Chapter 50 - Blessed with Two Mates

Broken.

That’s what I see when I look at my beautiful mate in my arms as I was forced to put her to sleep. It’s how I also feel. I picked her up and placed her on the bed I was on. I saw Kesha walking to the side of her son’s bed. Her eyes are red and her fangs are out.

“I can’t let my baby die” she says, then sinks her fangs into his neck before pulling back and giving him some of her blood.

“What did you do?” I asked.

“I made sure his vampire side woke up. I was talking to the vampire king and he told me, since Benny has vampire blood in him, that if he dies, I could wake up his vampire side. This could make him a vampire of a powerful hybrid”, Kesha said. Suddenly, the monitors started beeping again. My eyes widened as I saw the heartbeat.

“You might want to have a bag of blood or two in hand” Kesha said as doctors and nurses rushed back in.

“Also, you might want to move the queen to another room. We don’t know how he will be when he wakes up,” she added.

“Doctor Anna” I called. She had already heard Kesha.

“The room next to this one is empty. You can take our queen there” she replied. I nodded and picked up Kiera and took her to the room next to this one. She had light bags under her eyes. I could tell she hasn’t slept much. I placed her on the bed and took off her shoes before I kissed her forehead, then her belly. Once I covered her, I went back to the room. I could see the doctors checking on Benny and two bags of blood had been brought in. Grandpa Koslov was also here. Suddenly, Benny’s eyes snapped open and everyone gasped, taking a step back away from him. His eyes are glowing red and I see his fangs poking at his bottom lip.

“Benny” I called, making his eyes snap towards me.

“Xavier… mate” he growled, and I couldn’t help but smile.

“How are you feeling son?” Kesha asked. Benny took his time to look around before looking back at his mom.

“Hungry” he replied truthfully.

“As expected” she replied, grabbing a bag of blood and handing it to him. His eyes glowed even redder if possible.

“What happened to me?” Benny asked.

“You died…” I whimpered, making his head snap towards me.

“So your mom bit you and gave you some of her blood, awakening your vampire side” Grandpa Koslov said.

“Is Jack still with you?” Kesha asked. I see Benny’s eyes glaze over before he nods.

“Well, that answers our unasked question. Benny is now a hybrid”, Grandpa Koslov admitted.

“W-Where is our mate?” Benny asked. His voice was getting more animalistic by the second.

“She is in the room next. I had to put her to sleep because she was here when you flatline. We didn’t know how you would react to all of this and we didn’t want her to get hurt”, I admitted. I could see hurt in his eyes as he whimpered.

“You should feed first-” Kesha didn’t finish her sentence before Benny used his vampire speed to leave the room. I know where he was going. I went to where Kiera is and I saw Benny looking at her while gently touching her face.

“I would never hurt her. I prefer t die a million times over before hurting her”, Benny said softly.

“I know you would never hurt her, my love. We just didn’t know how your vampire would react towards her or towards me”, I said.

“He loves her. He loves you” he said. I walked closer to him and cupped his face for him to look at me. I kissed his lips. His fangs were no longer out but his eyes still glowed red. When I pulled back, I placed my forehead on his.

“Good, because we are going to be fathers” I said, gently moving Kiera’s covers to show him her belly. A tear left his eyes as his hand gently touched her belly.

“It’s true” he said before gently kissing her belly. I was a bit confused.

“What’s true?” I asked. He told me about how he saw Alison, his first mate, and she showed him what had happened. How she said she was happy for him and he admitted to me that she kissed his cheek. I thought I or my Lycan would feel jealous, but we didn’t. When he finished telling me, I covered Kiera back up and we went back to the room we were both in. When he saw the blood, his fangs poked back out.

“Feed, my love” I said, giving him a soft smile.

“Doesn’t it gross you out?” he asked, looking at the bag of blood.

“No, I don’t like it because it will change your scent, but it’s not until you learn how to control it. Then you can feed from me and Kiera after she has our pups”, I told him. I could see the sadness in his eyes. I took his hands in mine.

“Benny, I love you with all my heart and soul. I don’t care if you’re a Lycan, a vampire, a hybrid, or a human. My love for you will never change. Never forget that”, I told him, looking him in the eyes. He looked into my eyes for a couple of seconds before nodding and sinking his fangs into the blood bag. He drains it quickly then takes the other blood bag. This one he went a bit slower. When he finished, he brushed his teeth and sat back on his bed.

“Does Kiera know about her father?” Benny asked.

“I have no idea. I woke up a bit before you and she was here”, I admitted. Doctor Noah came in and checked on me and Benny before we were both let go of the hospital. Benny carried Kiera back to our room. He laid next to her while I grabbed some clothes to take a shower. I washed my hair, then washed my body. I let the warm water cascade down my back for a bit before getting out. I towel dried myself then got dressed in black jeans and a white t-shirt. When I came out of the bathroom, I smiled at the scene in front of me. Kiera was asleep in the middle of the bed and Benny was lying on his left drawing circles on her belly.

