Chapter 14 Truths Unfolds
I bravely stood in front of my grandfather. The moment I saw the vampire behind me, I immediately recognized him. It must be what they call a blood connection.
And I can't allow the only vampire relative I have in this world to be harmed. He might be able to explain everything to me. Doesn't Kaizer remember that we came here to hear my grandfather's explanation about what's happening in my life? Why does the prince of snow seem to have frozen his brain again?
"What the fuck is that, Saera? He's against me! Do you think I can forgive him for what he said? You're mine. Mine alone. Move, Saera, we'll just go to your world and we'll ask your grandmother for an explanation. He's a threat."
What the hell? The temperature of the whole palace is getting colder, even the way I breathe has white smoke coming out because it's so cold.
"I will never forgive you if my grandfather gets hurt, Kaizer," I said firmly.
I felt my grandfather touch my shoulder.
"He can't kill me, hija," my grandfather said, trying to calm me down.
"Who told you, Dimitri?" Kaizer said coldly.
I almost glared at Travis and Randall, who did nothing to stop their freezing brother. And I almost jumped when I heard a loud crash from behind.
I turned around, trembling, and sighed in relief when I saw that my grandfather wasn't hit by the ice shards. Did my grandfather do this? He's quite tough then.
"Your Highness," my grandfather said and immediately knelt.
Your Highness? He's here? I followed the direction where my grandfather was paying respect and saw the first prince of Wisteria. Even I was stunned to see His Highness, who looked like he had been sitting on a chair holding a red rose for a while.
"Larkin..."
Even Kaizer and his two brothers knelt before their brother. I was the only one left standing, so I immediately knelt as well out of respect. Is this really how it is here?
"You are messing too much, Kaizer. As I recall, you were just going to talk."
Kaizer immediately stood up from his kneeling position, as did his brothers, so I stood up as well, along with my grandfather.
"Do you think I'll still talk to that old man if he insulted me? Do you think I'm happy that he said Saera will stay here? Wisteria is not close to Aetherio. Come on, Lord brother, no one can snatch my Saera away. Not even you."
Almost complete silence enveloped the entire palace after Kaizer said that. Damn.
"Then, stop this shit, Kaizer. Do you think you'll win Saera's heart if you kill her grandfather in front of her eyes? You're pushing her away, younger brother."
I could only nod at what His Highness said. The first prince has more sense than the prince of snow.
I just smirked when Kaizer glared at me. He probably heard what I was thinking. Damn this mind link.
'Yes, I heard it, Saera Yvaine Merriley.'
'Then listen to your older brother, I'll talk to you as long as you don't hurt my grandfather.'
'We're already talking, Saera. I don't like your grandfather.'
'Don't worry, the feeling is mutual. He doesn't like you either.'
'You're coming back with me.'
'As you wish, Your Highness.'
'What the hell is that?'
I just smirked at what he said last and didn't answer him anymore.
"Yes, Your Highness," Kaizer answered his brother.
"I apologize for my brother's bad behavior, Dimitri. We're here for your granddaughter. It seems you already know each other. You are what she needs because she has no idea about the role she will play in our kingdom."
My grandfather just nodded to His Highness. My grandfather quickly disappeared from our sight, and His Highness disappeared as well. Where did they go? I thought my eyes could follow them.
"Let's go."
Kaizer just held my hand and in an instant, we arrived at an elegant and long table where His Highness was sitting at the end. On either side of him were his brothers, while my grandfather was at the other end.
Kaizer pulled out a chair for me before he sat next to me.
"Before I start, can I know what you know, hija?" my grandfather asked me.
"We wouldn't be here if Saera knew anything," Kaizer answered bluntly.
"Kaizer," His Highness warned.
"I didn't know I was destined to go to this place. I didn't know I had vampire blood, and I especially don't understand why my grandmother hid this from me."
I handed my grandfather the necklace I wore when I wasn't a vampire.
"My grandmother gave me the necklace before I came to this world. She strictly told me not to take it off. So, since I arrived in this world, I haven't tried to remove it from my body. But we found out that it's what's stopping me from becoming a vampire. I don't understand, lolo, if my grandmother didn't want me to become a vampire, why did she let me come to this place? Why didn't she just break the mirror to prevent these things from happening?" I said to my grandfather at length.
The moment my grandfather was about to speak, I almost closed my eyes when Kaizer's chair moved violently, and when I looked at him, he was no longer in his position. I immediately saw him at the door and going out.
"I can't listen to this, I'll go out first."
I just swallowed at Kaizer's cold voice before he completely left. Was there something wrong with what I said? I was just talking to my grandfather. I was just answering his questions.
"Oh no, it's full of snow outside again. It's sure to rain snow all over Aetherio," Randall said, laughing.
"Why would you break it? Pity the feelings of the prince of snow."
Even Travis was red in the face from holding back his laughter. But His Highness just waved his hands and his brothers quickly fell silent.
"Is that all you know?" my grandfather asked.
"She has this ritual every full moon. She always bathes me in pure milk with prayers. That was too creepy, but I have no choice but to follow her."
My grandfather nodded again at what I said.
"That's not creepy, Saera. It's only natural to bathe you in pure milk, you're bounded to a pureblood vampire, not just a pureblood but a prince. You should maintain your virginity," Randall said with a smirk.
What the fuck?
"I am a virgin with or without that milk bath! Excuse me?!" I answered him irritably.
I heard Travis and Randall laugh again at my answer.
'Hey, you don't need to broadcast that, Saera. I have tasted your blood, I know you're a virgin.'
My cheeks just flushed when the prince of snow suddenly entered my mind again.
'Where the hell are you? I thought you can't listen? Come back here.'
'I can't. How many times have you said that you wanted to break the mirror? Why are you so cruel to me? I've been waiting for you to come out of that mirror. That's the only thing that can bring you into this world, but you keep saying that you wanted it broken. What the hell is that, Saera?'
