Chapter 4 Haunting by the past

"Good Morning!" Louise greeted me when I entered the kitchen to drink water.

"There is nothing good in my morning if your face is the first thing I see." I joke at her

"I hope you don't get accepted for the job you applied for!" she shouted jokingly

"Nice joke ten over ten. The construction of the joke is good. You use figurative words to make your joke impactful. The delivery and timing are on point. It is easy to catch and, above all, it is relatable. In short, this is the perfect joke, I laughed three times. ha ha ha wews!"

We both looked at each other and laughed at what I said.

In the middle of our laughter, she suddenly remembered something. "Today is your birth month, right?"

I looked at her and nodded in response.

"What are your plans? Are you going to continue your studies?"

I scratched my head at her question. "I can't study if I don't have money."

She frowned at what I said. "Huh? I'm here, Marie. I have a stable job right now, so I can help you first."

I was shaken by what she said. "I am older than you, but why am I the useless one."

She raised her eyebrows at what I said. "It's not too late, Marie. It's not about the age, it's up to you. They say if you want, there's a way, if you don't, there's a reason."

I nodded at what she said. "Very well said."

She stood up from sitting and said goodbye. "I'm leaving first. It's Monday... back to work tomorrow."

I also went along with her standing up. "Alright, be careful. Just call me when your boss does something bad to you." I told her before turning around to get my laptop.

"Don't worry, Marie! My legs are open for him!" she shouted before walking out the door

Louise is simping to her boss

I just laughed at my thoughts.

When I got my laptop, I immediately went to my Gmail account.

I winced at what I saw.

No message, not even one, tsk.

I decided to turn off my laptop again and decided to buy something at the market.

"I don't have any money, so why should I go to the market?"

I scratched my head when my phone suddenly rang.

one message from Louise

(The money for buying groceries at home is on your table in your room. You have an allowance there too, my daughter.)

I just smiled at what she said.

(Okay, thanks for this. I owe you a lot.)

I replied to her message.

I entered my room and fixed myself. I looked in the mirror and criticized my appearance.

"I'm getting old."

I touched my face.

I miss you, Mom and Dad...

while I was walking to the supermarket. A man suddenly appeared in front of me.

I could smell his strong perfume. And I can see his broad back.

"Excuse me?" I said softly because he was blocking my path.

He didn't hear what I said.

"I said excuse me." I said louder. And other people looked at us.

"Uno!" I heard a baritone voice on the phone in his ear.

So maybe he didn't hear me because someone was talking to him.

"Feeling unemployed again! I'm taking your job, man. Damn you!" I heard a complaint from the person he was talking to on the phone.

"Shut the f*cked up. I'm coming," he said in a baritone voice.

"Whoah!" I just gasped at what I heard.

I was about to step forward to look at his appearance when an expensive car suddenly parked in front of me and the man with the baritone voice got into it.

"Rich man." I gulped while looking at the car leaving.

Upon reaching the supermarket, I immediately got a trolley and started looking for things to buy.

I felt dizzy when I saw its prices. It's even higher than Louise's eyebrows when she doesn't like what I'm saying.

After I finished shopping, I went straight home. I put everything I bought on the table and arranged them one by one. Then I decided to take a shower again.

After I ate, I immediately opened my laptop and checked my mailbox.

No message

"Maybe they won't reply today because it's Sunday."

So I just decided to open my Facebook.

As I was scrolling, there was a post that caught my attention.

Dirty Diamonds Organization

That's the headline

I clicked on the article and read it.

According to the article I read, this organization kills people of great wealth. The police don't catch them because they don't have enough evidence. But people's speculation is that this organization is responsible for the acute deaths of many people.

I liked reading about this issue even more, so I immediately went to Google and searched for information about them.

Dirty Diamonds Organization. They come from the worst hell holes in the world.

They kill mercilessly. They end the lives of high-ranking people who are a hindrance to their organization.

stated on a site that contains information about this organization.

It is true that this organization existed.

What is their goal in life and why do they kill people?