‘I love our mates and our pups’, Lux said, making me nod in agreement.

‘I do too, buddy. I do too’, I admitted. Benny looked at me and smiled. His eyes were back to his beautiful emerald green, though once in a while they would flash red. It let me know that both his Lycan and a vampire were present.

“She’s so beautiful but looks so tired” Benny said.

“I noticed that too, but don’t worry. We will take care of her and our pups”, I assured her. He nodded and got up. He grabbed some clothes to take a shower. He walked towards me and kissed me before going into the bathroom. I took his spot on the bed and heightened my senses and focused on our pups. I could hear their heartbeats.

‘Our pups are strong’, Lux said proudly.

‘Yes, they are’ I smiled. Since Benny already had vampire blood in his system from his mother’s side. I wonder if our pups will have it as well. Will they be Lycans, vampires, or hybrids? It didn’t matter as long as they were healthy and safe. Benny came out of the bathroom with a towel dangerously low and I swear he had gotten wider and a bit bulkier. I found it very hot and so did my Lycan by the growl it let out. Benny arched an eyebrow.

“Like what you see, mates?” Benny asked and his eyes flashed rapidly between red and emerald green.

“I definitely do,” I said shamelessly.

“I’m glad to hear that” Benny winked at me, making me chuckle. He went into the walk in closet and got dressed. I put on my shoes and we both gave Kiera a kiss before going downstairs. When we walked inside the dining room, I was shocked to see so many people.

“Oh, my sweet boys. I’m so glad you’re both okay”, mom said, hugging Benny and me.

“You seem to be taking the change pretty well. Not many people do” Grandpa Koslov said, patting Benny on the back.

“Not many people have the support system and love what I do” Benny replied, making grandpa chuckle. I see three Alphas stand and bow their heads in respect.

“Your highness, it’s good to have you back” Alpha Jace said, bowing his head. Next to him was Tina, one of my Omegas and she was sporting a fresh mark. I couldn’t help but smile.

“It’s good to be back. Congratulations on finding your mate” I said, making Tina blush.

“Thank you your highness. Did you find Shayna amongst the others?” I asked.

“We did your highness. Thank you” he smiled.

“I’m glad”, I smiled, then looked at the other two Alphas. Alpha Brawn from the Mystic Pack and Alpha Peter from the Stone Pack.

“Thank you all for helping us fight. I don’t know how we could ever repay you”, I said.

“You already have your highness. I got my mate back” Alpha Peter smiled lovingly at his mate.

“And I got my sister back” Alpha Brawn said.

“I’m glad to hear that. Please enjoy your meal. As for those who helped fight. I want to thank you. If you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to tell me”, I said, grateful for what they had done. Just then Jennifer and Markos walked in. When they both saw Benny and I, they hugged us.

“We heard of what happened. I’m so glad you’re okay. Both of you” Jennifer said, but I knew it was meant more to Benny. We were terrified.

“Thank you, Jennifer”, Benny smiled at her. He then looked at Markos.

“Markos, How are you feeling?” Benny asked.

“I’m good. I still cannot believe it that I’m out of that heel hole” he said just as Nana Yashira walked in. With her were the four humans. The three that were going to be used as sacrifice and the one who is able to move things with her mind. Suddenly there’s a growl.

“Mate”, one of the warriors from Alpha Brawn’s pack said while looking at Nidia. Nidia is the human that can move things with her mind. Her mouth slightly opens as she looks right at him. Nidia then looks at Nana Yashira as if asking for permission. Nana nodded with an encouraging smile. Nidia grins and walks towards the warrior. When she gets close to him, she stops waiting to see what he will do.

“Mine. My mate”, his wolf growls before giving his human back control. The warrior smiles.

“Our mate” he corrected and Nidia squealed before jumping into the warrior’s arms. The whole dining room clapped for them. The other three humans smiled.

“Congratulations to you both. Now let’s eat” I said, and gestured for everyone to continue.

“Does Kiera know you’re alive?’ Benny asked Markos.

“No, when we got back she was out, but as soon as she wakes up, I hope we can tell her” Markos said. I could see the eagerness in his eyes. We all talked, laughed, and told jokes. When we finished, I went to my office to catch up with some paperwork. Benny decided to go to check on the pack borders. I checked the budget papers and saw that they were all done. I noticed a few more paperwork done from schools to the pack clinic. I realized this was all done by Kiera. She was trying to keep everything together while Benny and I were gone. I can’t even imagine how she felt not knowing if we were ever going to come back or not.

After a few hours of doing some more pack work and checking my emails, I went up to my room. As I entered, I noticed Benny was already asleep next to Kiera. I smiled and undressed myself. I kissed both of my mates before lying down next to Kiera. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light.
