Chapter 125 125
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE
AURORA'S P.O.V
I looked down at the ball, and then up at the women, trying to compose myself.
"Ah, yeah. I guess it just rolled back here." I blinked, "Who could have kicked it though?"
"It was me?"
Just then, Lucian's voice sounded from behind me, I turned, along with the women.
"Lucian?"
A smile immediately settled on his face as soon as our eyes met, I made my way to him without even realizing it.
"What are you doing?"
"I heard you were out on a school visit, so I thought I should come see you." He answered, taking me into a deep hug. His large hands covered my body securely, making me feel safe and comfortable. I dug my face into his shoulders, taking his scent in, I started feeling calm.
"You didn't have to come, but I'm glad you did." I murmured.
"Um...alpha, Luna, we'll be taking our leave now."
"Bye."
"See you later."
The women called out, their voices laced with smiles. I waved at them shyly, my face red.
After they were gone, I tightened my hands on him.
"Aurora, at your okay?" He suddenly asked.
I stiffened.
"Why are you asking?"
He pulled me back to look him in the eyes, his blue eyes shinning as they stared seriously at me.
"Aurora, before I got here, I felt you through the mate bond. You were scared and worried. What happened? Please tell me."
I let out a shuddering breath.
"You're right, Lucian. I saw him, I met him."
He frowned, coming closer.
"Who did you see?"
I locked my dry lips.
"Auron. He was here."
"What?"
A look of alarm and dread crossed his features. Frantically, he looked me up and down, his eyes darting everywhere on my body to check if I was hurt.
"Are you alright? Did he touch you? Were you hurt anywhere?"
I couldn't help the laugh that burst out of me. I patted him on the chest, holding his hand tight in my hand.
"I'm fine, he didn't do anything to me. I'm okay." I left out the part where he touched my cheeks, I didn't think it was that important. It might only just make him more paranoid.
His eyes flashed with anger, and he pulled me into a tight hug.
"What did he do?"
I shook my head, feeling a shiver run down my spine from his warmth. "Nothing. He just...I think he wanted to see me. I asked him for his name, that's how I knew it was him. He told me his nane was Auron."
His grip on me tightened, and I could feel his anger and protectiveness radiating from him.
"Lucian?" I called out softly, I wanted him to be calm, at this rate, he might do something crazy.
He rolled his jaw, his body tensed.
"I'm taking you back to the pack house. Now."
I tried to stop him, I wasn't done with the kids yet.
"But Lucian..."
"Please, Aurora..." His voice cracked, I stared at him shocked at the vulnerability I saw beneath his calm composure.
He brought my hands and kissed the both of them, I ached to run my hands through his hair.
"For me...just listen to me this time, okay?"
His eyes were round and pleading. I nodded, I didn't want to go through this agony of worry just because of me.
"Okay."
"Thank you." He sighed.
He drove me back to the pack house, on the way, we barely said anything, the car filled with tension of what Auron's arrival could mean. We reached the pack house, he stopped the car then rushed to open the door for me. Then he pulled me inside, we didn't stop until we got to his room, now our room, where he made me sit on the bed.
I sat silently, watching him pace up and down for a while. After a few minutes, he stopped and leaned against the wall, his back to me.
"He...he could have hurt you...Aurora."
His voice trembled as he spoke, his veined hand fisted on the wall.
I swallowed slowly, "But he didn't. He seemed more curious than...dangerous...at first."
He spun to face me, his face pak, eyes wide.
"At first? Shit! What do you mean?"
I shifted uncomfortably, fidgeting with my hands.
"After staring at me for a while, he suddenly....he suddenly changed and glared at me with hate...so much hate in his eyes...and accusation..like he blamed me for something." My voice sounded far away as I spoke.
He left the wall and rushed to kneel in front of me.
"That's what I'm talking about, Aurora, he could have hurt you, even worse, get could have killed you. We don't even know why he chose you."
"I'm confused too."
"Okay..." He nodded, "...did you see what he looked like?"
I shook my head helplessly.
"No. He had his face and body covered just like the people that brought the letter. The only difference was that his dressing wasn't plain like theirs, he had designs of roses and...other things. I've forgotten." I squinted trying to remember more. "Oh, his eyes. They were red...a lighter shade at first then when he got angry, they turned dark red, like blood."
He got to his feet and paced a bit more. His shoulders bunched with tension, his eyes closed shut in concentration.
"Who is this person? Who could be be?" He groaned, his voice helpless and angry at the same time.
I stood up and slowly went to him, wrapping my hands around his middle from behind.
"Lucian..." I mumbled his name, his haves came to rest on top of mine, he rested his head back, letting it touch my head.
"I'm not angry with you Aurora. I'm just...I'm just scared that I almost lost you right under my nose."
"If it helps, I was certain he wasn't going to hurt me."
"How could you tell?"
"I just knew. And besides, I'm sure I could have protected myself."
He sighed, then turned and took me in his arms.
"I know that, but I don't think that I can sleep well at night knowing a lunatic like that is out there lying in waiting for you. Neither can I do my work as the alpha without worrying about you always..."
I rolled my eyes.
"So what do you propose?"
He took a deep breath, resting his chin on my head.
"You need a bodyguard!"
