CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-THREE
AURON'S P.O.V
She looked sad as she spoke, it gave me insight into what she must have gone through, growing up on her own and having to work just to feed herself. I wished I could hold her hand but she was a few seats away from.
Talia sighed and shook her head.
"Aurora still hasn't forgiven Clara for making her go through a lot in her bar and still firing her all because Lucian announced she was his mate."
"I am not!" She gasped, horrified but Talia gave her a look that said it was.
"Girl, I know you like the back of my have. You might not say it but I know you still feel a bit pissed off at it."
Aurora pursed her lips and shrugged, "Fine, just a bit. I worked so hard there but she just had to let me go, just like that. Anyway that's not important to what I was saying."
I cleared my throat.
"I'm sure they are grateful for your help and they love you because you care for them."
"Thank you." She smiled while sniffing back tears.
"Alright everyone let's eat, I'm starving, I know I'm starving and Jake please stop hiding your lips, I know you're already eating." Lucian growled.
Jake sputtered, almost choking, Mirabel had to rub his back while shaking her head at him.
"You just had to be impatient huh?"
"I'm sorry, but I was so hungry..." He paused to swallow, "...I didn't eat dinner last night and you know I lovey dinners."
"You love anything that has to do with food." Eli rolled his eyes.
Jake grinned at him, his hand already reaching for another piece of bread.
"That I do."
Everyone chuckled including me, the smell of homemade food filled the room and the sounds of cutleries hitting against the plates rang out in a steady tune. It made me feel comfortable, like I was in a normal family for once, I belonged here.
"Mmm."
I couldn't help moaning in delight as I took a first bite of my bacon and eggs, it was heaven. Aurora watched me with a warm eager gaze, prodding me with her eyes to eat more. Of course I obliged, there was no way I'm wasting this much delicious food.
A few minutes to end of breakfast, Lucian cleared his throat and began speaking.
"Guys, as I said we had some important things to discuss. Starting with we're gonna have to say goodbye to our friends here..." He pointed at Mirabel and her brothers.
"Um...why?" I asked curiously.
"Because we have to get back to the pack. We've been away for some long now and as the alpha, it feels like I'm not helping." Eli explained.
"Yep, the pack elders are beginning to complain." Mirabel nodded with a frown as she stabbed her plate. "I get calls constantly asking where we are and what are we doing. Gosh, it's so frustrating you know. I don't wanna go back now."
"I know right, but we have no choice...I'm gonna miss the food....and you guys too. I always miss you guys." Jake says with a nervous laugh.
"We're gonna miss you guys too but as usual, you can come visit or we can come visit when we have the time.",
Aurora smiled sadly at him.
"It was nice meeting you guys. I know how you guys helped my sister even when you didn't need to. Thank you, I hope we see each other again."
Eli smiled, "You're welcome and know that even though we might not be with you to handle this Mikhail guy, if you need us, we're just a call away."
"Thank you." I nodded gratefully at him, it felt nice to be included in theyir thoughts.
"I'm going to miss you guys too..." Kale said but paused from the look he was getting from Kieran. "What?"
"And who told you we are leaving?" He frowned.
Kale glanced round, "Aren't we leaving?" He asked him back confusion in his voice.
"Wait a minute, aren't you leaving?" Lucian asked in a loud voice and eyes narrowed.
"Wait, you're leaving? But I didn't know?" Aurora looked at him sadly.
Kieran then gave Lucian a triumphant look.
"No, I'm not leaving, I wasn't leaving."
"I thought you said you were." Lucian countered.
"I never said that, I don't even remember any conversation we had in which I said that. I am staying here for as long as you guys need me..."
Lucian opened his mouth to say something but Kieran held up a hand to stop him.
"...which is as long as this Elder Mikhail is a problem. And now that our other friends are leaving, you will still need me to help you."
Lucian scoffed.
"And what makes you think I need you?"
"And what makes you think you don't?" Kieran countered with a smirk.
Lucian could only growl and rip into his food with aggression while giving him the stink eye. If looks could kill, Kieran would be dead long ago.
"I'm happy you're not leaving now, I don't think I'm ready to see you leave when you still don't have a mate. We have to find you a mate."
Kieran frowned, his cheeks going pink, "I don't think I need a mate..."
"Oh no you do!" Lucian interrupted fiercely. "You so need a mate and don't worry, I volunteer as the person that will make sure you find her." Then he muttered, "Wherever she may be...if she exists."
Kieran in turn glared at him but Lucian pretended not to notice. I noticed that no one reacted to them strangely, it was like they were used to their bickering behavior. Interesting.
"Anyway..." Aurora started with a piercing glare directed at both Lucian and Kieran. "We are so going to miss you guys and make sure you don't forget to come visit anytime. And hopefully by then Jake would have gotten a mate."
Everyone except Jake sighed.
"Hopefully." Talia said solemnly.
"Hopefully." Kale said while giving him putting looks, followed by everyone chorusing the word "hopefully".
I looked round, confused if I should join in or not, then I opened my mouth but closed it back. I don't think its my place to say that, I also don't have a mate.
"You guys are being so dramatic." Jake simply shrugged still eating.
"Forget him. Now that that is taken care of, Auron, what do you have in ?" Lucian suddenly asked me.
I looked at him, my head tilted.
"About what?"
"About Elder Mikhail?"