"I hate them." I said suddenly.

I hate people who kill.

It's hard to live, but it's even harder to lose a loved one.

What about the families of the people they killed?

I was annoyed by that thought, so I just turned off my laptop and decided to just go to sleep.

"Mommy!"

I saw my mother lying on the floor. bloody and unconscious.

I looked where the gunshot came from. I could see their faces, but it was blurry.

They killed my mom.

Even though I was afraid, I forced myself to stand up.

"Ma'am! don't come near your mother." said our maid.

I ran in my mom's direction but an arm stopped me. "Please, Marie... Ma'am, listen to me. We have to leave here and report to the po-"

I froze where I was standing when a bullet suddenly exploded next to me.

I felt blood dripping down my legs.

I turned my gaze to my back and I saw our maid slowly loosening her embrace from me.

I saw tears in her eyes. At the same time, the blood was flowing from her head.

She was shot!

I held our maid and looked her in the eyes. I touched her face while trembling.

"Nanny..."

"Shhh... my daughter-" She didn't finish what she was going to say when she lost her last breath.

And only then did I realize that it looked like Louise.

I heard footsteps coming in our direction.

"No!" I am begging for my life from them. "Don't kill me p-please. Let's take them to the hospital!" I shouted at them.

The only answer I heard from them was laughter.

A woman drew her gun and pointed it at me.

"Get lost!" she shouted at me before I lost consciousness.

"Mommy!" My chest was tight when I screamed to wake up.

It was a bad dream.

I wiped my tears and hugged my pillow.

"I killed Louise's mother." I said, and sleepiness came again.

I woke up when I felt the heat hitting my skin.

It's morning

I got up and went to the kitchen to drink water.

While I was drinking water, I held my head when it stung. I remembered my dream last night.

All of that is true.

I don't know how to tell Louise the truth.

I'm the one to blame for why her mom died.

I swallowed hard at my thoughts. I don't know what will happen to me when I leave her place.

I sighed.

Why do I keep dreaming about my past?

My mom survived that incident. But I wonder what happened after I passed out that day.

I was confused, so I went to the couch and laid there. I was about to turn on the television when my phone suddenly rang.

( Marie, my boss, looks yummy! I hope you see him soon, hehehe. )

I smiled when I read her message.

"I wish your boss would be your husband." I snort into my phone

When I turned on the television, I was immediately struck by the news that a famous businessman had been found dead inside his office. The vault containing all the money of their company was taken. According to the police, the investigation is still ongoing. The police have a lead, but they don't want to reveal it to the public.

I scratched my head as an idea entered my mind as to who did this.

"Dirty Diamonds, huh"

After watching, I decided to leave the house and went to a bakery shop.

Not far away, I saw a man sitting on the side of the road.

The man looks rich.

When I got closer, I saw him bowing down. He had no slippers and was wearing ragged clothes.

I took out my wallet and grabbed some money to give to him.

I coughed to get his attention. He looked at me. I stared at the beauty of his eyes. His eyes are chocolate-colored. Pointy nose and red lips-

"Excuse me, Ma'am?" My chest heaved when he spoke and looked into my eyes.

"A-ah! Here, take it." I handed him some money.

He smiled at me "You're so kind, thank you." he answered and took the money from my hand.

I bit my lip when he stood up, and I saw the intensity of his body.

So tall

"Are you like this to all the people you see who look like me?" he asked.

I just nodded in response.

"I'm not a beggar. We just drank there last night." pointing to an expensive bar.

I swallowed what he said.

So he's not a beggar? Why does he look like that?

"Don't judge the book by its cover." I was annoyed by what he said, so I looked directly at him.

He smirked "Thank you for this!" He showed me the money before leaving in front of me.

And I was just surprised when he rode a Neiman Marcus motorcycle.

"What the f***!" I screamed in shock.

He heard this and faced me. "Do you see what I'm riding? Its price is more expensive than your life." He laughed and drove the motorcycle away.

"Jerk!" I shouted at him even though I knew he didn't hear it.
