Chapter 5 Delivery box

I was so annoyed that I forgot to buy bread. So all I did was look for a quiet place.

I found a park just near our apartment.

I took off my slippers and put them on the grass and sat there. I looked up at the sky.

"The clouds are beautiful. My day would have been great if I hadn't seen that man!"

I clenched my fist in annoyance as I remembered this. But I immediately fell down when I remembered my dream.

All of that is true.

The tragedy that happened to my family is still fresh in my mind. I don't know how to say this to Louise. I want to punch myself whenever I remember my promise to her that I would give justice to her mother.

I took a deep breath as I remembered my father. If he was here today, I know he would hug me and tell me with his words that I can do everything, that God never gives a problem that I can't solve.

I cried at my thoughts.

I always imagine our situation if Dad had not gotten sick. He has been suffering from that disease for a long time. We only found out that his lung cancer was severe when he suddenly had trouble breathing while we were eating. So he was temporarily confined to the hospital. But one day, I was surprised when the doctor called us.

That was the day he left me.

Everything’s changed.

It’s true that there’s no permanent happiness in this world.

I sighed, “People live to survive, but I lived to suffer. Tsk!”

I stood up from sitting and chose to walk around.

As I was walking, I noticed that someone was following me. I looked at my surroundings carefully. But I didn't see anything unusual, so I just continued walking.

When I came to a big mango tree, I looked behind me when I smelled a familiar scent, but when I turned around, no one was there.

I just scratched my head.

"Maybe I'm just tired."

I looked for a ride home. When I was about to speak to call a taxi.

"Man, are you crazy? What's different about her? She's just an ordinary girl." Suddenly, a man passed in front of me and got into a Lamborghini Miura.

I stared at the back of it. His voice is familiar, but I can't remember it.

When he got into his car. He rolled down his window, took off his sunglasses, and looked at me from head to toe.

I raised my eyebrows. "What?" I said softly.

He just grinned and told his driver to start it.

I let out a deep breath. I'm annoyed because I saw three useless men today.

I came home at 6:30 p. m. I cleaned my room and prepared what I would eat tonight. And then I took a shower and sat in the living room. I took my laptop. I immediately opened my Gmail inbox to check if I was hired by that company.

I just laughed at what I saw.

No message

Tired

I stretched my body and craned my neck.

"Inhale, exhale. Don't give up. Just fight, fighting!” I said to myself.

I even watched videos on youtube about what the work of a secretary in a company is like, and then I went to my room to rest.

Seven hours later...

I woke up when I heard a knock on our door. I got up lazily and opened it.

"Hello, Ma'am! Someone has ordered this to give it to you."

I frowned when I saw the box he was holding. "What is this? Why are you still delivering at this time? Really at twelve o'clock in the morning? "I said jokingly, but it got to him.

"Sorry, Ma'am! It was already scheduled for last week. Because I was paid a lot so I just grabbed the opportunity.." he said shyly.

I swallowed as I didn't think what I said was good. I gave him a big smile. "I'm sorry, Sir. I just woke up. You woke me up." "Is it paid?" I asked.

"Yes ma'am. Thank you! I'm leaving." he said before leaving.

When I got inside, I put the box on the table and stared at it.

"Who will give it to me? I only know Louise."

I opened the box and was surprised by its contents.

There is a small chocolate cake and imported chocolates on the side.

and a picture of me when I was young.

I took the picture and looked at it in wonder.

I'm standing with my back to this picture with my hair tied up high while I'm holding a flower. I turned the picture over and saw a letter on it.

Three dots???

Curiosity struck me. I put the picture back in the box and sat on the couch.

"Thank you, whoever you are." I said while looking at the box on the table.

Today is my twenty-fifth birthday.

My life is so messed up that I forgot my birthday.

My phone rang

Louise's calling you

"Hello?"

"Happy birthday, old lady!" she shouted on the other line

"Tsk! Shut up.” I snorted in annoyance.

"Oh! She's hot-headed because she's old." she teased me.

“Thank you! Someone sent here a cake with a picture of me when I was a child. I don't know who it was."

“OMG! Didn't your father send that? "she said hysterically.

"Louise, are you okay?"

"Huh?"

"Are you okay? Dad is dead. How can he deliver like this?" I snort at her.

"You know, maybe he persuaded God. God is powerful, right? He can do everything.” she explained.

"You're crazy, Louise." I laughed.

"But I'm serious. Or maybe from your mom."

"Maybe? But I noticed that there are three dots on the back of my picture. But to think of it, if it was mom, I would not be here now. Also, it is said that the delivery boy talked to the person who made the order last week.”

"Why didn't you ask the delivery boy who it was from?" she snorted at me.

I chuckle "I forgot." and scratched my head.

"You're a fool. Hahahaha! Bye for now, I'm sleepy, I just waited for twelve to greet you. Let's continue our chit-chat when I get home, let's celebrate your birthday." she said before hanging up.

After we talked, I went to the table. Take a plate and taste the small cake in that box. After I ate it, I hid it in the fridge and took the photo before entering my room.

"One, two, three..." counting the dots in the photo.

I closed my eyes while holding it and soon fell asleep.
