Chapter 49 - Blessed with Two Mates

I woke up to the sun shining in my face. I groaned and turned away from the window, then I remembered everything that happened before I was put to sleep. Benny being shot and Xavier was hurt badly. I quickly jumped to my feet, immediately regretting it when my stomach rolled and the room began to spin. I held on to the bed, taking deep breaths. When the room stopped spinning, I walked to the bathroom. After I did my morning routine, I turned on the shower and quickly undressed. I had a feeling that Mrs. Yashira, Mrs. Angel, or Mrs. River were the ones who changed me with some help obviously.

I washed my hair and washed my body. When I finished, I quickly turned off the shower and grabbed my towel and towel dried myself before wrapping the towel around my body. I then wrapped my hair in a towel. I walked out to the room and went into my closet. I took out a thong and a matching bra. I then grabbed a light blue lace halter maternity dress. It comes just above my knees and it has a V neck. I wore white wedges and I let my hair loose for it to dry naturally. I left my room and headed straight downstairs. I don’t go to the dining room, instead I head out the castle and towards the pack clinic. As soon as I entered, I saw Doctor Noah.

“Good morning your highness”, he bowed his head.

“Good morning Doctor Noah. How are my mates?” I asked. He looked around before looking back at me. He gestured for me to follow him and my Lycan whimpered.

“Doctor Noah, can you please tell me how my mates are doing?” I asked this time using a bit of my Luna Queen voice.

“King Xavier’s blood has been cleaned and Yashira has healed him. He should be waking up any minute”, Doctor Noah said, and I nodded.

“What about Benny?” I asked and I watched him visibly gulp.

“Royal Gamma Benny’s blood has also been cleaned. I was able to remove the silver bullet and Yashira healed him, but then with the combination of wolfsbane and the silver bullet…” he sighed, running a hand down his face.

“Spit it out, Doctor” I growled.

“Royal Gamma Benny is in a coma and we don’t know if he’s going to wake up. It’s all up to him”, Doctor Noah said, and I felt like the floor was pulled out from under me. I felt arms wrap around me. I couldn’t lose either of my mates. I looked up to see Mrs. Kesha. Her eyes were red and puffy.

“Benny is strong, have faith” she whispered in my ear. I nodded and looked at Doctor Noah. Can I see them?” I asked.

“Of course, my queen. They are both in the same room”, he replied, and gestured for me to follow him. When we arrived in the room, I swallowed the lump in my throat. I went to Benny and kissed his lips, then kissed Xavier’s lips. I ran my hands through Xavier’s hair.

“Wake up soon, my love. I have a huge surprise for you. I love you”, I said, and kissed his lips again. I then turned to Benny. He had wires on his chest with a couple of machines next to him. I ran my hand through his hair.

“Fight baby. Please fight for us. We need you”, I said, and kissed his lips again. Kesha walked into the room.

“Do you think he can hear us?” I asked, still looking at Benny.

“I’d like to think so” she replied softly.

“He needs to fight. Xavier and I need him. These pups need their father” I said. Using her vampire speed, she came to my side and pulled me into a hug. Then it hit me. She’s a vampire.

“Kesha, you’re a vampire. What if you bite him?” I asked.

“I am and I know what you’re going to ask, but we don’t know if it will do any more harm” she said. I sighed, sitting on the chair between the two beds. I understand where she’s coming from. Someone knocked on the door and Mrs. Kesha opened the door. Mr. Manny walked in with a tray of food.

“Kesha said you were here, so I assumed you haven’t had breakfast yet” Mr. Manny said.

“Both of you come and have breakfast. The King and Benny won’t like it when they wake up and see that you both haven’t eaten”, Manny said. We sighed and went to the small table. We both sat and began to eat. I realized I was hungrier than I thought I was. I finished my food then sat between the beds of my mates. I can’t fathom losing Benny. I don’t know what Xavier will do if we lose him.

‘Please Moon Goddess, help my mate’ I said, sending a silent prayer.

My eyes snapped open when I heard a groan. I looked to my right and saw Xavier opening his eyes. I got up and rushed towards him.

“Little bird” he croaked. I grabbed a bottle of water, opened it and brought it to his lips. He drank a bit, then sighed.

“My little bird” Xavier said, giving me a small smile.

“My king” I said, my eyes stinging with unshed tears.

“Baby don’t cry” he said, reaching his hand up and touching my cheek. A sob left my lips as I closed my eyes, feeling the familiar spark.

“I was so scared” I admitted.

“I know my queen, but we’re okay. We’re home now thanks to you and everyone else”, Xavier said. I leaned down and kissed his lips. When I pulled back from the kiss, I placed my forehead on his.

“Where is Benny?” Xavier asked. I took a deep breath and stood to the side letting him see Benny. As soon as he saw him, he shot up.

“Is he okay? Why hasn’t he woken up?” Xavier asked.

“He’s in a coma. We don’t… know if… if he’s going… to wake up” I said through sobs. He pulled me into a hug but quickly pulled back and looked down.

“Surprise” I whisper. He looks up at me then looks down at my belly.

“Y-You’re pregnant” he states and I nod.

“We’re having twins” I admitted.

“Benny and I are going to be dads?” he asked, and I nodded again. He hugs me and kisses my lips again before leaning down and kissing my belly. I felt Ari come forwards and whimper. Xavier looked up and when he saw my eyes he smiled.

“Hello, love. What is your name?” he asked.

“Ari”, Ari replied.

“That’s a beautiful name” Xavier said, then I saw his purple eyes glow brighter.

“Hello, my queen. I’m Lux” Lux said.

“Hello my handsome king” Ari purred. Xavier/ Lux pulled us into a hug and I felt Ari pull back. Mrs. Kesha came back.

“Oh, hello my King. I’m glad to see you’re awake” Kesha said, bowing her head.

“No need to bow, Kesha. We are family-” Xavier was interrupted by the sound of the machine going crazy. It was Benny’s machine.

“Benny?” I called, then he flatlined.

“BENNY!!!” I screamed, trying to get to him, but Xavier held me back as nurses began to rush in.

“Kesha. Do something” I pleaded. She looked torn and looked at her son. I pushed into Xavier’s hands, trying to get to Benny. I knew Xavier was trying to keep calm, but by the way he was shaking I knew he was barely hanging on. Nurses and doctors rushed in trying to do everything they could.

“Call it” Doctor Anna said.

“Time of death is three fifteen in the afternoon”, one of the nurses said. I let out a powerful roar making the whole hospital shake. I could see Doctor Anna’s mouth moving but I could hear what she was saying. I broke free from Xavier and went towards Benny. I let my canines come out and marked Benny’s wrist. The pain I was feeling was worse than the pain I felt from that witch during the fight. I let go of Benny’s wrist and let out a painful how. Suddenly, I felt someone biting my neck. Everything began to get blurry.

'Fuck' I said to myself before darkness overtook me.
