Bella's POV during the ceremony....
Descending gracefully down the stairs, I tried to hide my true emotions with a serious boldface.
You see, all these Alphas have a tendency of causing heartache to weak little skittish wolfs like me, but I had enough of these selfish sentiments towards me…so now was the time to take action and show Alpha Jacob, that I too could be as serious, cold-hearted as he was to me. I heaved a sigh while my knees trembled with fear of the uncertain future.
Oh, moon goddess, please let this go as smoothly as possible. I got to Jacob and my foot gave in on the last step as I instantly tripped over almost falling, but yet again, Alpha Jacob, my knight in shining armour caught me bridal style…like as if I needed saving from this sexy cheating cheater. I rolled my eyes without him catching my gaze.
"Hey, I take it you have forgiven me," he said with a smouldering face.
"In your dreams, I'm only going because I can't go back to a life of misery, hence I choose to be Luna of the midnight pack." I quickly straightened my posture out of his arms.
If he thinks he will get away this easily after kissing that stupid snobbish Samantha, then he has another thing coming to him. I scoffed internally.
A cheating partner is worse than death itself because depression literally sucks your soul until you are left empty like a zombie.
Suddenly, Alpha Jacob, let out a small smile on his face, as if he enjoyed teasing me.
"Oh, clear that smile on your face," I said with my chin held high and shoulders backward. "Let's get this over with." I straightened my dress while biting my tongue with frustration.
All this blood bond initiation ceremony was a waste of time…if he wanted, he could have just marked me the first day we arrived and skipped all this...but no, he had to wait and destroy the little spark we shared by kissing that Samantha... now I was conflicted on how to felt about him.
"As you wish my lady." He answered back with a naughty smirk then put out his hand for me.
This man is enjoying this uh? I frowned with a raised brow.
Bella, you look sizzling hot, use what the goddess gave you to show him what a lady's body can achieve since he is trying to be naughty.
"And that?" I asked sarcastically, even though I knew that I needed to hold his arm as we walk out to the garden together…it's simply common knowledge for the Alpha and new Luna to walk hand in hand for her initiation ceremony. Though what followed next is what I had no idea about because each pack's initiation ceremony differed when it came to the blood bond initiation ceremony.
Take for instance, the moonstone pack where I hailed from had its Alpha, cut his hand and then cut Luna's hand, handshake one another, mixing each other's blood cementing their bond. That is if Luna is from another pack... But all the above was unnecessary if they both hailed from the same pack.
He stepped closer to me, invading my personal space, and stared at me with a solemn face. "I know you hate me…but I'm kindly asking if we both walked together hand in hand to show unity amongst the two of us."
I sighed softly and put my guard down after catching a glimpse of his solemn face. "Fine, is there anything else I need to know before I walk out of here?"
"No, that will be all for now." He replied with a splitting grin across his face.
This guy? I rolled my eyes.
Something smelled fishy in this tone of voice, but anyway I will play along with his game.
"Shall we? The auspicious time is fast approaching." He let out a naughty smirk and chuckled while evading my stare, Which I caught of course.
Uh? The insolence this guy showed was tremendously courageous. Anyway, he is Alpha, hence I understood his type of behaviour.
Let's see if you will be smiling after the ceremony. I sneered merrily. Because what I had planned to do next would tip him off his heels.
With great hesitancy, I slid my hand into my arm and walked confidently next to him.
We got to the garden and stopped by the door to the mansion.
The enchanting garden was wide and open, sloping gently down to a cosmic-sparkling river decorated with a million fairy lights, all glowing, revealing a lot of people wining and dining. A copse of cypress pines flanked us on one side, with a thicket of peaceful beeches standing guard on the other. Apple trees run through the center of the garden, casting a lake of claw shadows onto the grass. In autumn, the fiery brilliance of their leaves is a sight: scorching oranges, burning browns, and molten reds. Then they drifted to the ground silently and carelessly as an ash cloud, settling into their eternal rest.
Past the river there is a plush- dark green meadow that stretched away into the vastness and a dragon-backed mountain…and that sent shivers down my spine, wondering how anything could survive up there. The fog that coiled around it seemed as old and unearthly and grey as the mountain itself, any alien presence could dampen the mood. The Carpathian Mountains, are the ancient name for the land of perpetual mist. When spring finally comes, arcipluvian (multi-coloured) rainbows drench the mountain with colored fire and the light leaks into the garden.
My thoughts and I were totally mesmerized by the unique beauty of the garden.
Wow…
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, the auspicious hour is fast approaching so can you please help me welcome the Alpha and his Luna." Gamma Nick announced to everyone in the garden to turn their attention toward us.
My body quivered tremendously out of the trance as Gamma Nick's words brought me back to reality
I glanced around with my heart racing wildly in fear to all beaming proud eyes watching us with loud applauses.
The ceremony was definitely bigger and better than ours back home in the moonstone pack.
Everyone came dressed in their very best I presumed, while tiny beads of sweat formed on my forehead.
This group of high-class socialites was very intimidating to a small wolf like me…I sighed softly while tightening my grip on Jacob's hand because of nervousness.
Jacob turned to me with a soft reassuring gaze. "I'm here Bella." And I smiled back, knowing he was standing next to me at all times.
I sighed softly with a million thoughts running through my mind…like was all this necessary?
"Alpha, it's time" Nick whispered to Alpha Jacob, and the bright spotlight beamed on us.
Without thinking twice about it, my instincts told me to put up my hand quickly and shield my eyes from the bright light.
"What is going on?" I instantly felt sick to my stomach with worry… this was all new to me and I had no idea of their customs when it came to their blood bonding initiation ceremony. My heart raced while my eyes filled up with tears.
"Do you trust me?" He asked quickly.
"Yes, no, maybe." I did not know what to say to him at that moment as I could not focus on anything.
"I'm going to kiss you now and bite your tongue to mix our blood together." Jacob paused midway while trying to explain to me what was to happen. He glanced at Nick who was frantically pointing to his watch.
Bite my what? My eyes widened with worry.
He bobbed his head after catching a glimpse of the huge clock mounted on the wall…
What is going on??? And what did he mean by saying that he is going to kiss me to mix our blood???
Because I did not understand the part he said he was to bite my tongue… I was a clueless bitch about to kiss her Alpha mate in a very strange bizarre way.
This seemed more like a wedding ceremony than a blood bond initiation ceremony. My palms began sweating profusely.
Alpha Jacob glanced at me with a serious bold face momentarily, and suddenly leaned in, pressed his lips on mine, sliding his metallic-tasted tongue and fangs into my mouth…and then slightly nibbled on my tongue and sucked my blood into his mouth.
What an odd way to initiate the Luna into a pack, but I enjoyed each and every moment spent kissing him as it sent happy butterflies into my stomach. I sighed merrily, surrendering my all to him whilst the whole world faded away.
My wolf and I moaned, with the same intensity of pleasure the kiss gave me because finally, I had my very own Alpha all to myself.
Just as I was enjoying the kiss, Alpha Jacob broke off the kiss and howled out loud with the rest of the pack members joining in…
Okay??? I guess every pack is different from the other…I exhaled silently releasing my worrisome thoughts.
Unexpectedly, out of the blue, an older-looking woman in the crowd of people disrupted the ceremony.
"I object to this union." Her voice projected out loud causing everyone to stop howling and turned their attention to where the voice projection came from…
Who is this old woman??? I darted at the strange woman with a frown as my heart skipped a beat.
