Chapter 48 - Blessed with Two Mates

For months I thought my mate, my husband, was dead. All I wanted was to find the people who took his body and give him a proper burial, but when I took that potion and passed myself as Kiera, I was shocked to see my mate was still alive. Yes, he has been beaten, tortured, and starved, but he is still my mate, my other half, and the father of my children.

Talking about my children. I thought I would be hurting when Kiera killed Helen, but I wasn’t. Why? Because I knew that she was no longer the daughter I gave birth to and raised. She was no longer that innocent girl who saw the good in the world. This..... Helen saw the evil things but she also did horrible, evil things along with my father. When Kiera cut her head off, I thought I would cry, scream, or maybe even hurt, but I didn’t. I felt nothing because I had already come to terms with what was going to happen and it was for the best. If that makes me a horrible mother, then so be it. The memory of how I plunged my sword into my father's chest comes back. The look of stock that he gave me when I did it was one I will never forget. I just did there and watched as the life left his eyes before I grabbed my husband and came here.

When I killed my father, I felt this huge weight lift off my chest and I swear I could breathe for the first time in years.

“Where are you going?” my mate asked.

“I’m going to go check on the others and Kiera” I said.

“Let me come with you” he said. I know he wants to see Kiera.

“Okay”, I smiled and he got up from the couch. I brought him back here as soon as I knew the war was over. It’s not a bad idea that he goes with me. Maybe I can have a doctor to check him out. We get in Kiera’s truck and I start making my way to the Lycan Kingdom.

“How are you feeling after all of this?” he asked. It hasn’t been long since the battle. An hour, maybe an hour and a half, tops.

“Dirty” I said, making him chuckle.

“You know what I mean” he said. Yes, I knew what he meant.

“I feel fine” I admitted.

“Helen was not our Helen anymore so when she was killed, I didn’t feel nothing. As for dad? When I killed him I felt like I could finally breath” I admitted.

“I understand” he said taking my hand in his. Every time we touched each other there’s this buzz in my body. It’s not an annoying buzz but a comforting one. We arrive at the gates of the kingdom. The guard sees me and lets me pass. I drive about a mile and stop in front of the castle. I see Kane come out still covered in blood. When he sees me he walks towards me and hugs me.

“We were worried about you, Mrs. Jennifer” Kane says pulling back and my mate growls.

“Stop it Markos. This is the young dragon I told you about with the GPS” I said then look at Kane.

“Did you find her?” I asked referring to his mate.

“I did. She’s a bit weak and malnourished but Doctor Anna said she will be okay. I can’t thank you enough for what you did Mrs. Jennifer. Thank you so much” he says.

“You don’t need to thank me Kane. We all did this together. I’m just glad you were able to find your mate” I smiled then Kane looks at Markos.

“Kane, I want to introduce you to Kiera’s father and my mate, Markos. Markos, this is Kane, a dear friend of the pack” I introduced. Kane’s eyes widen before extending his hand to shake Marko’s hand.

“I- I thought he was dead” Kane stammers.

“We all did. Some how he was brought back to life” I said and he nodded.

“Were is the King, Royal Gamma Benny, and my daughter?” I asked. Suddenly the mood turned somber.

“What happened?” I asked feeling the panic start to grip me.

“After you left, Kiera was fighting two bear shifters. She killed one but the other pulled out a gun. He shot at her but Benny took the bullet for her. When the bear shifter aimed again Xavier took on the bear shifter…”

“Jesus, he was in no shape to take on a bear shifter in his condition” Markos said.

“Benny and Xavier and in the hospital. They are getting their blood cleaned out so Mrs. Yashira can heal them, but Benny… Benny is in a coma. Even if he’s healed, they don’t know when or if he’ll wake up” Kane said making me gasp.

“Kiera? Where is Kiera?” I asked.

“Mrs. Yashira had to put her to sleep. She was under so much stress and hysterics that it could have hurt the babies” Kane said.

“What? Babies? She was fighting while pregnant?” I bombarded him with questions.

“Yes, she’s pregnant. Mrs. Yashira made some special potions to protect the babies while she trained and fought. She’s in her chambers if you’ll like to go see her” Kane said.

“Thank you, son. I’ll see you later” I said and rushed inside the castle before he could say anything. I see Mr. Koslov and he gives me a small smile. He’s one of the people who knows that Markos was alive.

“Mr. Koslov, is there someone that could get me some clothes for my mate?” I asked him.

“I’ll see what I can do” he said and went off. I rushed to Kiera’s room. I softly knocked before opening the door. There was no one in her room. She had a bandage on her upper left arm. She was in a light blue night gown and her hair was braided to the side. As I got closer I could see the small bump on her belly. I gently placed my hand on her belly and a small sob left my lips.

“She and the babies could have been hurt” I said softly.

“But they weren’t my dove. From what Xavier, Benny, and you have told me there are powerful people here. They made sure she or the babies were not hurt” Markos said and placed a kiss on Kiera’s forehead.

“We’re going to be grandparents dove. Can you believe it?” Markos asked gently placing his hand on mine.

