Chapter 20 Sienna's POV
I watched Ronan at the door throw a punch at Kael.
That fuck face. What was he doing here?
“Why is he here?” he asked me, and I shrugged.
He got even more pissed and turned to Kael to punch him again, but this time Kael caught the punch.
They began fighting, and as they fought, they broke stuff in my house.
“Everybody stop,” I spoke, but they just kept fighting.
I watched them break my TV, and I finally snapped.
“Get out,” I shouted at everyone, and Kael froze, letting a punch land on him.
Ronan stopped after that punch and straightened himself.
“First of all, look around. You’ve destroyed my house. I expect you to fix it. I don’t give a fuck how, but you fix it. You, Ronan,” I pointed at Ronan.
He was the one that started it and punched Kael even though Kael didn’t do anything to him, so he was the one who was going to have to pay.
“Do you realize what he is?” Ronan asked, pointing to Kael.
“Yeah… my friend? Roommate?” I said, and he froze.
“Roommate?” he asked. He looked so angry it almost made me laugh.
To see that composed asshole finally crack was beautiful.
“Yeah, and…?” I asked with a very nonchalant shrug I knew would tick him off even more.
“I’m doing all I can to protect you, and you decide to be roommates with that?” he pointed to Kael, and I shrugged.
“Yeah? What’s wrong? He’s also doing what he can to protect me.”
“What do you mean?” he asked, his brow furrowed.
“I got attacked last night by some rogues and would have been dead if he hadn’t saved me. So…” I said, and he froze.
“When?”
“Huh?” I asked, and he took a deep breath like he was trying to calm himself down.
“When were you attacked?” he repeated, staring at Lucien, who was standing at the door, and I realized why he was asking.
“I was going home from the bar,” I said, and he raised a brow at Lucien.
“You know what to do,” he gave Lucien a look, and Lucien nodded.
“You left her and went home. Even though you knew she was drunk. You both drank together and you know humans have a weak alcohol tolerance. She could have died, and you decided that just because you were slightly tipsy?” he asked Lucien, and Lucien shook his head.
“She wasn’t drunk, Alpha. She was sober,” he explained, but Ronan looked too pissed to listen.
He walked up to Lucien and grabbed him by the neck, pinning him to the door.
“So tell me how you were tipsy. If she was sober, shouldn’t you be sober too? According to you?” he asked as he kept choking him.
I turned to Kael to ask him to help, but he was just watching with his hands folded, a look of satisfaction on his face.
Why? You know what, I’ll think about that later.
It was my fault. I kept feeding Lucien alcohol so I could get information out of him, and that was why he was in this situation.
I couldn’t watch him go through this. It was my fault.
“I was really sober, Ronan. He isn’t lying. I don’t get drunk. I’ve never been someone to get drunk. Alcohol has no effects on me,” I said, and he ignored me.
“I didn’t tell him, so it’s my fault. I let him drink without telling him,” I pleaded, but Ronan didn’t let go.
“He should have been wise enough to know he was supposed to protect you, so he shouldn’t have drunk as much as you.”
He was going to kill him. I had to say something or he'd die and it would my fault.
“I gave him more drinks on purpose. I was trying to get him drunk so I could get information out of him. It’s my fault. I manipulated him,” I confessed finally.
“That is still not an excuse,” Ronan muttered, but his grip loosened.
Kael finally moved and walked to Ronan.
“I think killing someone in front of her is not the best way to get her to join your pack, if that’s what you want,” he whispered to Ronan, and he finally let go of Lucien, who fell to the floor gasping.
“You will find a way to fix this. You have put her life at risk, and you know you have to pay, so I won’t tell you what to do,” Ronan looked down at Lucien, and Lucien nodded, standing up and scrambling to the side.
“You’re a monster,” I looked at Ronan with fear and disgust.
“Thank you. You’re finally realizing something I’ve been trying to get you to figure out,” he smiled dryly.
“So will you now listen and join my pack, or will you continue to act stubborn and stupid?” he asked, and I got even more pissed.
“What will you do if I don’t join your cult? Kill me? Choke me like you did Lucien? Come on, tell me,” I pressed him, and he just looked at me with a very cruel smile on his face.
“Why would I kill you when I can just chain you up and keep you in a cage?” he asked, and I felt fear.
“I’ll never go with you. I’d rather die than go with you,” I said, and he just looked at me with a blank stare.
“You will die sooner than later. He can’t protect you when the council comes for you. He knows this. I know this. You are safer with me, but I think you need to realize that for yourself. Let’s see how long you can last without my protection. Maybe you’ll come begging,” he said, and I felt so much disgust and hate for him.
“Get out.” I cursed at him, and he just smirked.
“Your lone wolf. What makes you think he doesn’t have any ulterior motives?” he asked me.
“Get out.”
“Just because you have ulterior motives doesn’t mean everyone else does,” he was projecting hard, and he knew that.
“I have ulterior motives, sure, but at least mine aren’t hidden. I want to protect the Lunar Key and my pack. I will not let my family die because you’re too stubborn to act rationally,” he said and then walked to Kael.
“Your name?” he asked, looking Kael in the eyes.
“You don’t have to tell him. You don’t have to,” I retorted, but Kael just shook his head.
“I’m Kael,” he spoke back, not taking a step back or backing down.
“Hmm,” Ronan sighed and then walked to the door.
“I’ll be waiting for your call or visit,” he turned to me.
He then grabbed Lucien by the collar and opened
the door.
He pulled him by the shirt, dragging him on the floor to the elevator.
