Attacked
Ralph immediately went to the kitchen when he sensed something different. He thought that it was Lily but he saw the two werewolves jump in an open window. They were able to get inside but he were able to stop their plan to attack. He made sure that the werewolves will not be able to come closer to Arabelle and Lily. Both werewolves try to get back on their feet since Ralph was able to hit them both. They didn't even see him inside the kitchen but he's suddenly there. He's too fast even for werewolves.
“Do we continue to fight or you two just go home?” Ralph asked the young werewolves.
Justin wants to run away but looks at Clyde who seems like he's ready to fight. He can't let him see how scared he is right now. Why would he take on Clyde's challenge? Now they are both in deep trouble. He can see how sharp those vampire claws and fangs are. The vampire looks ready to kill them both. Arabelle is in front of him now but he can't take his eyes off the vampire. He's afraid that he will use all of them if they made a wrong move.
Clyde suddenly attacks the vampire but gets thrown right away. Justin doesn't have a choice but to try attacking as well. He ends up on the floor almost immediately in pain. Ralph waited for their attacks again but it seems like the first werewolf can't even get up anymore. The other one looks familiar and he remembers he went here before. As much as he wants to just get it over with, he gave them a chance since they're just puppies.
“Come on, I have things to do! Are we still going to fight?” Ralph asks and acts as if he's going to attack them again.
“No, no, no! Please, we're leaving!” Justin decided he can't take it anymore and dragged Clyde as he left.
Lily can't help but give Ralph a slow clap. She's very impressed how he handled the two werewolves. Although he can easily just kill them, he just lets them go. It's not easy to let go of an enemy. She knows the feeling because she never lets go of anyone. To her disappointment, Ralph immediately checks on Arabelle. He seems concerned that it scared the little witch. She tries to control her jealousy. After all, when she gets her essence, he will be so into her. Just let them have fun for now. Her time will come and then she will enjoy it.
Arabelle is a bit shaken from what happened but not because of the attack. She got scared because she never thought that werewolves were real. The black one looked familiar to her and then realized she had seen him before. That's the same one who's stalking her and her family! Thankfully, Ralph seems to scare them. She's sure that they will never come back after that. When she checks on Lily, she catches her giving her a disgusted look but then changes to a smiling face. She realized that Ralph's arm is still wrapped on her shoulders since he's consoling her.
“Okay, I think I had enough adventure for tonight. I have to go home now.” Lily started.
“Wait, are you sure? What if there are still werewolves outside?” Arabelle feels concerned.
“After what Ralph did to those two, I don't think so. I'll just go back tomorrow. Bye!” Lily said and left.
Ralph and Arabelle exchanged looks and then watched her leaves the castle doors. They didn't say anything to each other for a few minutes. Witches have sharp hearing and they don’t want to be heard. She takes the glasses they used to the sink instead and started washing them. Luckily, nothing seems to be broken in the kitchen even after the fight. She can't help but to admire what Ralph did. Even if it's the werewolves' fault for trespassing, he still lets them go. They could have called the police on them.
She then realized that those are werewolves. Maybe the police will tell them to call animal control instead. She can't call the police on these creatures. It will look like she's a crazy woman. When she's done washing the glasses, she checks on Ralph. He's now in the living room with the books again. As if he's trying to look for something. She takes her seat beside him and peeks on the book he's reading now. It's about shapeshifters and witchcraft. He seems too invested in what he's reading.
“Wow, it's possible for witches to shapeshift.” Ralph said after reading the page.
“Why are you reading that all of a sudden?” she asked.
“I'm not sure yet but maybe Lily can do it.” He shared his thoughts.
“Maybe just with her expressions. I saw her looking at me sharply earlier and then smiled.” she told him.
“What if she's not what she seems?” he asked in a concerned tone.
“Well, we still need her if we want to go to the island. Plus, she's really good with witchcraft.” She reminded him about her qualities.
“You're right. Let’s just be really careful around her. We can't risk not being able to return.” he agrees with her.
Arabelle nodded because she agreed with what Ralph said. They have only met Lily recently. It's not fair to judge her but they also need to be careful. She will try not to let anything go wrong with their plan. They must successfully find the things they need for the spell. It's her responsibility to break the curse. She's deep with her thoughts when she heard a loud howling outside.
