not having servers to serve me, I only allowed it because I thought it was normal. She smiled back.
"Thank you, it's the least I could do." Her eyes took on a sad gleam as she looked at her fingers. "I didn't like serving people that much but I did it because of the money. You can face many humiliations from that. I don't want anyone to go through that again."