“It’s a blessing. Come on, let’s let her rest. I want to shower and get this blood off of me” I said.

“Sounds good to me” he winked at me. I took him to my room where I found some clothes for him. I’m going to take care of my husband first, then I will go check on Xavier and Benny.

I slowly open my eyes and look straight at the blue sky. There were a few white clouds which made it look perfect. I sat up and looked around. I was in a meadow under a willow tree. Not far from me was what looked to be a pond. There are different, beautiful color flowers. There are tall tree not far from the pond.

“Hello Benny” I heard a soft unfamiliar voice. I turned around, startled. My mouth dropped open when I saw who was in front of me.

“A-Alison?” I questioned and she nodded with a soft smile. Alison is my first mate., the one who was killed by a drunk driver.

“B-but you’re dead” I said and she nodded again.

“Am I…” I trailed off.

“Yes and no” Alison said making me look at her.

“You were injected with a large amount of wolfsbane. Your Lycan is fighting to stay alive. If all depends on your Lycan if you survive or…” she was the one to trail off this time. I couldn’t remember much of what happened.

“I- I don’t remember much of what happened” I admitted. Alison just smiled softly and extended her hand to me. I looked at it then looked at her and took her hand. She guided me to the pond and crouched down.

“Usually the Moon Goddess would do this, but she gave me the chance to be the once to do it” Alison said and with her index finger touched the still water. The water rippled and I could see my mate, Kiera staring at a man with a gun. I see myself pushing off of Xavier and running towards Kiera and jumped in front of her as the gun went off. Alison touches the water again and I hear Kiera scream.

“NOOO!” Kiera screamed crawling towards me. She stand over me protectively and let out a loud roar as the bear aims his gun at her again. Then I see large ball of black fur. Xavier.

“XAVIER!” Kiera screamed then turns to me and grabs my face.

“Stay with me, please. Don’t leave us” she said and gives me a quick kiss. She places her hands on my wound to try and stop the bleeding.

“I NEED A MEDIC NOW!” she screams hysterically. I see my parents run to her side and mom screams bringing her hands to her mouth.

“He just jumped in front of the bullet. Please, we need to help him! He saved me. He saved us!” Kiera said keeping her hands on my wounds. Why does she keep saying us? Then I remembered she had shifted into her Lycan. I bet her Lycan is beautiful just like her.

“Benny” she called.

“Benny, baby, I need you to stay with me. I need you to stay with me because you’re going to be a dad” she said moving one of her hands to grab one of mine and place it on her belly. Kiera is pregnant. Xavier and I are going to be fathers. I can’t… I can’t die yet. I want to see our pups. I want to see them born. I want to be there when they say their first words, when they crawl, take their first step. I want to be there on their first day of school. I want to be there during their first shift.

“I’m going to be a father” I whispered and Alison smiled widely.

“Oh, I’m sorry Alison-”

“Don’t be. Everything happens for a reason and I’m glad that you found not one but two people that love you just as much as you love them. I’m glad that you’re happy Benny. You deserve to be happy. Your Lycan is fighting tooth and nail or should I say claw?” she asked the shook her head.

“Anyways your Lycan is fighting and I need you to fight as well. You have a beautiful family and pack. You need to fight for them” she said placing her hand on my cheek. She leaned closer and kissed my cheek.

“I never got the chance to meet you, but from what I have seen… you’re a wonderful man, Benny. I am blessed to have met you today and I wish you the best” she smiled and began to fade in front of my eyes. I felt someone behind me and I turned around to see a beautiful woman with platinum hair and light gray eyes. She wore a long light purple dress that reach the floor. Beside her was a light gray Lycan. I knew who she is. The Moon Goddess and Jack.

“Moon Goddess” I bowed my head in respect.

“Hello Benny” the moon goddess said.

“Hello Jack” I smiled scratching behind his ear.

“How are you my child?” the moon goddess asked.

“To be honest… my emotions are all over. I’m happy that my beautiful mate is pregnant with our pups, but I’m sad that because I might not make it” I admitted and Jack whimpered.

“I understand, but as you know your Lycan is fighting to keep you or both of you alive” the moon goddess said and I nodded. Jack looked at me and I ran my hand through his fur.

“What do you mean by me or both of us?” I asked. The moon goddess smiled sadly at us.

“There could be a chance that you could lose your Lycan” she admitted. I looked at Jack. I don’t know what I would do without him. He has been with me through so much.

“You’re not going to be alone in this, my friend. I’m going to help you fight and we are going to be there for our pups and our mates” I said and he purred making the moon goddess giggle.

“I’m very happy for you Benny. I know fate was cruel to you by taking Alison away from you, but you were able to get through the hurt. You found two mates who love you with all their heart and soul and you’re about to be a dad. You have shown me how much of a warrior you are. I’m proud to have you as one of my children” the moon goddess said.

“Thank you, your highness” I said bowing my head.

“Now, I need you to go back and help your Lycan fight. It is up to you both if you’re going to survive or not” the moon goddess said before turning around and walked away from me. I had no idea what to do, but I began to feel tired. So, I sat down under the willow tree again and soon I fell asleep.
